I'm getting long winded here but the bottom line is, he does outstanding Meticulous work. He was there faithfully every day and did it all by himself. Bottom line ! HE'S HONEST HARD WORKING DEDICATED and VERY REASONABLE! I know by singing his praises I might have to wait in line to get him back for any further remediation. After my experience with him I don't anticipate any further issues but I'll gladly wait in line for him!!

While…read moreusing a high powered blower, they knocked over a container of used oil near our garage, getting oil on the corner of our driveway, house, mulch, and lawn. The incident was captured on our security cameras. Accidents happen. What is disappointing isn't the spilled oil, it was how it was handled. The crew left without notifying us or cleaning it up, and we only discovered the damage ourselves. We contacted the company the following day asking what happened and received a reply a couple days later that they were having technical difficulties and could reschedule. Unfortunately, the response did not address what happened or accept responsibility. The lack of communication and accountability is what prompted this review. While the oil container should not have been there, contractors still have a responsibility to inspect the area before operating equipment and to communicate when problems occur. Had someone informed us, cleaned up the mess, and either completed or rescheduled the job with communication, I would not be writing this review. I originally posted a review on Google to share my experience. For reasons unknown to me, the review is not publicly visible, so I am sharing it here as well.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. On 9/21/18 I approved the…read moreestimate for a retaining wall. I was told they would be there the next week to start. They never showed up so I followed up with emails and phones calls weekly with no response. They finally showed up on Oct. 29th. I went with the owner to pick out block for the wall, I chose a block from what he showed me were my options. He had me pay for the material upfront. The next day he told me he did not realize how much the material would cost so he would be using a lesser quality so he wouldn't lose money (I waited over a month to get my refund for the difference in price). Once the crew arrived they complained quite frequently about the owner and one of them quit mid-project. They also did not show up everyday. The wall is not straight, has gaps, and several pieces were not glued down so they now can be lifted right off the wall. When I paid the remaining balance I made the check out to The Grounds Guys but Matt made me rip up the check and make it out to him personally so he wouldn't have to pay the franchise fees. During the project my NEW front lawn was ruined due to their trucks driving over it. I was told that it would be repaired either at the end of the project or early Spring. I contacted Matt in May about it and he said "I haven't forgotten about you". I am writing this on July 2nd, 2019 and he never showed up. I ended up having 3 yards of dirt delivered ($120) and I bought seed ($40) myself and fixed it. I have filed a complaint with corporate and am currently waiting to hear back.

I searched Yelp and found 3 possibiities of firms that I could consult with. Fortunatley, the first one--Hamlin Block & Concrete--came, saw, and conquered what I thought was an "impossible" job. They are masters in their field and were able to provide the expertise and quality workmanship so that one would never know my foundation was falling apart. The estimate they made was the final cost for their work. I am glad I put my trust in a company who lived up to their word.
