He explained what he'd do, gave me a verbal quote (it was a lot, but I had asked for a lot, and it didn't seem higher than it should be), took a few days to write it up, and returned with a written quote to review. While he hadn't captured our entire conversation on the quote, our continued discussion made me feel comfortable enough to proceed. I was not disappointed. He and his crew cut down a 50- to 60-foot hedge, ground it so it wouldn't return, trimmed up some trees, cut back and cleaned out some other bushes, cleaned up growth along my fence line, removed some landscaping stone (a lot more than either of us expected, as there was a ton in the hedge), removed a whiskey barrel planter, and told me how to take care of my mom's 55-year-old rose bush. The crew worked so hard, and the result was perfect. He added no charges for the surprise landscaping stone, and I was thankful. I recommend Southfork Tree, especially because Doug is hands-on. It's not one guy giving you a quote and hiring some other guys to do the work without supervision. You don't have to wonder if everything was communicated, because he's there, working the whole time.
