Absolutely brilliant Tapas place. But let me preface this review with some information: we came in…read morehere yesterday (November 1) which is technically the end of the season. This shouldn't really matter BUT, the chef who is here at the end of the season was not here during the summer season, so I can't speak to how delicious everything was this summer, and whether it will stay at this yummyness level next summer. You have been warned! As of now and for the rest of the winter it seems, the Food will be as close to perfect as tapas can be. My wife and I came in here with a couple of friends and just ordered almost everything they had on the menu. Everyone ordered their own Pan Bao, and we basically split everything else. We got Eggs Paesa, lamb sandwiches, scallops, chicken wings, beef cheeks, and the lamb which I believe was pan roasted? It's easier to talk about the stuff that wasn't perfect that the stuff that was, so let's start there. My Pan Bao, even though it had great flavor, the pork belly that they used was mostly fat. It was really just being unlucky because my wife's Bao had a much better meat to fat ratio. The mini lamb sandwiches were fantastic too, but I felt like they needed some sort of sauce. Maybe some sort of spicy sauce would have helped? That's just a personal thing because it was really juicy and flavorful, so it's not like it was dry. I just wish that maybe it was spicy. Everything else however, was flawless...even the wings and the sauce they came in were fantastic. Best wings I've had on the island. The scallops came with a great sauce as well. The beef cheeks were magical! Super soft with a great gravy and mashed potatoes. Even the Eggs Paesa (Huevos de Payes) were perfect. flavorful mushrooms and the right amount of foam at the top. We ate a LOT of tapas! For dessert my wife ordered the chocolate lava cake which comes served over vanilla ice cream. If you've read my reviews you know I'm not a sweets/desserts guy but I tried it anyway. It was far too much sweet/chocolate for me but if you even remotely like that stuff it would be your favorite dessert. My wife devoured it! I'm surprised she even let me get a little spoon of it! One thing I will say about this place is that it's not VERY cheap. Our food with a couple glasses of wine (and a few beers for our friends) came out to about 38EUR per person. For tapas that seems like a bit to me. But I don't mind spending my money If I can eat well. And eat well I did. I can't believe I've lived a few min away from this place for months and never went here! Well I guess there is a first time for everything!

This was the best place to go on our anniversary day too, because my wife and I had eaten nothing all day, and were starving. So the only perscription? MEAT! I didn't want to concern myself with the starters, even though the empenada came highly recommended, and when someone from our table ordered it and tried it, she let you a "YOOOOO" so loud it reminded me of being back in NYC! No matter, my Entrecot (Steak) was worth the wait. What I will say though, if they have dipping sauces that come separately. and they are actually on the back of the menu and you can't even find them on a few menus online. Be sure to order those. DONT FORGET! The mushroom sauce for us was the standout but they were all really flavorful. This is one of the highest rated restaurants on the whole island, and when you come here to eat it's easy to see why. It is fantastic!

We were seated and given the conventional bread and aoili with olives. The aoili I thought was once of the better ones in town. Not sure if they make it or not, but it was very good. The food is good. It has a wide variety of food on the menu. I had the "CORDERO AL HORNO EN REDUCCIÓN DEL MISMO Y ROMERO" . It was rosemary lamb with some sauce and accompaniments. A tomato, some potatoes, some vegetables. I also saw a lot of people order a hot stone steak. Where they come out with raw steak and it's cooked at the table on a hot stone. Maybe next time I'll try that. It's a great place that gets really busy. Call ahead for a table. Go there for a nice meal.

I can't believe that after all these years of coming here I never wrote a review! Insane. Well…read morelucky for you, I was just here last night, having a drink at sunset and thought, hey have I written a review for one of my favorite places on the island? First of all, this place IS indeed difficult to get into. By the end of June it is reservations only for basically the entire day so call in advance so you can definitely get a seat. The place is a "chiringuito" but it's German style seating (the owner is German so that makes sense) so if you have a small group you may have to share a large table with another group. No problem. The entire point of the German style seating is you can talk to everyone! The food is great and it's really only a lunch place. People generally don't show up here to eat after like 6PM, but it stays packed until it closes after sundown. And what a sundown you get too! There are few places on earth where you can catch a sunset nicer than El Tiburon. As someone else mentioned, it's not a cheap place: it's located in the most popular part of Formentera (Ses Illetes) and regularly attracts celebrity clientele (Ruud Gullit was also there yesterday having lunch) which is why a reservations is quite necessary. If you don't have one, you can still order a drink at the walk up bar and then just sit on the beach and enjoy it. That's very much allowed too. DJ Lorenzo Al Dino is there spinning all the deep house and dance music you need on Wed and Saturdays and at sunset the place turns into a party on most evenings! It's a great vibe and a great time and one of the true Formentera staples. Get involved!
