Let me start by saying Dr. Desa is amazing. He has been a wonderful doctor to myself and my…read morehusband. I would give 5 stars, but the reception area brings it down. In the past month I have been told that because they forgot to charge me with something (even though I double checked before I left) that I would have to come back in and pay. They called my phone repeatedly, but every time I missed it and would call back, nobody would answer. I offered to pay during my next appointment, but apparently that was unacceptable. I told them there way no way I was driving in to pay because I was on some pretty heavy pain killers and can't walk or drive. Eventually, after arguing with them they attempted to run my credit card over the phone, it worked even though she was adamant it wouldn't work, low and behold it went through. Second time, basically the same thing, but now all of a sudden giving payment info over the phone doesn't go through. There's no concern, and it's always "you need to come in". No, you need to stop making mistakes and pushing me to fix them, especially because there's not really anywhere to park. There's a side street, but no guarantee it has somewhere open. I'm so frustrated with the receptionists I'm considering looking for another doctor. Too bad, Dr. Is the best.

I've been going to this family practice (& walk-in) since 2011 and the only thing that makes it not…read moreworthy of five stars is the ever cycling reception. They had two, recently, leave who were very competent, polite, and endearing workers who were good about their work and took it seriously, they didn't treat it as the in between work it was until they landed whichever medical reception job it was they wanted, or technician, etc. The current reception (as of the first week of August 2018) is disorganized and uninformative. I gave them all the information required of the patient the doctor was to be seeing, without being told the full scope of the process and that the patient could wind up not being seen at all due to the circumstances at hand. I wouldn't have brought this person along with me had I known this was a possibility, because I would have known the possibility would have been a reality and told this person to not bother right now - they are someone who just doesn't have $65 laying around so they can see a family doctor. It was very frustrating for me, as well, because I am not kin to this patient and the reception kept coming to me for information and talking to me and COMPLAINING to me about the situation as if I knew of and had control over what was going on. They were in breach of so many confidentiality agreements by speaking to me on all of these matters and yet this receptionist continued to berate me on the subject as I waited to go in for MY OWN doctor's appointment. Do not go to this clinic for walk-in purposes. Only go if your general practitioner is located here. Otherwise you're playing a game of Russian Roulette on what the reception is going to be like and who it's going to be and how they're going to (mis)treat you during your, hopefully, brief visit. The doctors, however, are fantastic people. It's unfortunate.

I have found…read morethe reception staff courteous and helpful, the technicians more skilled than some I've seen in hospitals (especially when performing echocardiography on a patient with severe pectus excavatum), and Dr. Gupta himself a reassuring clinician with a conservative approach to medicine. Depending on the day, he also has clinics in Scarborough and at Michael Garron, so it's easy to see him in a hurry if you need to. One tip for patients: this is one of those clinics that books multiple patients for the same time, then sees them in order of arrival, so it's best to arrive a little before your appointment time. Street parking is usually easy to find immediately in front of the clinic during operating hours, and is of course free with a handicapped placard.

The ACTUAL address is 837 Danforth Ave. When I brought it to the receptionist attention she did not even acknowledge the mistake or even apologize for sending me to the wrong address. I've never come across a medical institution that was so unprofessional. We pay for proper medical care the least they could do is take a sharpie and cross out the wrong address. To think these people are dealing with patients regarding serious health issues is a bit uneasy. Definitely will be reporting this to the Health Board.

Since it clearly wasn't on the website when I looked at it before I left the house (note: I live 10 min away), I pulled it up again and there was a little note saying "Doctor has taken her last patient for the day". WTF?? I asked him if he thought it was reasonable that I would continue checking their website while riding my bike there and he just stared at me blankly. I mentioned if they state they are open till 5, they should be open till 5 and not close when they feel like it. Needless to say I did not get treated.

My mother was told to try something and come back and when she did, she was told to try something else and come back. It makes you feel like you are part of some trial and error project. Also, when I stated that I had more than one issue - the doctor said "The place is so busy, I can only take one issue at a time. You will have to come back for that issue." To my amazement there was ONE whole patient sitting out in the waiting area. I want to be grateful for our healthcare system, I really do.....but experiences like this just make me wonder about the ethics of doctors. (Hippocrates is probably turning in his grave)

Even though I…read moream working from home now and I am no longer in the downtown core every day, I still make the trip here for all my doctor appointments. I don't understand why people complain about the front desk staff not being friendly chatty etc... they are no there to be your BFFs, they are there to do their jobs... If you want to chit chat, go find yourself some friends! I think they are very efficient and they do their jobs well. Remember that along with checking you in, they are also answering the phone and email and a bunch of other things, so have some patience. For a downtown walk -in, the wait time to see a doctor is very fast. Doctors are great and will take time to listen to your issues. Now with COVID, you have the opportunity to send an email to have a doctor call you back and a doctor calls back within one hour! They can diagnose over the phone and even send emailed prescriptions to your local pharmacy. I really have nothing bad to say about this doctor's office and I truly think it's the best one in Toronto!!

The place is brand new, it's difficult to find if you're new but follow these instructions. From Queen and Yonge (Queen subway Station), walk south until you see the Rexall, then make sure you are on the north east corner of Richmond and Yonge, then walk east. You will see the waiting area of the walkin clinic. Registration took 2 minutes for new patients. The receptionists are very kind and the doctors are competent, efficient, and caring. Other clinics that I've gone to (like Lockwood) make you wait 45 minutes to 1 hour -- sometimes 2 hours, WTF?? That is ridiculous. This clinic is LIGHTNING FAST! ZIP and your DONE. Plus, the Rexall pharmacy is next door!
