It was kinda cool, but a lot of houses had the same blow up decore. I saw frosty 5 times So if you wanna see lights ok fine, but it's not as extravagant as they advertised it to be... My expectations based on how they hyped it up were something like Dr.Seuss how the grinch stole Christmas "house lighting competition" ... NOTHING like that. My child enjoyed it tho. Wasn't too shabby. Nice for a quick stroll for the evening to witness some décor. I've gone the last 2 yrs and this year it just didn't seem to meet the "hype" I always hear about candy cane lane. But I can't be too hard, it's a free neighborhood light show. I'm glad it's apart of Solano County. Love the tradition it seems to have. Parking is pretty easy, just find somewhere to park along the side street and bring a cup of hot cocoa lol. read more

Took me 25 minutes to get through the traffic in front of my house, people walk around without masks, i overheard a parent telling their child to pee on my fence. I absolutely hate candy cane lane. Hard to enjoy the holiday season when my neighborhood has big city traffic and disrespectful visitors. Candy cane lane continues to make my life hell for a month out of the year. I didnt sign up for this. If only a few other neighborhoods did this so the amount of people on our street would be less. read more

Off we go! It's not a big, Hollywood production. It's not Disneyland. It's our quaint, small town. And I wouldn't have it any other way. For years, this was our family tradition. We looked forward to our annual visit to Candy Cane Lane & Lollipop Alley. Most of the residents on these 2 streets turn their homes into a wonderful Christmas light display. You can park and stroll. Enjoy the people and lights. Or slowly drive and take in the sites. Our tradition is get PJ's on, turn lights down on the truck, sip our hot deliciousness & snack on buttery, salty goodness! After our leisurely drive down these streets, we meander the neighborhoods and enjoy the different displays. Another favorite stop is at 701 Monaghan Wy. 20,000 lights synced to music at 99.1. Definitely worth the drive to Browns Valley. These days, it's just my daughter & I at home. We still enjoy our visit. However, nowadays, we take a trip to Starbucks drive-through and climb into my car. (Still in PJ's!) Off N. Orchard, Arlene Wy. turns into "Candy Cane Lane & Lollipop Alley." Every town has their own light display and Vacaville is no exception. Lollipop Lane and Candy Cane Lane, off of North Orchard fit the bill. While only two blocks long, almost every single house, on both sides of the street decorate. While many people drive the lighted circuit, there is ample parking at the church on No. Orchard. Personally I'm a Lollipop Lane kinda gal but I've gotta give credit to all the homeowners on both Candy Cane and Lollipop Lane for putting up such festive decorations ('Cause I sure ain't gonna deck my house out). I've been visiting this yearly tradition on and off for the last seven years. I seen my share of dark houses and this year wasn't so bad. So there are two options in viewing this spectacular light show: A. Drive or B. Walk. Either or, be safe when you do any of those options. I was a near witness to two vehicle on pedestrian accidents because either the vehicles DIDN'T HAVE THEIR LIGHTS ON (I don't know why people had their lights off) or the pedestrian wasn't able to see the oncoming car 'cause there LIGHTS WEREN'T ON. So take home message just drive safe (WITH YOUR LIGHTS ON), stay on the sidewalks, and pay attention to your surroundings. read more

The place. Is so much fun to visit. We go every year and it has become a family tradition. Contrary to what Google says. It is open and folks are welcome. The home owners on the street put a lot of effort in each year to make this such a great place to visit during the holidays. It's nice but the other street didn't have that many lights and it's a while off the highway and has dark roads. Be careful for people walking. A lot of people were waking and drinking. Seen a person drunk and was faking over. Parents not watching their kids and very crowded and cars driving while people are trying to look at lights. I definitely won't come again. read more

What's not to love about candy cane lane!! This place along with Lolly pop lane (the next street over) remind me of some of my favorite childhood memories! The residents who make this possible at their own expense are literary Santa's helpers, well that's what I tell my kids lol. Many of the residents hand out candy canes, hot chocolates, popcorn and a number of other free snacks for the kids. I would recommend walking through the streets to get the full experience! These decked out houses are really a work of art! My kids love seeing all the lights and blow up characters on these streets! Going to candy cane lane has been a tradition in my family for years now, and will continue to be. Big thanks to the residents who make this happen every year!!!! read more

I would definitely recommend trying to get there as soon as it gets dark. We went a couple days before Christmas, just after it got dark. It was busy but it was nothing compared to it's peak traffic hours. Definitely worth the trip! They put a lot of effort into their decorations! read more

Was visiting some family in the fairfield area and decided to check this place out and was glad we did. The streets in vacaville are pretty long and every house on the entire street was decorated with christmas lights and unique stuff. It was pretty packed with many people walking along and cars driving by at around 7:30pm on a sunday night. Too bad it was a bit too cold otherwise, we would've walked instead of driving by in our car. If you live in the fairfield/vacaville area, this a must stop place to see and check out. read more

I just saw the news of the very Grinch-like note that came from someone who lives in this so called "jolly" neighborhood. They sent a typed note to one of the neighbors ridiculing them for not putting up Christmas decorations this year. Come to find out, the poor woman who received the letter had just left her mother and god forbid was grieving and wasn't in the mindset to think of decorations. If these are the kinds of people who live here - heartless, and deranged - then it's pretty ironic for what the neighborhood is known for. And the person who wrote the letter left it anonymous. It's that time again! 3 stars because of how bad it gets every year. I have came here for over 15 years every Christmas, sad to see it darker and darker on those two streets every year. I'm sure people move out and move in and maybe some people who live on that street just don't want any part of this and leave there house dim. I'm sure you new comers might enjoy it but those who have been for years realize how much it goes downhill. I hope they do get it together in the years to come. There are two streets to drive down, candy cane (the best and first street to start this tradition) and the connecting street lollipop lane. Sometimes you can catch Santa Claus there and I know they used to give out free hot chocolate while people walk down the streets to check out the decor. 2 houses that never disappoint in all the years are the house with the foil tree and the house with the carrousel in the front yard. For the houses that go all out u all deserve 5 stars and we thank you for keeping the spirit alive for all these years. It's not just your tradition of putting lights up, u guys give our families tradition of coming to see your lights every year. ALSO: travelers to Vacaville there is another very cool display in Vacaville in Browns valley a house is lite up and if you turn your radio to a Christmas station the house lights move to the beat of the music playing in your car.
