What an anti-climatic walk up the steps of the Diggers. Expecting to find an asian restaurant, we were greeted instead by GINORMOUS mexican hats and burritos. Despite our major craving for some sizzling beef, we settled on Cantina's and surprisingly, it was ok. The GenY (or is it the "I "Gen?) staff were friendly enough and our waiter was the sweetest kid, he even swapped me one of those said ginormous Mexican hats for my phone to take a pic of us.
Their servings are fairly substantial and in fact, I wasn't able to finish off my dish - I had the naked Burrito - normal chicken burrito minus the tortillas and the cheese sauce (there's just something about those two words placed together that conjures up all sorts of nastiness in my head). They have the tiniest plates for all this food, the salsa and cheese sauce (ewww) are in little bowls on the plate, the corn on the cob, the rice and the chicken all precariously placed right to the edge of this narrow plate - so of course, you can imagine the filth left when our plates were cleared.
The service is what you'd expect from a very young crew - not much conversational skill apart from LOL, totes and hashtag (just quietly, rather entertaining), clearing plates resulted in a fork backflipping taking with it some rice which ended up all over a friend and the bill given was for the wrong table - all in all though, a fun night given we had dined a little too well care of the 3 jugs of sangria #fittinginwiththekids read more
