This is my closest post office to home. It's in the Shoppers Drug Mart In the north east corner of…read morethe store (used to be south east before the renos). It's an average post office. This outlet is tiny and doesn't offer a lot of packaging options but has a small sampling. Unlike other larger outlets, there isn't really an area that isn't "in line" where you can assemble your parcel or write on it etc without being in the way. So my advice would be to come prepared. Parking wise, weekday evenings are the best time to pick up a parcel so you can park outside the doors. Otherwise you are walking more into the Safeway parking area, dodging cars etc. Especially important if you are picking up a larger item. I rarely find a line up here of more than 1-2 people. Which is good because the staff don't move very fast. They are polite at best but no one is overly friendly or seems to care about the customer. Around Christmas they understandable get extra stressed and have no sense of humour so don't try joking with them (I've tried). One thing to note: A few Christmases now they've told em I don't have enough time to "regular parcel mail" gifts before Christmas and have told me to pay to guarantee delivery. In all cases, the regular parcels I sent got there at the same time as the ones I paid extra for. Of course there are no guarantees but if you are willing to take a chance, you can save a lot of money, especially if you are sending to another major city. They do have some neat collectible stamps available for purchase and boxes for shipping smart phones etc which I haven't seen at some other post offices. That is handy to know!

When I arrived, they told me that I needed to glue it to the parcel, I said that I had never done this in my life because the employees always do it themselves, and the seller started forcing me to buy tape. Lucky for me, however, the man helping me with my 'to be mailed' goods was Al. He is an absolute delight. He not only helped me pack everything up, but he looked up all my options and found the most cost-effective way for me to send my parcel. Al was one of the nicest people I encountered this week and because of his excellent customer service, this post office is now one of my favourites. Got something to send? Go see Al!

The 2 different employees I've seen working here afternoons/evenings are very friendly and efficient - which is probably why there is rarely a lineup.

Sometimes the parking in the lot really sucks however, that's usually because of all the cone lickers that come out here in the summer and spring. Haven't had a problem with my mail yet and picking up parcels is pretty easy. I haven't encountered a lineup of more than one person ever. The folks that work there seem to be permanent fixtures of sorts. I'm sure they've worked there for very long time. The only thing I can complain about is that the boxes there are very small and I get a lot of junk mail. Other than that it's a good place to pick up and drop off mail and it's been recently renovated due to the flood.

I usually get amazing service at this post office but today was quite a jolt to the system. The…read moreboy working there named Matthew was one of the rudest postal persons I have ever met. Not only was he snarky, I literally left his station and drove to another location just to not be served by him. I asked how much a parcel would be to be sent and I already had stamps on it, instead of helping me with the calculations, he stood back while I literally had to fish for my Iphone, turn it on and find my calculator, he watched the whole time. I then mentioned I wanted to use stamps that had been on other envelopes that were not used and he basically snickered and said the post office will not accept those, and then said really curtly I will not be responsible for your package. Finally organising my funds, he literally threw my package to the side with stamps on it to serve another customer. He was so rude I actually made a phone call and complained about him. This Postal outlet is usually great but avoid this boy if he is still there that is.
