If you want to get transported back to your abuelitas kitchen, come here! Sofia invites you to trust her menu choices (because there is no menu). We were served appetizers, soup, main course, and dessert so bring your appetite. The icing on this dining experience was listening to some of Sofias life stories which are also told through her food.

Starter fresh made guacamole and salsa, with tacos dorados.

Sofia delivers a unique experience as she welcomes you into her kitchen as part of the family and cooks you a meal that you won't forget. Her passion and love for cooking is felt in every bite. Be sure to reserve a spot at her table with time as she cooks everything from scratch and needs time gather fresh ingredients.

Amazing find from a very modest street presence. Everything fresh, there is no menu - they make it custom from what they have on hand. Excellent cactus margaritas and the best guacamole we've ever had. But it's the atmosphere that is so wonderful.

I would give Canipole and Sofia 10 stars if I could. It was more than a meal, it was an experience of being welcomed into a family home and hosted by the owner and her nieces. Everything is made from scratch and cooked over an open wood fire or in her beautiful outdoor kitchen. We started with the best guacamole I've had, made right in front of us, with a margarita made from fresh squeezed lime, orange, grapefruit and clementine juice. Choice of three entrees, all of which were outstanding. The chile rellanos and chicken mole were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We knew the meal would cost more than at local taco stands, but then again, the quality and experience was well worth it. For two of us, it was $80 total for a 4 course homemade meal (with drinks), that we thought was well worth it. Highly recommend making a trip to Canipole during your vacation in Loreto. Reservations are required.

The tacos were loaded with perfectly cooked meat, grilled onions, fresh pico, and then you get to hit the little salsa station to top it exactly how you like it. Great variety and just the right amount of heat. And the pescado... unreal. It was so amazing I didn't even get a photo because I basically swallowed it whole . That's how good it was. What really stood out though was the kindness of the people running it. Super welcoming, hardworking, and genuinely friendly. You can tell they care about what they're serving. Simple spot, amazing food, awesome people. If you're in Loreto, don't miss this place.

Came back after noon, and it was quite busy. It's a little confusing because no one greets you at the door, nor is there an order counter. But just grab a seat wherever you can find one, and someone will come to get your order. They had 4 options available that day. We got the fish and carne asada. Go with flour tortillas if you can. I usually prefer corn, but we got a couple of each, and the flour were the best. All the tacos were delicious and having the salsa/topping bar is great, so you can add whatever hot sauce, salsas, and veggies. There were only 2 workers there, but they were working their butts off. Definitely try it out - just be prepared to be patient - it's worth it. They are super nice and the food is great!
