I'm a graphic designer so when it comes to choosing a printer to work with I was picky - when Alex first met me he took the time to give me a tour of the shop, show me the kind of work that they do, and introduced me to his team. Even though they're an incredibly busy shop he still took that time out to do that and I truly appreciated that. Great to know how they operate and the steps they take to ensure top quality. One thing that I've learned over the years in my trade is that every print machine interprets colours differently, files differently, and each printing company likes getting their files presented differently. Regardless of how awesome a designer you are, if you don't know how the printer likes the files you can have problems. I've been burned it the past with other print companies that sent back a horrible product that made me look awful with my clients that could have been solved by simple kicking the file back to me with a little bit of feedback - but they didn't take the time to do that. Alex and the MinuteMan Press Burnaby team ALWAYS take the time to make sure it's right. They suggest adjustments where needed to make sure the final product is awesome and one time they even had me come in and review some print samples and made adjustments while I was there to fix a problem. The end result was a fantastic product that far surpassed my clients expectations - and my own for how far their customer service really goes. What I have learned as a designer from working with Alex and his team is invaluable and I cannot voice my appreciation enough! Overall, their service and production in quality is exceptional for the rates which are mid-range in my opinion. The service could be a little better and they seem quite busy and occasionally miss some of the details of what I asked for such as a proof for each design. As a customer I need to make sure to be clear about what I'm asking for but I must say the onus is on the printing company when someone asks for a proof and nothing is done about it.
