Turns out it's a steakhouse and as you'll see in the photos I'm about to post this was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service is excellent, everything spotless, and they're incredibly generous with every dish they bring out. Sometimes the best places are the ones you walk past without knowing what's inside... until you stop, take a chance, and get blown away. Highly recommend.

It seems like this place has been around since 1975, although I could not understand (since I don't speak/read Italian) what the obsession with cows is. But I got a cow sticker at the end of the meal and that was cool! We ordered the following: BRUSCHETTE CAPRI: bruschette con pomodorini e ciliegine di mozzarella di bufala -- Apparently this is unique to Zio Jack? It comes out with two servings, each with its own adorable umbrella, and it was refreshing and delicious! ORECCHIA VIENNESE: l'ultimissima versione dell'orechhia di elefante, l'originale Wiener Schnitzel viennese, una enorme e sottile fetta di maiale impanata e fritta -- This really was enormous... and amazing... and it made us both so happy! It comes with a side of potato slices which were pretty good too. They also gave us a complimentary chocolate dessert stick along with a sample of their delicious sorbet. We were seated on their packed outdoor patio and our server was so nice even though we had a language barrier. My friend and I really loved our meal here and I definitely recommend this place if you are nearby!

There were empty tables downstairs and the restroom was also downstairs. The menu was only in Italian but we were able to figure out what we wanted. The ladies ordered tenderloin, one medium and one medium rare. When it came out, the meat was a little undercooked and not as warm in the plate. We asked our waiter if they could be taken back to cook a little longer and he was able to get that done. The meat for the 4 of us was delicious, warm, and well seasoned. A basket of crusty bread was taken to our table. I asked twice for butter and had to wait awhile for it but it was worth the wait. The restaurant was decorated with a modern flair. We are not wine drinkers but there is a good assortment of wines there. In America, we are used to good service from waitstaff at higher end restaurants like this. In Italy, it's different. Tipping is usually not done unless the diner feels well taken care of. Although we had to wait for a few items, the meat was worth the visit. Surprised that my review is the only one in the last few years. Not many know of this place unless they use Yelp.

But the staff was friendly and we were able to get a seat without too much of a wait. I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars primarily because the offer something very unique. A vegetarian Ragu with seitan. This place is known for great ragu, which is meat based. But they offer a vegitarian version that was very good. I got a mushroom pasta dish that was very tatsy and filling. I could only eat half due to how filling it was. My wife got an Aperol spritz and I got an italian beer. If we were back in the area we'd likely stop back in to rty other options on their large menu.

He even had some sample dry pastas with him to physically show me as a little demonstration, which I thought was really nice and appreciated very much. I ended up ordering the fresh scialatielli with ragu and ricotta (€13.50), which was simple yet tasty. The fresh pasta was cooked very well with a classic preparation. They also gave a generous amount of parmesan on the side. I also tried the fresh lemonade, which was very lemony and slightly fizzy for additional refreshment. The place is somewhat small inside but I was able to get a table without any wait. The kitchen is right next to the seating area, so it's kind of cool to see the cooks right there. Overall, Tandem is a great place for pasta dishes with very friendly service.
