My dog is basically my child, and having special images to capture him as he gets older is something that has been particularly important to me. I wanted photos at the beach last year, but wasn't sure where to go this year. She scouted a spot for us and had spots within the park already picked out based on where the light was at that time of the day. She is fun to work with, but also has an amazing way with animals. She also has many creative tools to capture that perfect image of a pet. Once I saw his work I knew he was the one I wanted to photograph our "kids". First off Clarabel, a rescue and our youngest is not usually too keen on men. She becomes nervous and barky when males are around. Foxy isn't that big of a fan either but both of them warmed up to Mark immediately. He must be the dog whisperer of pet photographers. So that is a talent in itself.... Then there are his photos. My goodness. What beautiful work he does. Not only was he able to capture the personalities of our dogs but his editing skills are impeccable. Remember the dirt laden wasteland of my backyard? He exceeded further with nothing less than catching our pet's action moves, still shots and their individual funny facial expression's. Hannah will send daily text messages along with pictures which makes my heart happy. It's always fun to be on vacation, but it's also always stressful too because i miss the fur baby. I know that at the beginning and the first few days that they're a little bit sad and scared, but after the first couple of days, they seemed to warm up nicely to Hannah. We were preparing to embark on a short 4-day trip but it would be the first time we had ever left our dogs behind and I was very nervous about finding a sitter/company that was a good fit for us. From day 1, VIP impressed me with their level of communication and organization. Their online client portal is easy to navigate and great for checking your schedule, pets info, etc. Nancy, their Director of Client Relations, is incredibly detail oriented, great at follow up, and actually does what she says she will do (a rarity in this day and age!). Our assigned sitter, Amber, took amazingly good care of our pups. Her communication was stellar and I felt the entire time that it wasn't "just a sitter" there watching our pups, it felt like a family member was taking care of them. I've been…read morean independent street rescuer for a couple of years, and I can't tell you the number of times I called and emailed dozens of rescue groups around the D/FW Metroplex to ask for assistance in placing a rescued street dog into a foster home. I myself lived in a one-bedroom apartment with my husband and our own 2 dogs at the time (we now live in a house with a fenced yard), so we weren't in a position to foster ourselves. Unfortunately, the vast majority never even bothered to respond to emails, let alone offer assistance. I didn't expect them to jump through hoops to help me, knowing how overwhelmed the rescue community is, but I was hoping for at least some assistance in finding someone who could help us locate a rescue group with room to spare. Referrals, assistance with finding a low-cost vet -- ANYTHING. Even a simple "Sorry, but we can't help you" email would have sufficed. TMHPR is one of the very, very rare few that not only responds to its many, many emails and phone calls, but they also go out of their way to help a sincere rescuer find help. They don't always have the answer, but they work hard to help those who truly want to make a difference. I've since become a volunteer and have helped them redesign their website, launch and maintain an email marketing campaign, and work on fundraising. Even though I live pretty far from their adoption center, I don't mind the commute at all -- not only am I working on a cause I'm truly passionate about, I'm also working with one of the best-run organizations in town. Buyer Beware: Health Issues from Inbreeding…read more We purchased a Maltese puppy from Claudia, but unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing. While the DNA confirmed he's a Maltese, he has curly hair (not typical for the breed), weighs 15 lbs, and suffers from multiple health issues, severe anxiety, back and leg problems--likely due to inbreeding per our veterinarian. Claudia is clearly passionate about her dogs, but she admitted that our dog's parents were purchased from another breeder, which led us to discover they were related. Although Claudia did not intentionally breed for these issues, it's a reminder to be cautious when choosing a breeder. At $2500, we did not expect him to be an inbred puppy. Claudia may not have known about the inbreeding, but we urge potential buyers to carefully consider the breeding practices before purchasing as the genetic health problems have been frustrating.
