The store is right next to the Yale bookstore. It has a lot of unique apparels, accessories and souvenirs, both for Yale academic departments and sports teams, that are not available in the official bookstore. Prices are understandably high, got a magnet that was around $16. They customize a lot of the items. Quality of the products vary based on their types. The store is mostly clean, but feels little cramped due to smaller aisles. read more

Working with Campus Customs was awful. There is no way to reach anyone there, they don't respond to emails. Had several problems with the order, long delays and almost didn't get the merch before the event. Clueless, unorganized and lack of communication! Will never use again! read more

Great store for anything Yale! Clothes, trinkets, mugs, and class rings even. I'm really confused by the low ratings from other reviews? I had great experience here and I came here several times! As each time I wanted to get some additional cute Yale-themed swag..I got a super comfortable soft sweatshirt, presents for family, mugs/keychain/bracelets, workout pants and shorts, and more! They have a fitting room in the store too (that didn't properly lock on my first visit but got improved by my last :)). Staff were friendly and helpful too and there's a 10% discount for Yale students and military members. read more

Ordered a tank and sweatshirt on March 24th and still not received anything nor have I received any communication from CC. I've followed up numerous times and feel like I'm being ignored. I understand this is a tricky time and we are all super busy due to COVID but a response or refund would be appreciated. As a business owner myself, I could never imagine just flat out not responding to my customers. I finally received a response (within 10 minutes) when I notified CC that I will be contacting my bank and filing a dispute. Horrid customer experience. read more

This shop has really reasonable prices and an extensive selection of Yale gear. I wasn't sure if it is an official store, but it says "officially licensed Yale store" on the front. The clothes don't look any different than the ones at the B&N next door, so that's good enough for me. I picked up a crewneck sweatshirt as a gift for $27, which is really reasonable for university attire. They had all kinds of generic campus wear, plus for all of the sports teams and for each of the specific schools. The workers were standoffish (no one offered to help me find anything), but they were perfectly friendly when I checked out. read more

I ordered a sweatshirt and was so excited to find something not available at the Yale bookstore down the block. Well I have yet to receive it and it's now 10 days after the indicated delivery date. I have called several times and the voicemail is full. I have emailed and received no response. Now that I'm reading these other Yelp reviews, I see that this poor custom service is not an isolated incident. So very disappointing, and now I need to figure out how to get my money back. Unbelievably bad customer service. I ordered an embroidered Patagonia fleece in early November--it's now mid-April and I still don't have it. Whenever I call to ask when it will be available, they say "it should be any day now.." or that the item is backordered. All it takes is a quick hop to the Patagonia store next door (and check online) to know that is a lie. No offer to refund me, no offer of conciliation for the unreasonably long wait time, not even an apology. At this point I feel like they just took my money with no plan to deliver on the product. I ordered and paid for---but never received---a Yale Law Jacket J317 on October 20, 2018. The transaction occurred at Yale Law School, where Campus Customs was selling YLS gear for homecoming weekend. Because Campus Customs did not have a size medium in stock, I paid and ordered one then. The Campus Customs representatives assured me it would arrive in about two weeks, in time for Thanksgiving. The jacket never came. When I went to the Campus Customs New Haven store on 57 Broadway Street, I talked to a middle-aged woman with blonde hair who asked me to write down my contact information and she would contact me with an update "today or tomorrow." I never heard from her. I went back a week or so later and talked to the same woman. She told me there was a delay in my order, but that many other orders were delayed. She again asked me to write down my contact information and she would contact me in the next day or so. Again, she never did. I found this extremely frustrating and began to wonder if she was deliberately brushing off my order. Hoping I would somehow "forget it." I went back at least two more times. I went back around the first week of December, anxious if the jacket would get in time for Christmas. It is a gift for my dad. The same middle-aged blonde woman assured me that it would "definitely" get in time for Christmas and arrive in New Haven "next week." Of course it did not. I went back the next week. And the same woman told me it would definitely arrive by Christmas, but offered to change the mailing address so it would arrive at my parent's house instead of New Haven (so he would be able to open it on Christmas). It never arrived. And no update from Campus Customs. Looking back on my interactions with the employee, I feel she deliberately brushed aside my concerns. She was always very quick to tell me she would "look into it" and get back to me but never did. This is very unprofessional and I will now buy from B&N instead. read more

The incompetency at this store is staggering. I ordered a Patagonia fleece that was supposed to be embroidered on Thanksgiving. I also ordered some other clothes for family members for Christmas. I didn't get the gifts until two month s after Christmas and didn't receive my fleece till four months later. Not even mentioning the two month delay in getting my family's gifts (causing me to have to buy them other stuff), I ordered a Patagonia fleece and kept inquiring every two weeks when it would be ready. They kept saying every two weeks it would be ready in two weeks. Then by the time March rolled around, I was getting sick of the lies. I asked them what was going on. They said there was a nationwide shortage of these fleeces. Of course I cancelled my order and walked over two store fronts to the Patagonia store where I was able to purchase a fleece that was shipped to New Haven two days later. Then I walked over to bring the fleece over to Campus Customs to get embroidered. Naturally they couldn't do it that same day, so they said that they would email me when it was ready. After several days, I didn't receive any email. So I walked to the store and asked WTF was going on. They said that they hadn't done it yet, but that it would definitely be done first thing in the morning. They again asked me what I wanted embroidered, which was in my original order, but I reminded them and wrote it down again. The next day I got an email saying it was ready so I went to Campus Customs and they said they didn't embroider the fleece because they didn't know what to write (which at this point I had told them multiple times over several months). Then I come back the next day (they promised it would be done at this point). They couldn't find the fleece for almost an hour, and then found it. But it hadn't been embroidered and then they asked me what I wanted embroidered!!!! At this point it felt like I was being trolled so I demanded that they embroider the fleece on the spot. Then when they said that wasn't possible, I demanded that they do it in the morning and have one of their employees drive it to my place of work before noon. They finally did this. The absolute worst customer service and most inept business I've ever dealt with. DO NOT SHOP HERE! read more

They have a great selection and the potential to be great, but they lack in customer support. Timeframes for customized products lag and when e-mailed for order status updates, they may or may not respond. I ordered a jacket 2 months ago and the product is still on back order. The last correspondence between myself and one of the owners is still pending and he was supposed to get back to me with an estimated "back in stock" date, but I haven't heard back from him after 2 follow-up e-mails to check on status. So overall, not a satisfactory experience. They do however do great work if you are able to receive your item. I may cancel my jacket order in another month or two if I don't hear anything and try to repurchase next fall or winter (if it ever becomes available). read more

I ordered from this establishment on October 18, 2019, 3 t shirts and a knit hat. Was told my order would arrive on November 1, 2019. It is now December 29, 2019 and have not received my order. I have called numerous times just to be greeted with a voice mailbox that is full. I have emailed several times to zero response. I cannot stress enough to not order from this joke of a place. Upon placing an order, you are charged, so items are already paid for with no prospect of ever receiving them in the foreseeable future. Would receive zero stars if that was an available option. read more

Poor customer service, told it was gonna talk a month to process. From the time you order to embroidery it can take up to 3 months and everything is standard shipping. Highly recommend buying your gear and getting someone else to embroider. They try to say the process is slow, but honestly it's an excuse. read more

Two ladies saved the day for me. My son is attending a summer conference at Yale and I wanted to get him a t-shirt. The one I found and liked was not available in his size. I looked in the Yale Bookstore. They were kind enough to check in the back but were completely sold out. I then proceeded to Campus Customs where we weren't able to find it on the shelf. Maria and LaShay came to the rescue and found a shirt on display in the size I needed!! These two ladies were extremely pleasant and incredibly helpful. They absolutely made my day! read more

I dont usually write reviews but I am compelled to do so now because of the outstanding follow up by New Haven store manager Thomas Barrett. On Sunday, May 9th, I stopped in to campus customs in Néw Haven , on my way to catch a flight out of Bradley. I took a few small items with me but asked the clerk who assisted me to mail the bulkier items. I caught my flight hone to Florida. The following week I received 1/2 of my order but not the other half. I emailed the address provided and quickly received a response indicting that someone would look into this and get back to me. Another week passed and I sent a second email and this time the store manager contacted me to let me know he would check on this the first thing on Monday mornin. I had spent $250 on Yale merchandise and I really wanted to make sure I received what I had selected. On Monday late morning, Mr. Barrett called and emailed me to let me kn that he had found my items in the shipping department and for some reason the second box hadn't been mailed with the first. True to his word, the box was mailed in Monday and I received my items today. I was relieved to get the items I ordered and thankful for the excellent job done by Mr. Barrett to resolve the problem.
