This school has been a consistent source of stress and disappointment. From the start, the…read moreadmissions process was disorganized, and the admissions representative seemed more focused on maintaining an attitude than actually doing her job. Staff like Ms. Grace frequently boast about their experience with students with disabilities, yet fail to deliver even basic support likely due to being stretched too thin across too many roles. I've had to withdraw seven students due to unprofessional, underqualified teachers and a disturbing lack of support, especially for those with special needs. In one unacceptable instance, a teacher openly referred to a student as a "trouble child" -- a label no professional educator should ever use. Student belongings were also confiscated and absurdly labeled as "public property," raising serious concerns about boundaries and respect. The Dean, despite claiming to be a parent of children with autism, shows a surprising lack of knowledge around accommodations, and the principal seems more concerned with snacking on Goldfish crackers than addressing the serious, ongoing issues in the school. Overall, this environment is not only unfit for children with disabilities, but it struggles to support any student effectively. During the withdrawal process staff were unable to locate my child's inhaler, not even the school nurse, who seemed more preoccupied with giving attitude than paying attention to where lifesaving medication was stored. Several people had to be called just to locate it, and my nephew's inhaler was never returned at all. When a child has asthma, knowing exactly where their inhaler is can mean the difference between safety and a medical emergency... that should be common sense!

Academy for Kids is by far the best daycare in Osceola County. I typically do not prefer corporate…read moredaycare centers, but Academy for Kids in St. Cloud is the exception. I cannot thank the staff enough for the way they work alongside parents to help develop truly amazing little humans who will go on to do great things in this world. While there may be other schools that look more aesthetically impressive, you simply cannot put a price on the love, care, and emotional intelligence provided at Academy for Kids. Mary is an incredible director who genuinely does everything she can to ensure the school succeeds and that the children are cared for properly. The atmosphere created by the staff goes far beyond basic childcare and education. If you are looking for a daycare where your child will not only learn what they need before kindergarten academically, but also learn kindness, respect, emotional growth, and how to be a good human beyond the classroom, this is the place.

It was convenient to drop off as they had early hours for someone (me) who lived in town but worked in Orlando. They had a unique check in and check out system. Parents weren't always welcomed to go back near classrooms to get their children - but as a teacher I understand that. They preferred to get your child themselves and drop off in the front lobby. My son had the same 2 teachers the whole time he was there and we continued our relationship with them outside of the school for many years. We loved Ms. Judy & Ms. Lori. We've lost touch now. They had many events planned throughout the summer there too. I see a few posted about the price of daycare, honestly maybe the price has gone up... but back in 2010-2013 it was affordable. Your paying someone to take care of your child, I think a price increase would be understandable.
