I'm obsessed with the range across the menu. You can really get anything here, and it will probably be pretty good. The grilled chicken hibachi was excellent, 5/5. The Pad Thai was overly sweet for my tastes, but the chicken was good and there were fresh peanuts and a wedge of lime with it - 4/5. The short rib sandwich appeared to have several nice ingredients layered as far as toppings, and I don't doubt the quality of ingredients, however the flavors just weren't right. It should've been real short rib- shredded- instead of dry and thinly sliced short rib? 3/5. The fries on the side were great though, 5/5. I'd come back! Looks like they have a patio for nice days too.

Big time, baby!! In those 58 years, the exterior has not changed except for a patio on the back side. The men's room is really small; much like Texaz Grill in Phoenix!! No door on the toilet stall to this day. Seating area has same setup; booths and tables appear to have been replaced over those years. Dagwood's offers 10 or more draft beers today. The classic MIchelob is absent. I had ham and bean soup, cheeseburger and fries. The soup is homemade and just what I wanted. Burgers are all smash-style; cooked to order and still juicy. To me, the fries are the hit; hand-cut fresh potatoes fried to order and great! Saturday afternoon was a little spotty but they got the job done. Dagwood's is a classic college dive bar with good food cooked behind the bar for all customers to see.

Fresh meat, flat top grill that has been well seasoned over decades (I'm assuming it's not new) of use. I think one of the reasons I've been so thrilled with the recent smash burger uprising is because they remind me so much of these style of pub burgers. Coming back 30 years later, I can't say that much has changed. The burger was still delicious, the service was still solid and if you love dive bars and old classic pubs as much as I do, the decor was solid and pleasing. You get what you see here, there is nothing fancy, but everything is great. If you love burgers (or wings which are also yummy but drumstick style) this is an absolutely underrated spot to get a basic bacon cheeseburger and fries. Apparently it's owned by the guys who own Lou & Harry's, and it opened in 2021. I guess I must have passed by without noticing it. I'm glad we stopped in because the food was really good. The menu specializes in cheesesteak hoagies and burgers, so I was excited to try a cheesesteak as we don't have a ton of options for them in Grand Rapids. We got the pazzo: Shaved ribeye steak, grilled onion, banana pepper, Jalapeno pepperjack cheese, pepperoni, and ranch marinara. You can upgrade to a combo which comes with fries and a drink, which we did. We got the cajun fries, but you can get waffle fries, ranch fries, or cheese fries. Our food was ready really quickly and it was super hot and fresh. The sandwich was big enough to split for a decent sized meal. There was quite a bit of meat and all the toppings worked well together. It was definitely greasy and pretty messy, and really salty - but I liked it. It's not something I could order regularly, but it was so tasty. The fries were fresh, thin cut, and the cajun seasoning was also really salty. If you're sensitive to salt - maybe avoid this spot. The bread of the sandwich got a little soggy, but it wasn't completely falling apart, which was good. This place is open late on the weekends and would be great for intoxicated or hungover college kids. They were doing quite a few Grubhub orders while we were there - I don't think I'd recommend this as delivery food as the sandwiches probably get pretty soggy if left to sit for too long. I'd come back and try more of the sandwiches.

It was quite salty, but I guess that's to be expected. The chips were fresh and crispy and I liked that they give you some crostini as well. The drink prices were wild -- I got a large (maybe 20 oz) seltzer for $3!! I couldn't believe it. Service was friendly, basketball games were on the TVs, and I liked our visit. I love Nigerian food and have tried many restaurants, so I know what I like and what I don't. When…read moreI heard about a new Nigerian restaurant in East Lansing, I was excited to give it a try. When I arrived, I was the only customer. I was greeted with a simple "hello," which gave me a good first impression. The restaurant itself looks very new, with a decent amount of seating, including some lounge seating tucked away in a small hallway. There was a large TV on wheels displaying a slideshow of the menu, which was a bit unconventional but not necessarily a bad thing. At the register, I started asking the cashier a few questions to understand the menu better. The layout was different from other Nigerian restaurants I've been to, and I wasn't seeing the exact dishes I usually order. However, instead of being helpful, the cashier responded with a snarky attitude, making it feel like my questions were an inconvenience. He then suggested the Spartan Bowl, listing the ingredients, and I thought it sounded good. He mentioned needing to check if they had the drumsticks for it, then walked away. I stood there waiting for a while before assuming he had gone to prepare my order, so I sat down. About 10-15 minutes later, he returned with a box in his hand. Without a word, he rang up my order, I paid, he bagged my food, and he simply walked away. No "thank you," no "enjoy your meal," no effort to make me feel welcome--just silence. When I looked at my meal, it didn't look appetizing, but I kept an open mind. Unfortunately, the taste confirmed my concerns. The plantain was overcooked and burnt, the sauce on the chicken was unpleasant, and the chicken itself was tiny and unappealing. The only redeeming part of the meal was the jollof rice, which was just decent. I won't be returning. The poor customer service and disappointing food made for an overall bad experience. I hope they improve both their hospitality and their food quality because first impressions matter. If you're curious, I'd say try it for yourself--but as of now, I can't personally recommend it.

In college, my friends and I took advantage of the delivery almost every time we went out. After a long night, we wanted nothing more than to go home and order Conrad's. They have a wide selection of wraps that has something for everyone. I would recommend any of their chicken tender wraps. Get home and fall asleep? Don't worry, they open at 11am just in time for you to order. My personal favorite was a Sunrise Wrap (add bacon). This consisted of eggs, cheese, bacon, and tater tots all wrapped in a crispy tortilla. I am also a fan of the French toast wrap (get a side of maple syrup). The wraps are reasonably priced $11-14. They are decently sized and I often had left overs. They heat up nicely in an air fryer! My friends and I have been happy customers for years now and if you are in the area, you must check them out. They also have another location in Lansing.
