During our vacation in Portugal, I enjoyed the food, but it was a challenge for my spouse, who is vegan.
While visiting Parque Natural da Arrábida and Cabo Espichel, I was looking for a place for lunch, and was excited to see that Cantinho da Regina (Regina's Little Corner) is a vegan restaurant in Sesimbra. We figured out, when we arrived, that it actually offers both vegan and non-vegan fare.
The restaurant offers indoor seating, as well as a few tables outside, with a sideways view of Praia da California (California Beach). Decor is very simple, but there were cute touches here and there.
We arrived late for lunch and Regina was out of most items. We put ourselves in her hand and said we would eat whatever she had available. I was served Bacalhau Cantinho (Cod Cantinho style), and my spouse got Cogumelos Bras (Mushrooms Bras style). The dishes were nicely plated and, most importantly, tasted delicious. As Regina said, the secret ingredient was love. For dessert, we got two slices of vegan chocolate cake, which were very gooey; the texture was closer to brownie than cake.
Parking is available on the street at the front; if you cannot find street parking, there is a huge parking garage to the right of the restaurant. Service is very friendly. read more
