I dropped a purse off June 18th and was told that although their signage said "6 weeks" that my purse would be done more likely in 3 weeks. I paid for the repair and left. I went into the Cannery to the store on Tuesday August 6th (because nobody had called me to say it was ready and I figured it was 6 weeks so it should be done). Got to the store and there was a sign on the door to say they were closed due to staff shortage. I went back Tuesday, August 13th and the lady was there and when I asked about my purse, she let me know that she had left it at home that day, along with her other items. I explained that I lived 40 minutes from Penticton and that this was my second trip in and she was kind enough to refund my money, and promised that she would send my pure to me via Canada Post on Thursday August 15th. Today is Friday, August 23rd and I have not received my purse. I have called and left a voicemail but who knows if she will even call me back. All I want is the purse that I bought in Mexico back - it only needed a strap to be sewed to the body of the purse. I don't get why this is such an issue but I am extremely upset. This is the worst customer service I have ever received - I have brought many things over the years to this place and have never had an issue.....until now. I'm not sure how to move forward if she decides not to call me back...... read more

Unfortunately my experience was not good. I took one pair of sandals and one pair of shoes in. The shoes I needed stretched no problem the owner said $15 and the other pair of sandals needed new liners put on them $50, seemed very expensive, I think I only paid $50 for the sandals new. Come back in two days he said. I arrived two days later, and he said he did not know what he was thinking but that was too soon and he needed more time. I waited about 1.5 weeks and returned. This time a nice woman assisted me. She could not find the shoes. I had to go back and look around to identify them. I found them and both pairs of shoes were untouched. She said he did not remember what I needed done with the shoes I had left to be stretched. I told her again what was needed. She said to call the owner and find out what was going on with the shoes. She said he would also call me. He never did call. Two days later I called and spoke to him. Still nothing had been done. I said I needed them and he said he could have them done by 2pm that day. I went to pick up the shoes and sandals. The sandals were horrible. The original liners were chocolate brown to match the rest of the sandal. He had put on a much thicker than original liner that was in a LIGHT TAN colour. They look ridiculous. The workmanship looks like an amatuer did the work. The cuts are not straight and there is glue painted over the shoe in one spot. There was a split required in the liner, which we agreed when I dropped them off that would run front to back. He said now that his shoe guy had said to run it side to side. I pointed out that my big toe would pull the joint apart and this started to happen as soon as I put them on even for few seconds in the store. Well without any provacation other than pointing this issue out, he just had a hissy fit and walked away muttering, saying he had 25 years of experience and that he was washing his hands of the deal and walked away to the back of his store. In summation lousy service at around 2.5 weeks and having to make a total of 3 trips just to try and pick them up. Expensive pricing quoted on simply lining the sandals, and to top it off a lousy attitude with no customer service whatsoever. The sandals look so ridiculous that I will just throw them away, he has totally ruined them. Unfortunately we will never use this company again. read more

I came from out of town to have my boot heals replaced. I thought it would be an easy fix but was advised by Larissa that it would take several days. I told her I was from out of town and was only in Penticton for two days and thanked her for her time. She offered to give my boots to Frank asap and guaranteed they would be ready within 24 hours. I was cautiously optimistic. She called me a few hours later to inform me that Frank had repaired them and they were ready for pick up immediately. I am so very thankful to Lairssa and Frank for their great service. I can use my favorite boots again and the repair looks excellent. Thank you both again! read more

The owner has repaired various shoes and/or leather items and the workmanship is always top-notch. Prices are very competitive, too. If you'd like to get a more mileage out of a favorite boot or shoe, have a treasured hand-bag stitched, etc. then this is the place for it. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. Dropped off an easy to fix loose heel SIX MONTHS ago. He told me it was a one week fix. I called once over the six months to the reply "why didn't you call before". Huh, maybe because it's not my job to babysit you, but it is your job to look after your clients. When I went in to pick up my shoes, fixed or not (They were not. They were untouched.) I was angry obviously, but calm and did not try to cause a scene, simply get my point across. I waited for other customers to vacate the store before even speaking to him. He threatened to kick me and my mother out of his store, and swore at us the entire time we were in there. He didn't even ask my name or which shoes they were, he just handed me my shoes. Meaning it is assumed he knew the shoes, had been looking at them the whole six months, knew my name and number, and did nothing about it. Outside of customer service, still terrible. My shoes sat in his store for six months, and appear untouched. read more

For starters i wish i could give half a star. I took a pair of boots to Fred to get repaired. When I came to pick the up they were not done when he said they were going to be. Not a problem I understand people get busy. When they finally were done I picked them up. To my dismay they looked like sh*t. I didn't want to cause a fuss because I don't like to be involved in confortations. A couple weeks latter I had another pair of boots that need to be resoled . Again I went to Fred thinking, okay we are all human and all make mistakes, maybe he just had a bad day? I picked up these boots and honestly they were worst than the last. While finishing off the side of my soles it looks like he hit the leather part of my boot and created a huge cut into it. OK so you think I would stop there. Nope. My curiosity got in the way this time on the third pair that just needed some stitching.one of my pull tabs on my boules needed to be stitched. What a mess that was. So I tried a couple other shops. Same crap service and shoty workmanship. Until I went to a place on Ellis st in kelowna. It was my last stop. Out walks a younger guy covered in tattoos, thought to myself, well I'm not to sure what I'm going to expect here. After talking with his young guy I decided to give it a shot, can't get any worse. He told me he would call me in a week or so when not they were done. Week and 3 days latter got a call, and headed straight down. When they pulled my boots from the bags they keep them in and showed me the work, I was blown away. This young tattoo gentleman really worked his magic on my boots that someone with 20 year more experience than him butchered up. I will be going back and traveling 45min to bring my items to this shop on Ellis in kelowna.......they taught me a lesson, don't judge a guy on his appearance alone. read more
