Decent BINGO hall. Still a little smokey for me, but not quite as smokey as Sunset Station. They have all the usual bingo options, including the fancy electronic cards. They also have a nice selection of drinks (the food you have to pay for). They have a nice BINGO board. I like how it reveals the letter before the number, so you can have fun (or disappointment) guessing which number it's gonna be. Definitely worth a try and you don't have to play too much money. If you're playing the electronic cards (which I recommend) you're gonna spend at least $25. Which, all things considered, for an hour of entertainment you're still doing better than the slots even if you lose it all.

Everyone seems like a regular and they are very laid-back, unlike the other bingo room where we usually play. There has been no shushing here. People don't have a heart attack if someone else yells "bingo!" by accident. Not that I've done that, but it could happen. CONS: -They don't have machines here, so it's only PAPER! The first time we played here, I was very stressed out because I usually always play with a machine. I haven't used a dauber in a couple of years. Not to mention that my +1 got me the 12-card pack: whut?! The pressure! "Wait, what number did she just call?! I'm still trying to find the previous number called!" Okay, so the second time we went, we took our out-of-town friends and it was much better. I got a 6-card pack and I could relax and have fun. -I haven't won yet. I've been practicing my yell, though.

So yesterday we made a reservation for a canopy rather than a cabana, just because they didn't anticipate spending the whole day there. The canopy rental was $100. for the day. That included some water and fruit. As an afterthought, we contacted our host and she comped the canopy cost, (Thanks Stacy).... When they checked into day the pool, the comp has to be "redeemed" at the rewards desk, which meant a walk from one of the property to the other and back. It would seem that there could be a more efficient way of doing that. The pool itself was great, the pool deck was spotless , not crowned today (except for a couple screaming kids that apparently needed to be where the canopy we chose was). The pool water was warm and crystal clear. Lunch was from Capriotti's at the food court and a couple of adult beverages were ordered from the pool bar. So it was a good experience and no need to hit the more crowded pools at the strip.

We decided to go to Aliante Casino Hotel Spa before dinner because it's one of the Boyd properties and our Player's Card is linked up to their system. The free parking and beautiful environment were much appreciated! The interior looks updated like the Red Rock Casino. Restrooms were clean and modern. Personnel were efficient and friendly. We're glad we stopped by!

My meal was really good overall. I ordered the gumbo with shrimp and crab, the flavor was definitely there and the texture was good. They also allow you to pick the spice level you want. I chose 4 and it was just enough spice for me. Only thing is, I honestly couldn't see or find any crab in it, which was a little disappointing. I do wish the waitress would have asked if I wanted okra because I actually hate okra and had to pick it all out. Not a deal breaker, but something that would have made the experience better. Overall, I enjoyed my food and I would order the gumbo again but next time I'll ask for no okra and clarify the crab situation.

Even though I asked for the waitress to let me know when we were getting close to our drink limit, she did not let me know until we were at almost $300. The band was great, but we won't be coming back. They have one waitress to work the entire room, which is ridiculous. I also don't think 6 of us drank $300 in 2 hours! EDIT: took off stars for the lip service of "we'll do absolutely nothing" response to my review. If they don't already know it's an issue, they are terrible at management. If they do know, they're scamming others, like me. Either way, ridiculous.

We checked in on a Thursday and enjoyed an evening of casino action and north Las Vegas. The area has a lot of restaurants to choose from if you are not feeling any of the casino restaurants...this night we hit up the Texas Roadhouse that is only a block away. The casino is not super small, but smaller than most...but I found it very fun. We sat at the bar most of the evening and got great service. I slept very well in the very comfortable hotel room. Also wanted to check out the Carve (at least to see where it was since I have a dinner meeting there in a couple of weeks. Ok the cannery is not glamorous or glitzy, it embodies the low key local casino vibe. A mix of older machines, newer machines etc. the clientele today looked pretty low key laid back working class retiree , maybe because I was there in the middle of the day. Table games seemed busy. I went to the big bar/lounge in the middle to play a bit of poker. Ordered a drink.... Let's just say there was so much ice in the glass, there there was barely any room for my Jameson. Play for a few minutes took my two swallows of my drink and asked for another. The bartender said she couldn't give me another for at least a half an hour.... What's up with that? There was no little light on the machine I was playing to indicate I hadn't played enough or anything... weird. Given that experience I went out on the floor , and played a bit . "Discovered" the victory sports at and cafe while I was walked around. I sat down at a machine , ordered a drink, got a better drink than at the other bar, and no attitude from the bartender when I asked for another to sip on when I was about done playing and getting ready to go back on the floor. The casino was clean, didn't see the army of cleaners like I see at Aliante or Santa Fe. Didn't see as many cocktail servers either. Ventilation wise, not bad So I'm not sure when I'll be back but I do have a meal coming up at Carve in the near future, so we'll see.

There is a small parking lot in front and some street parking around the venue. If you get there early, you can snag a spot there in front. We scored one. Just inside the front doors is a small lobby with a bar that serves a few options for beer, wine, mixed drinks, sodas, and water, along with a few snack options. The bartender was friendly and took care of us quickly. The venue is through another set of doors and seats about 200-250 people. With that size, there isn't a bad seat in the house. We were in the back row of seats and were still only about 100 feet from the stage, if that. There is also a section of bleacher-type seating in the very back. The sound and lighting system were excellent. There is also a room in the back that they use for meet and greets. Again, small bar serving drinks. They also had a charcuterie table set up. I don't know if that was specific to the artist performing that night or a typical offering, but the spread was very nice, offering decorative cups with a small variety of meats and cheeses, along with salted caramel chocolate. There were also cake pops offered. Overall, this is a great venue. I would recommend looking into the shows they have to offer and come check one out!
