Friendly staff at both hotel and attached restaurant and have always been helpful when I have needed things like extra towels, or more coffee or tea for the room. Rooms are a decent size and beds are comfortable with good quality linens and comfortable pillows and blankets, even on the hide-a-beds. Pool and waterslide are awesome, but often very busy so not the best place if you are looking for a relaxing, adult swim or soak in the hot tub. Hotel is not as affordable as others in the area, but they do offer free basic breakfast at the attached restaurant (not sure if it is included with all rooms and rates though) and things like coffee and tea are free in your room. Despite being a busy, popular hotel the check-in process is usually quick and efficient and the rooms are quiet as long as you are not in a room close to the stairwell where you can sometimes hear the stairway door slam. For the most part both the common areas and rooms are clean, however on a recent stay we found a used sock under the heater in the room, as well as food or other stain on the arms of the couch and when we wet a cloth and tried to wipe it off the arm of the couch was so dirty that it turned the white facecloth a dark brown. Despite the cleanliness issues and lack of value when compared to others in the area, it is one of my favorite hotels in Brandon and I would stay here again if it was within my budget. read more

Altos Restaurant (Canad Inns) - Brandon, MB I was surprised and hopeful to hear that Altos brought back their buffets, so I decided to stop in for lunch. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment from start to finish. One look at the main buffet options was enough to turn me away, so I opted for just the Soup and Salad Bar--which turned out to be a mistake: Soups: Bland and watery. The roasted pepper soup tasted like a cheap mix topped with canned tomatoes, and the chicken noodle was filled with overcooked noodles and stringy, unseasoned chicken. Salads: The potato salad lacked flavor, and the pasta salad was completely overpowered by oregano. The mixed greens and Caesar salad options were uninspired, accompanied by low-quality dressings and strange toppings (salty garlic coil slices and cold cuts on a salad bar?). Buffet & Carvery: The station marked as a "carvery" was inexplicably serving pizza, and the server on the line couldn't distinguish between pork tenderloin and ham. Desserts & Fruit: The cobbler looked unappetizing, and the fruit selection looked tired and old. To make matters worse, hygiene and service were severely lacking. I witnessed a manager coughing directly into a server's face without covering her mouth. To top off the experience, despite being told I would receive a discount for only taking the soup and salad option, I was billed for the full buffet on my receipt. Even the exterior reflects the lack of care--overgrown weeds in the flowerbeds and a parking lot that looks like it hasn't been repaired in 20 years. So disappointing. Nothing has changed. read more

Canad Inns - Don't just don't. Go anywhere else. - Hotels Near Me - Brandon, Manitoba

I stayed here twice in the last 6 months. Both times in a family room. The first time they told me the pool was first come first serve. When we went to the pool we were told it was by reservation but the reservations were first come first serve. I asked if they understood that reservations and first cone first serve are very different things. They did not understand. The pool was so chlorinated you couldn't even stand being in the room for more than 10 minutes at a time. Both top bunks were broken and kids had to sleep on the floor. Lights were broken and the remote for the tv in the kids room was missing. They offered me a free stay as compensation. When we went back our room wasn't ready at check in. They gave a family of 6 a $10 coupon for the bar. Basically saying "we can't get our shit together so go waste your money on our crappy food and we'll pay some of the tax." Two and half hours later with us and a half dozen other groups waiting in the lobby for rooms they finally got a room ready. Only because I told them we had ordered pizza and now had jowhere to eat it. After complaining again management got I touch with me and offered me a room at another location. I said fine. Since then I have contacted them twice about it and they are clearly ghosting me. I have stayed at the Portage and Windsor park locations many times and never met with this kind of incompetence. Now that the head office has acted so unprofessionally I won't again. If you absolutely have to stay in Brandon stay anywhere else. If I could give zero stars I would read more

A complete joke. If I could give less stars I would. We booked a family room to take our kids swimming. We swam for our two hour slot at night, the chlorine levels were so high it was difficult to breathe in the pool area. When we left the pool I asked about booking time in the morning. I was told the pool opened at 7am and it was first come first serve. We went down at 8 am and were told it didn't open until 10. We went back at 10 and were told was not first come first serve and that we were supposed to book time the previous night. And the bunk beds were barely usable. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! read more

I have stayed here for both business travel and pleasure. For both, the staff have always been decent, the rooms clean and the pool with water slide a definite HIT if you have kids. Having said all that, I have never once been truly Wow'd ( you know what I mean)! The food has always been mediocre at best. For kids who hang at the the pool~ 5 stars. For parents and business travellers who like the finer things... A solid 3.3 read more

Canad Inns - Three kids . One water slide. 50 times! = Priceless when you know your kids will sleep like rocks in a hotel! - Hotels Near Me - Brandon, Manitoba

When we were first posted to Shilo we arrived before our belongings, so we lived in the Canad-Inns for almost three weeks. We were very relaxed in the hotel - the beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff were pleasant. We had our cat with us for the duration of the stay and the cleaning staff very kindly worked around our schedule so that I could look after the cat while our room was cleaned. There is a one-time pet fee of $25 which was completely worth-it. Even though we were on the pet floor, we never heard a peep from any of our neighbours. Later when we were posted out of Shilo, our belongings left before us and we once again spent a couple nights in the Canad-Inns. Our cat traveled to our new location to stay with family before we arrived, but we since added a dog to our family who stayed with us in the hotel. Again, the staff were very accommodating to our pet. We didn't eat at the restaurant or order room service. We did use the pool which boasts a rather exciting water slide and a kiddie pool as well. I believe there is a fitness facility also. The hotel is conveniently located close to the centre of Brandon, close to the mall and several restaurants. If ever I find myself visiting Brandon again I will choose the Canad-Inns! read more

When you travel on business and you find yourself time and time again back at the same hotel, it must be pretty significant. I really really enjoy my stays at the Canad Inn in Brandon. The lobby is large and bright, with great smelling food wafting from the restaurants. Not to mention, that pool with the water slide is constantly teasing me every time I visit. Canad calls themselves a destination centre. It is no wonder why. With multiple restaurants inside, VLT room, piano lounge, a quasi-water park, and themed rooms, this place is somewhere my parents would have definitely taken me as a kid on vacation. The check in here isnt the fastest so if you are in a huge rush, be aware. If you let them know you are traveling on business I believe there is some kind of discount. Since i'm traveling for business, I'm ALL business. I need a place to rest my head. I find the rooms to be very comfortable, quiet, and the beds are wonderful and soft. The duvets are large and cozy. If you're there to sleep, you've found a gem. The garden cafe serves a great breakfast buffet in the mornings if you are looking for something quick to eat before you head out for the day. The pub's food is okay, it does the trick. The server didnt let us know about the deals so we almost missed out on $1 apps! The spinach dip was not our favourite. She mentioned that the oreo balls(?) are NOT worth it. They had a build your own caesar menu which was the best, and the drink was HUGE. There is always lots of people here which is nice. There is a Keg across the road if you are looking for something a bit more upscale. There is also a Browns Socialhouse nearby which I wanted to try but didnt have time. Overall, I will always stay here while I'm doing Business in Brandon. The beds are comfy and the atmosphere is good. There is a lively nightlife here which makes it worth while when you are needing some social excitement. This west coast biz is this Ontario girls new fave. read more

If you can stay somewhere else while in Brandon, you should do so. A front desk, and room service that almost never answers thier phone, 5$ delivery fee for room service that does not include gratuity and uncomfortable beds. Had to also go downstairs multiple times during my stay to get service, as no one was picking up. read more

We have just stayed at the Canada Inns Brandon hotel, when we arrived my friends and I put down our bags. The bunk beds in room 202 weren't that comfy, especially the bottom bunk, but you would finally drift off to sleep at 12. I do recommend coming here because, they have a pool, slide, PS4, and good employees. The bunk bed room had an extremely small tv. Few doors down the hallway, our friends experienced someone in the elevator around 11. When they went back to their room they heard knocking next door, so they call us. We were scared. Also if you be quiet at night, you can hear a ticking sound at night for a few minutes. My friend elbowed the wall and it stopped. When we woke up I felt a little itchy even ever sense I got their, maybe it's just my first time being in a hotel. Also in the drawer their is a bible with a some ripped pages. I was kinda creeped out. Overall, If you find better rooms go to then the hotel is good in general. read more

Very accommodating hotel. There are multiple restaurants in the lobby, and the pool area is one of the best. The area includes 2 hot tubs, a kiddie pool, a large lap pool, and a slide. Rooms are nice and clean. Staff are friendly, and do their jobs. The hotel is attached to the Keystone Center, so it is very accessible for WHL games, Ag days, or other such events. It is in walking-distance if the mall, and even downtown. If you do not like the choices of food in the lobby, then the hotel is very close to other restaurants like the Keg, Forbidden Flavours, Gondola Pizza and more. It is comfortable and clean. Great place to stay in Brandon! read more

Again for the third year in a row while attending a convention here over the weekend stayed here. Over all an OK hotel with a fridge coffee pot and microwave. Comparing to other I stayed at it seems a little pricey, however was well located for what we were was doing. We were in a theme room to get the double bunk beds for the kids we had along(they get there own small room). The room was clean and nice enough all the basics I expected where there. The only issue I had was the water slide was not working this time, and the kids were looking forward to it. Depending on who comes next year I may be back read more

I've been staying at the Canad Inns Brandon for a number of years for work. I've found it's slowly gone downhill in that time. It's a fairly new building with many amenities. It has a pool and water slide which are visible from 18th street. There are two attached restaurants, Aaltos and The Tavern. The rooms are always clean but have not been updated since the hotel was built in the 90's. The TVs are dated and the wireless internet is below average speed. The beds are reasonably comfortable but are beginning to show their age. They have not done a good job keeping up on maintenance and many things are beginning to fall apart. In the room I'm in right now, one of the electrical outlets is broken but still in use, the bath faucet and drain are both broken and the heater/AC unit is noisy. The walls are quite thin, enough that the alarm in the room next to me wakes me up every morning. You could do worse but for the price they charge, the Canad is no bargain. The difficult part is finding better options in Brandon. read more

I didn't actually stay in this hotel, but I did have an experience that grants a good review. We tried to book a room at this hotel, but their posted rate and their billed rate were different. We didn't complete the transaction, and instead found a different hotel at a much better rate. We assumed that was the end of it, however a couple days later we received a phone call from them explaining we didn't show up for our room, and we're being billed a no-show fee. We were quite confused, trying to figure out what happened, and they said they would call us back later. We were already heading back to our current hotel, so we decided to stop in and talk to them, we were ready for a confrontation. When we walked into the front desk, we waited for less than 2 minutes while the desk staff helped other customers, when it was our turn, the girl at the desk was the one who called us less than 20 minutes prior, she explained that it was an error on their part, and they already refunded the charges, she just didn't have time to call because they had people walk in. That's it, DONE! Super friendly, Super polite, Super fast! Had the room rate matched we might have stayed there, but the city was full for events, so they may have raised their rates because of that? Regardless, they get my good review! read more
