mannn FUCK this school i went here during 6th grade and now…read moreim in 10th idk whats changed but i assume nothing since its a CMS school. i was getting bullied really badly. i tried taking it up with the counselors, and they just told me to "try avoiding them" during and outside of class. MF THEY ARE SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO ME the teachers did nothing to solve this, the one spesific teacher was ms elliot man she can go to hell i hate her they cancelled field trips because we "misbehaved" too much and blamed the entire grade on it. i remember getting in trouble with the principal and admins because i was NEAR someone who said some slurs or something. i never even heard them say anything and yet they pulled me out of class for it??? if your gonna bring your kid here from any other CMS school, just dont. its also very overcrowded, and almost nobody cares about their job there. also its next to hough which has a bomb threat like every week so yeah fuck cms and fuck you guys

I like this school…read more What sets it apart is the staff. The students have the pleasure of being taught by professionals who make up a uniquely caring staff. The staff knows the students and treats them as valued individuals. The staff practices a hands on approach with the students. Most of them know each student and their parents well, and seem to prioritize creating a positive rapport with parents. I also appreciate the life lessons in tolerance and cultural appreciation that attending such a diversity rich learning environment offers students here. One thing I've noticed is that the students smile. As trivial as that may seem, you can tell a lot based on this. As a former teacher, I can sense when students are thriving in their environment. It appears there is a great deal of that happening here.

The curriculum is more advanced than our experience at CMS, and our kids are encouraged to challenge themselves while being fully supported. They actually enjoy going to school, which says a lot. When our son needed help with reading, he received in-school and after-school tutoring at no cost. Teachers are communicative, with weekly check-ins and extra updates. Every teacher we've had has gone above and beyond. The admin team is engaged and present at drop off and pick up daily. BCCA goes beyond academics with events that build confidence, character, and community. We're so grateful to be part of this diverse, supportive school. Highly recommend.
