I always felt a sense of magic whenever I walked the woods, gazed at the pond, and saw the joy on each child's face on the nature playground! I was always in awe of the unique activities and ideas flowing through the children and teachers! Ms. Carolyn is such an incredible soul who values children and offers each of them an invitation to receive an incredible love of learning. The foundational skills of curiosity, social interaction, creativity, exploration, and problem solving are rock solid after my child's preschool experience. His connection to nature and love for science couldn't be more beautiful. There is no other preschool in our area that comes close to this unique forest school experience. In addition, we took advantage of the summer camp offerings and birthday party packages as well!! We drove 25 min between our home and the school. It is worth every moment of commuting to give my child such a rich childhood experience. I plan to continue my relationship with Woodland Discovery when my youngest is old enough to begin!!

I can't say enough good words about this school!…read more My son has been going there for almost a year, he started when he turned 20 months. He has always been a very shy kid, and school experience was challenging for him. All the school staff were extremely attentive and helpful during his transition period. His first teacher, Ms Megan, always hugged him when he came and spoke in soft voice to make him feel comfortable. I was amazed how my son changed in the school. I couldn't believe my eyes when after a couple of months I saw him running from the car to go to school! It's also impressive to see all creative and development activities they do. My son learned all his letters and numbers, he learned shapes and colors even before going to the next age group. Most importantly, he learned to love making art and create! Ms Crystal and Ms K from his next age group are incredible, they both know each child very well and have individual approach to each of them. We had to leave the school after moving to another state, and now I have a very challenging task to find another place with such a warm and loving atmosphere and great teachers, like in Goddard School in Concord.

Ok...come on, my child decided to pack his own lunch and didn't put any meat with his lunch and of course his parent was pulled to the side and was scolded. My son was enrolled here for 8 months. I enrolled him when he was 18 months. The location was…read moreconvenient and they had openings for his age group. Also my 13 year old niece attended this center when she was a toddler so I felt comfortable. Boy oh boy was I in for a huge disappointment! I don't even know where to begin. After the third month of enrollment, I started looking for a new facility to place my son. It took another 3 months to find somewhere I felt was suitable and we had to wait 2 more months until the fall semester before he could start there. Hence the 8 months stay at gateway. So this place has an incredible staff turn over. In the 8 months my son was there, literally 8 staff members left or quit or were fired. It was unbelievable! Every few weeks we would get an email informing us that miss so and so is no longer with the center and miss xyz will be starting soon. Sure enough as soon as miss xyz started the cycle would repeat. There was one teacher who was there in the mornings when I dropped my son off and she smelled like marijuana. It blew my mind! How the heck do you come to work at 7am with the stench of weed? The facility opens at 6:30 but is never staffed. I usually dropped my son off at 7am and there was only one teacher there. All the kids from all age groups had to stay with her until the other teachers wandered in between 8:30 and 9am. I'm pretty sure thats a state violation. I came to drop my son off one morning and the teacher was sitting in the classroom moisturizing her feet and taking great care to concentrate on her heels. I was grossed out and pissed. She did wash her hands afterwards but I don't feel that this should have been done at the table where the kids eat their meals. When you have a question for one of the teachers the only response you get is 'I don't know mom. I wasn't there this morning. I just came into the class 30 minutes ago.' At one point I just stopped asking. I brought bug spray to be used on my son. Of course it was NEVER applied. He came home every day with huge bumps from insect bites. The next day I would remind the teacher hey there is bug spray and a permission slip for my son, and l would pick him up again with you guessed it.....bug bites. So I started to drop him off with long pants only. If I did put shorts on him I would douse him with spray when I dropped him off. So they boast water play every Friday in the summer. The first official day, I dropped my son off with his swim clothes, and a change of clothes and his shoes in a bag. I come to pick him up early (thank god) because he has an appointment and he's in the class barefoot. Ok so I'm livid. The teacher said to me 'you didn't send a change of clothes or shoes for him.' I said yes. I gave it to the teacher this morning when I dropped him off. And she said " Well I don't start till 9 so I don't know." Ok that's besides the point. If you think I didn't bring a change of clothes and shoes why on earth didn't you call me and say hey mom we need shoes for your baby? Are you that dense? All the while the bag with my son's clothes and shoes were sitting on his cubby! So my sons last day was on Fri August 24th. I go back to gateway on Monday the 27th to pick up the rest of his belongings and the expensive SSS bug spray that they never bothered using on him. The spray is no where to be found. Only the permission slip and bag that held the spray are in the bin. One teacher asks another if she's seen the spray and she replies "its in my bag." I'm thinking it's in a bag with other odds and ends with class room stuff. Well just when I thought this place and the staff couldn't get lower the teacher comes and retrieves the spray from her purse. She said to me she had to put it up or they would throw it out. I take the bottle and it's pretty much empty. I'm wondering why because the spray was never used on my son. I was so pissed and disgusted. When does this place hit bottom? I could go on and on about this place with all the stories I heard from other parents but I guess it wouldn't make a difference. I'm so glad my son is out of there. Today was his fourth day at his new daycare and he's doing so well. If I could give any advice or would be to stay away from gateway.

I love that you can stay connected to the school and what's going on through the tadpole app & the watch me grow app! The teachers also take the time at pick up/drop off to talk to you and check in. They truly provide personalized care for your child! I couldn't be happier with the quality of education our daughter receives there and I would recommend Kiddie Academy to anyone looking for an affordable, compassionate, and nurturing place for their kids to grow and learn.

Overview: JUST NO. Lots of red flags in three months. Nicolette and RaShina are their saving grace…read more Nicolette needs to be the second director. Melony (a director) She leaves the LOCKED front door propped open! When she has to go outside, she props the door open. This happens often. Our child's hair was pulled out. She "watched the cameras" & said it didn't happen. Yet there was plenty of undeniable proof it did. She REFUSED to write an incident report. When confronted, she continued to lie & was caught in them. In our exit meeting, she told us we weren't allowed to talk about it because "it was done, over with & handled appropriately". LYING is the appropriate way to handle our child being hurt? She even told us our last day could be that day for bringing that up. She doesn't have that type of authority to make those decisions. - There is an issue with black fathers. I've seen it done to my husband & other black fathers. They won't speak/acknowledge them unless they do it first. We can all enter the room at the same time, they will openly speak to me & the children, but not my husband. He has to address them in order for them to speak. He can ask them a question & they'll ignore him and talk to me. - They don't clean well. I understand germs are a thing, especially in daycares, but our children were sick the entire time they were here - literally. Our children are very healthy, but when they came here, that changed. - There's NO communication. There was a HUGE outbreak of hand, foot & mouth. They didn't send out anything about it, shut down the daycare for a few days to clean, quarantine the rooms, NOTHING, but they all knew! I talked to both of their teachers separately & they did the same thing, looked around, whispered that they knew and said there was also a stomach flu and a bad cold going around. Am I missing something here?! The WHOLE WORLD shut down not too long ago because of germs & lack of cleanliness. You have THREE MAJOR ILLNESSES running rampant at once & no one thought to send out a notice to the parents so we can do our part? Or decide to keep our kids home until it cleared up? When we asked admin about it, they lied & said they didn't know. I saw & heard them going classroom to classroom whispering, asking teachers about their numbers and if they noticed anyone with it. - They don't believe in personal boundaries. When we told their teachers we didn't want our children hugging & holding hands with other children, they looked at us like we were crazy. Like we offended them. They also didn't understand why we didn't want them to touch our children's hair. It took several times & conversations for them to understand and do what we asked. - Their tuition does not match what you get. They have high tuition, no sibling discount and the children are basically being babysat, not taught. But they advertise it as if they have a formal curriculum & a great teacher environment. We were expecting better for paying as much as we did between signing them up (admin, registration, first weeks tuition, & security deposit - all due before they can start) & their weekly tuition. Plus you have to pay an additional fee to have access to their cameras. 2yr old room - The first week we were here, our child's blanket was lost the second or third day. Instead of telling us, they used one of theirs & didn't say anything. We discovered it at the end of the week when it was time to take home the bedding & there was nothing in his cubby. That's when they said they hadn't seen it all week. No one knew what happened to it. - There is a lot of turn over. We were there for about three months & the first month & half, there was a new teacher in there almost every other week. - Our child has a milk sensitivity. Pooping use to be a breeze - very easy, happen several times a day, painless - it became a nightmare & only on the weekends. During the weekend, we'd get things moving again, but then be right back to constipation on Monday. They said they weren't giving any dairy products during meals, but that's not what our child's body was saying. A month removed from the center & our child's habits are finally getting back to normal. 4yr old room - There was only one teacher in here for a while with a classroom full of kids. Watching the cameras & in person, most of the time it appeared that the children were doing what they wanted. After a second teacher was added, it became organized. It was obvious in our child's behavior as well as education. - The teacher told us to buy our child laceless shoes because the shoe laces were a tripping hazard. Our child had been wearing laced sneakers for a while & has never had a problem with them until now. I don't have solid proof, but I do believe she cut our child's shoe laces as they didn't come home the same way we sent them. They looked like someone had tore them & tied knots in them. We had to buy new laces for them. This happened to several pairs of shoes.
