I really want to thank Stow Police Department for their attentiveness to my case. I had to report…read morea theft and it was very difficult for me because I was very emotionally invested and devastated by the items that had been taken. While the items had all been stashed/gone/sold/melted/who knows what destroyed, the police officers made me feel that this case was important (I'm sure they had bigger things going on) and gave a thorough look into the case that night. In speaking to them on the phone, they were helpful, answered all my questions, and were genuinely sympathetic to my distress. While I"m still distraught - I really appreciate the officers sentiments and commitment to their jobs -- I'm sure its a very thankless career.

So far I have no bad experiences with the Boardman Police, which is surprising since this is where Matt and his girl live so I've been here many times, at all kinds of night. I tend to get pulled over a lot, just for looking suspicious or having out of state plates. But my only interactions with these police officers have been nice polite conversation at a gas station, and also being directed around construction workers as well.

Serve and protect? NOT IN TALLMADGE! My parents were hit by a driver, who fled the scene, and was…read moreonly located because a Good Samaritan chased them down. This inept police department refused to charge the driver with a hit and run, and did not search their car, despite the driver swapping with a passenger before fleeing the scene. Multiple witnesses offered this information, yet the police did nothing. They also had no insurance, and they were allowed to leave the scene with no insurance, despite telling the police the power steering was out in their car. So this police officer put an unsafe vehicle and a known uninsured driver on the street, possibly under the influence. I've never understood this notion of "defund the police" but situations like this certainly give it perspective.

My experience w TPD at various times over a 50 year span has been great. Grew up here and moved back on very snowy December day in 1995. My wife was driving on Howe rd with our infant child and 5 year old when an inexperienced driver driving way too fast slammed the car from the rear, totally our new car and scaring the kids pretty bad. Officers were kind , helpful, professional, gave my son a teddy bear ( he named "Crash"). Since then we've had other incidents- medical emergencies, parolee in the neighborhood, accidents etc. I also interact w TPD staff periodically professionally. Always professional, efficient, polite men and women who seem to seriously " get" the idea of public service.
