I was anticipating the 3-tiered tray with a medley of sweets but instead he brought out a tray with 3-4 desserts of which we could only have one. They were regular-sized portions, not minis. We chose different ones -- mine was a fig tart and my partner chose something foofier with creams and such. We sort of shared. I liked her mascarpone topping on my fig tart. Yum!

I knew right away it was were we needed to stay for our first time in Paris. We could not have asked for anything better. From Antoinette in the sales department, to Clelia and the entire staff, it was the most incredible experience we have ever had. Contrary to some of the reviews, the room we had was not small, in fact, it was bigger than most of the rooms we stay in here in the USA. The service was exceptional on all levels. Until this morning, I have never cried when leaving a hotel, I was even given a hug goodbye this morning. If you get a chance to experience what we did, enjoy it immensely.

The Al fresco dining is perfect for people watching over a cup of coffee or lunch. It's the quintessential French cafe. Service was fantastic. My French is embarrassing to say the least, luckily our server had lived all over the world and was well versed in five languages. Everything was delicious and all that we'd hoped it would be.

For 10 euro, the morning finds breakfast on the first level. Rolls, coffee and of course yogurt will greet you for a quick meal but if you are expecting eggs and toast, forget it. Parisians are happy with a small and quick breakfast and I could definitely get use to this also. Although you can also go a few doors down to the bakery and get your fill for less of course. We were also lucky that across the street there is a small grocery store that stays open late, so we were able to stop and pick up a few things to snack on. Location is also closes enough to walk to many attractions/neighborhoods. This is a HUGE plus. Rooms are very small, which is pretty much the standard for Paris (unless you have that kind of $$$, which I don't). The rooms are really pretty though, decorated nicely. Other amenities: with a kettle for making coffee and tea, a small fridge, a blow dryer, a flat screen TV, a pant press (old school), towel warmer and the outlet in the bathroom has a converted 2-prong outlet that you can use to plug in a flat iron, phone charger, etc. Breakfast was 10 euros - they had a nice selection to choose from, however here's the thing - you can go to the boulangerie next door and get something for much less. I chose to eat at the hotel because I needed coffee and the coffee there was probably the best I could find, this is a big deal to me because it was a real struggle to not only find a good cup of coffee in Paris, but a large (by US measure) cup of coffee that wasn't expensive. I know, it sounds nuts, but coffee addiction is a beast!! Not to take away from everything else though - it was very good, replenished often and again - all you can eat. Staff were all very friendly, willing to assist us with everything, five stars for them! The only minor issue we had was with the housekeeping - and that may have been just a miscommunication. The room in general was cleaned for sure - bathroom was spotless, but the cups we used for coffee/tea were not washed - until we placed them in the sink, and the coffee/tea creamer were not replaced. Maybe we had to ask? I don't know, but that was minor. I would love to stay here again - hopefully I will get to, very soon!

The Stalingrad metro station is very close and you can each it by foot (1 minute walk). The breakfast costs extra and consists of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, a croissant and a small baguette with butter and jam, so you might want to save the money for that Free unternet access is useful for those who want to be up to date or make/change plans spontaneously. There's a parking close to the hotel which costs 10EUR/day, ask the hotel's staff for details. You can also leave your car at Parking Goutte d'Or, which is a 5 min walk away from the hotel and cost 47EUR per week (get your week ticket upon arrival at the parking office). I would recommend this hotel to people who are on a budget and don't need any extras.

Same breakfast everyday. BTW, the plain breakfast croissant was amazing!! Sadly I did not discover it until my last day... I have been eating chocolate croissants... Which is wonderful after you are exhausted after traveling. This hotel is tiny. The rooms are decorated in a fashion that reminds me of a funeral home. Depressing, dark and smelly. Tons of stupid rules. I feel like a child all over again being told no no no. I don't recommend this hotel at all. Spend your money elsewhere. Guiallme will surely see you have an awful stay.

The hotel is very close to 2 metro stations and a good overall Paris location. Rooms are smaller than what you might expect in the US (welcome to Paris), but really give a great local feel. Accomodations are simple, yet elegant. You really get a classic, historic feel about the building. Walk down the road to the Monoprix Supermarket, grab wine, cheese, bread, macaroons, and put them your room fridge. When you stop by the hotel in the late afternoon, you're all set for a little break. This hotel is a great place to call your temporary home in Paris whether you're on business or vacation. If you're looking to go more upscale, there is an impressive, modernist Rennaisance (Marriott) across the street; not sure what the pricing is there but certainly a bit more. The beds are decent, but not super supportive. I believe the hotel has both heat and air conditioning (some places in Europe do not hav A/C for you newbies). Breakfast is usually included in the Hotel Ceramic price (as for many Western Europe hotels)...The lady working the breakfast nook is really kind. You get a bread basket filled with croissants, pastries, nutella, butter, jam plus they have yogurt, coffee, juices. You can customer order eggs for a bit extra. They planted an empty bottle of champagne in my room and accused me of drinking alcohol so they could charge my card when I don't drink alcohol. Manager, Julien Humbert, became verbally and physically abusive and threatened to charge my card with further items as soon as I left the hotel. He then verbally and physically assaulted me calling me an "uneducated, poor, disgusting thief." I had to call the police. They were reported to the Fraud department and I have started legal proceedings.

Unfortunately, during our three day stay here, lots of things went wrong…read more - Upon check in, we were asked to provide a security deposit, which of course is normal and expected. However, their card machine did not work. We tried many different cards, all of which were working normally, but we were still blamed which was extremely embarrassing when surrounded by other guests. Fifteen minutes later, we were told "not to worry" and never had to provide a deposit. - The room was literally back-to-back with the elevator of the hotel. A little bit of noise is of course totally understandable in a hotel but we could hear the elevator shaft every time it was used, and this was hugely disturbing of our sleep. - Very concerningly, we received a letter that was intended for another guest. This is obviously a huge breach of confidentiality. - Our room booking promised "premium bedding", when in fact both sides of our duvet were old, cheap, and had 10+ inch rips down either side. I spoke to the "director" of the hotel, Julien Humbert, who has not given me a single apology for this terrible experience, but has instead very worryingly told me that he did not see any issues in the concerns that I raised, and that I apparently do not appreciate the struggles the hotel has been through since the pandemic. I fully understand the struggles that the world has unfortunately been through, however this is absolutely no excuse for the terrible service we endured. Please, please, stay elsewhere.
