If you're in the area and looking for childcare, I would be passionately urging you to check this…read moreplace out. - Locally owned - in fact, the owner Lydia is physically present and has her own child (or children, I'm not sure) in the facility. - When we were searching, it was important that the facility accommodate the dietary preference we have for our daughter - not medical dietary needs, dietary preferences. Other childcare facilities said I had to have a doctor's note for them to accommodate (um, no). When asked AAC, here's their response, which I think will help you understand what they're all about: Oh our owner is very passionate about different eating preferences, in fact, she is meeting with the chef and they are revamping the menu. They like to make different meals look the same so the kids don't feel odd eating something different (e.g. Vegetarian vs. Meat). At that moment I fell in love. Another one of the most memorable perks was the fact that they have their own "cafeteria/gym" area which is where the kitchen is, but they also hold Daddy Daughter dance type of events, and they also hold activities during the day for your kiddo to attend (like soccer or piano) which helps alleviate as many evening activities if so desired! Lastly and most importantly, their curriculum strategy and execution for Reggio is on point. I visited some places that execute it at bare minimum just to claim it, not this place. They are thoughtful in their strategy and passionate in their execution.

The staff are extremely friendly and all of the teachers have been outstanding. We've become so attached to each of the teachers that we have worried if the next teacher will be just as good as the previous. Much to our satisfaction AAC hires very qualified and genuinely nice teachers. We can tell that they truly love our children. We really like the extra lengths AAC goes to make the experience feel like a family. They have a dad/daughter dance as well as a mom/son movie night each year. Price is competitive with other schools in the area.

It's a step up from what the city offers and is a bit more expensive, but less intense than KC Ballet, which was what I was looking for. The only reason I'm going 4/5 is because the complex is massive and for folks like me that are only coming once a week for a class it was really hard to find where I needed to go on day one and the folks at the front desk had no idea where the dance classes were held. They were very nice though so that did soften the blow. Now that I know where to go it's all smooth sailing and I'd recommend them to others.

I like the werx dance fitness class. We joined because we moved a little too far from our old gym, but after being here I wish we would just drive to the old one. My main concern is the childcare. We were used to a gym with friendly childcare workers who engaged with our kids. Here they are not friendly and I peek in to see workers on their phones or just sitting there not engaging. I'm most upset about the video games. I talked to them about my concern but they claim parents are requesting their kid have time on it. I find that SUPER hard to believe. They said they can enforce a time limit for my kid and have some of the time. Today I arrive and my kid is just at the gate hoping I return soon. I have no idea how long that was happening. His sister is 6 months shy from being able to go to the other room Where I am sure they would play together. All the kids in the older area were watching or playing video games and my kid was alone with staff not attempting to engage him. It just makes me sad that my kid is having this experience/ and it makes me not want to come.

This year my middle child will be returning for her second year (kindergarten year) and my youngest will start his pre-year ! I can't wait to see what this year will bring! Our oldest daughter (now 7) attended Phoenix for preschool and kindergarten, and our youngest (3) is currently enrolled. The curriculum is challenging but also gives them ample opportunity to express themselves with art and other projects. Even after graduation, the teachers remain interested in your child's success and are a helpful resource as you transition into a regular school. One of our favorite things about Phoenix is that graduates are always welcome to come back a visit ... creating a wonderful continuity in their education! I cannot recommend the school enough. If you want an exceptional Montessori education for your child, Phoenix is a perfect option.

I wanted a school where they would be loved and comforted, receive educational enrichment and really begin to grow into the little people they will become. While at Bethany I have seen a dramatic leap in my children's development and I absolutely give credit to their fantastic teacher's who work with them to provide an edge; both with their educational and personal development. The owners and teachers are very loving and consistent with the children. On several occasions, if one of the girls was sad or upset about leaving mom (me) to be at school, a teacher would offer to snuggle or sit with them until they felt better. My kids have become deeply attached to their daytime and afternoon teachers over the past year, and it's been a relief that turnover has been very low in my experience. I also appreciate the kindness and understanding I've received as a parent from all of the staff members--which has not always been my experience at other schools. Academically, I'm very impressed. My older daughter is in the elementary classroom, which is a range of children from K-3rd grade. She would be in kindergarten in public school, but she's consistently bringing home 1-2nd grade worksheets that she has finished with flying colors! She was just beginning to sound out words when she started, and now she is working on reading basic chapter books. She's also learned to add and subtract fractions, understands the scientific process, and has a solid grasp on the geography of the United States and the continents of the world. My younger daughter is officially in their preschool program, but she has also learned to read and is working on kindergarten-level math skills. The elementary program offers a long list of field trips and special events in the classroom, such as their holiday parties, Christmas program, "coffee house poetry cafe" event, and more. These schools may look pretty ordinary from the outside, but the amount of love and care that goes into the curriculum and the students is amazing.
