Our son started at LAIPT with some sensory concerns and gross motor and motor planning delays, but has transformed since starting therapy. He has much better regulation, attention span, and body strength, and his motor planning has improved tremendously - I no longer worry he's going to run into walls or fall off things. All of this improvement we owe to our wonderful team at LAIPT. Maxine is also wonderful and works with us to make sure everything fits into our kiddos busy therapy schedule. The space is wonderful as well - very clean, and each therapy room is spacious and filled with so much great equipment and toys. The PT space is a literal gym and our son loves going there because it's basically a playground for him.

They've made such a positive impact on both of my sons and our whole family. Miss Katie (our OT and the clinic manager) is not only caring and patient but also extremely knowledgeable and professional. One of my sons has high sensitivity to smells and used to vomit a lot. After working with Miss Katie for just half a year, his vomiting has improved significantly--the frequency is much lower because he's learned strategies to avoid situations that trigger him. Katie always goes above and beyond to support each of my boys' unique needs, whether it's fine motor skills or sensory exploration. She communicates clearly, provides us with helpful home strategies, and even brings snacks sometimes to make the boys feel comfortable. My kids have grown so much under her care, and they absolutely adore her. Miss Tawny (clinic supervisor) is also the best. She keeps everything running smoothly--always on top of paperwork, scheduling, and last-minute changes. She goes out of her way to accommodate us, which is such a relief since I'm juggling OT and speech for two kids. She makes the logistics stress-free so I can focus on the boys' progress. Together, Miss Katie and Miss Tawny make the clinic feel like family. My boys are always excited to go, which makes therapy not only effective but also fun. We feel incredibly lucky to have them for our OT journey!

My four-year-old Leo B. is an extremely picky eater, and when I asked his pediatrician for advice,…read moreshe suggested he see an occupational therapist. As it turns out, there aren't a ton of occupational therapists in Los Angeles who deal with picky eating. SPOT For Kids was the only place in our network that even purported to offer feeding therapy, and after a few months of driving to and from Westwood at annoying afternoon hours, I'm not entirely convinced of their expertise in this area. SPOT For Kids does seem to provide other kinds of occupational therapy, and they are well equipped with toys and play equipment to keep children engaged. Everyone we dealt with was very nice and very good with kids. I had a couple problems with the office. Our appointments got moved around a lot, despite a standing weekly time slot that I'd communicated to my son's school. We also had to bring a short list of food items to each appointment, and I never got that list before the day of, when I'd have to make a special trip to the store in addition to the drive to Westwood. It should've been easy enough to communicate that list in advance, when I might have incorporated it into our weekly shopping. Leo, though, always enjoyed his visits. He spent most of them playing and easing in, but he did develop a nice rapport with his therapist. She was great with him, and did a good job explaining the basics of feeding therapy to both me and my son. Mostly, this involved a couple of infographic charts about the steps to feeding, nothing I hadn't seen before. She worked with Leo by getting him to talk about and touch and engage with various foods, if with limited success. To be fair, she warned me that feeding therapy is slow and frustrating. But after months with no new foods, I decided to try something else. I signed up for an online course with a pediatric dietitian who specializes in picky eating (Jenny Friedman, if you're interested), and while this wasn't magic either, it was obvious that she had a deep familiarity with picky eating that the folks at SPOT just didn't possess. I think Leo was their only feeding therapy client while we were there, and while they were happy to keep going, I don't know that they added anything to the feeble attempts we were already making at home. This might not be their fault, of course. Leo spent like 45 minutes a week in OT, and we weren't doing everything right the rest of the time. It's quite possible that no amount of expertise can make a cheese and pasta child eat meat and vegetables before he's ready. All I know is SPOT For Kids was not our answer.

I have been living with POTS for six years. When I moved to LA, I came across Re+Active Clinic…read moreonline. Their website looked impressive, and they claimed to specialize in neuro rehab and retraining the nervous system with PTs and OTs. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. It felt like the staff did not actually understand POTS or how the postural component affects patients. The "treatment" I received was very basic -- simple exercises anyone could find online, instructions to ice my neck, and even being told to imagine a memory from when I wasn't in pain while icing. That is not sustainable or effective treatment for a complex condition. The people themselves were kind, and they did offer me some financial consideration, but the overall pricing was still very high. I ended up spending thousands of dollars -- essentially my entire savings -- and walked away with no real progress or useful strategies. I feel I gained nothing beyond what I already knew. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking serious help for POTS. For me, it was a costly detour that left me starting over in my search for real, effective treatment.

If you are reading this review it's because you or a love one is being referred here and you want…read moreto know as much as possible on where you are going. I understand because I did the same thing. Early September my Dad suffered a stroke and the doctors at Cedar Sinai said my Dad was a candidate to come here. So naturally I looked CRI up. Lots of mixed reviews so I can only tell you about our experience. Out of the 18 days my Dad was there, I was with him for 16 of those day & nights. So here it goes for my Dads stay on the 6th Flor - Nurses are amazing. Hilda, Ellin, Nellie and they went above and beyond every single time they were with my Dad. They were very kind. - Melissa from Food Services was kind, attentive and always making sure my Dad knew what food options he had. She's amazing! - Sonia with House Keeping, always making sure we had everything we needed. Including me. - Therapist: Jackie (PT), Laurent (OT) and Hailey (ST) did everything they can to help my Dad get better. They were patient & kind. NOW THESE PEOPLE WENT ABOVE & BEYOND FOR MY DAD. Physical Therapist: Lindsay & Josh. You both stood out above the rest. Josh was in training and he did great! Lindsay you are INCREDIBLE! Thank you for encouraging and pushing my Dad! You really made him work while also training Josh. He's going to be amazing because of you! I appreciate you both so much for pouring into my dad. Having you for therapy would always bring a big smile to his face. Nurse Assistant: JEREMY! This man needs a RAISE! Out of everybody there he spent the most time with my dad. He gained my dad's trust and my dad loved him. He was always kind, funny, attentive. He always made sure my dad was comfortable and was patient with him and took his time with whatever he needed. He was also very respectful not only to me but to my dad. Treated him like a really good human. I will be eternally grateful I will never forget him. If you have made it this far, one of the biggest suggestions I can give to you is make sure you are there to advocate for your loved one. If you notice I have not named any of the doctors because I had a terrible experience with the first assigned doctor. Terrible bed side manner and in and out like a toaster oven. I had to remove him from my Dads. I did get to speak with the medical director CHRISTOPHER BADOUKIAN however it seamed more like a "save face" room call so I wouldn't file a grievance against Dr. Shin for minimizing, my dad's symptoms and delaying care. Regardless I still give this place five stars because of the wonderful THERAPIST & SUPPORT STAFF they have here. They truly wanted me Dad to get better. ADVICE. ADVOCATE for yourself and your loved one. DON'T LET THE DOCTORS RUSH YOU & SPEAK UP. If you or your loved one put in the work, YOU WILL SEE PROGRESS. Still 5 Stars.

I am in the medical field and I have learned a lot from the nurses from wound care to drawing blood. The nurses were very supportive and gladly shared their knowledge to me.
