The United Nations offices, Red Cross and WHO are very close by, so there are large numbers of dignitaries staying in the hotel on a regular basis. This also means a very secure environment that caters to people of varying nationalities. The TV channel selection, for example, reflects this. Be sure to visit the hallway with photos of some of the well-known people who've stayed at the hotel, which was first opened in 1964. We certainly had one of the lower end rooms, facing west toward some local housing (and a co-op) vs. overlooking Lake Geneva in the distance. Incidentally, the co-op has some decent ready-to-eat food selections... so if you don't want a sit-down meal, it might be a good place to visit. Other than the hotel restaurant, there are only a few good places to eat within easy walking distance of the hotel. Our room was spacious by European standards, and there was beautiful lighting, extra seating, and desk space. A room safe and minibar are part of the package. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed, with an expansive deep bathtub and wonderful large bath towels. The toiletries were a rather exclusive brand and had a great unisex scent. We only had breakfast in the restaurant, but it, too, was outstanding. Both buffet and menu selections were available. Servers were competent and sincerely nice. We especially enjoyed our interactions with Sarah. The hostess was wonderful as well. This hotel had many amenities that we didn't use, like a pool and sauna. Be sure to look these up ahead of time so you bring what you need.

Obviously Marriotts are geared more towards business travelers, but I enjoyed my stay here for leisure as well. I would recommend to friends and family.

The Western-style room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated for a comfortable stay. The M Club is the private hotel lounge for the frequent Marriott guest with status. The M Club located on the lobby floor is a more intimate and quiet space. Besides the limited and smaller breakfast that is offered at the M Club in the morning, I was able to dine alternatively at their full breakfast buffet with an omelette bar at their Moments restaurant. The quality of the food was absolutely delicious and the omelette chef was excellent. The Geneva Marriott Hotel is one of the nicer Marriott properties that I have stayed at. It is certainly at the same level as the best of the worldwide Marriott properties. I was very pleased with my stay and would gladly stay here again and even longer than just an overnight stay to catch an early morning flight.

Check in was seamless and easy and our double and twin (upgraded) room was ready when we arrived around 1 pm which was a nice touch. Dark wood decor throughout with a balcony. Safe was available as well a Mini Bar. Robes and slippers were provided. There is a restaurant and breakfast/Brunch was available. Although we didn't eat here, the restaurant was full during meal times. Two person elevator that is from another era but still worked and got the job done. The Fitness room/Spa area had Modern decor and is the part of the hotel that has been updated. A rare, both Steam and Dry Sauna rooms (2-3 people max capability) are included with an inviting relax area that was always kept clean and organized. An Amazing Wine Bar (La Tenuta)) and coffee shop (Christie's) just steps away and 15 minutes walk from the City Center. Yasside and the team took good care of us and gave us some great recommendations and tips. Extra star for their service minded and engaged approach. We will be back!

When we saw our room we noticed our bed was a bit too small for two people, so we called the front desk and they immediately upgraded us and brought us new keys to our room. Overall the hotel is super clean, beds are extra comfy, deluxe rooms have balconies, and they also have a spa + gym in the basement.

This trigger the memories of reading some of the Tintin novels. I then remembered this is the very hotel Tintin stayed at in the book: The Calculus Affair.  This is the favorite hotel of Professor Calculus whenever he stays in Geneva. I went into this hotel once to check out the Tintin merchandise that was sold here at one time. The hotel had large poster of Tintin in the window. Does anyone remember that? I saw different bowels and plates that were sold in a 7 part series at a souvenir shop. I saw the 6th in the series and a few of the others in the series. I did have much money since I just finished high and was starting spring semester in college soon. Otherwise I would have bought some. Nevertheless, my mom and maybe with my dad went to this hotel too. My mom presented me with 7th bowl and plate in the series. It is one of the most memorable gifts I own since my mom passed away. I still own the bowl, but the plate I suspect was broken by a family member (who will remain nameless) who won't admit to anything wrong doing he does:( The plate is gone and so is he as far as living with us, so it all works out:) Still the bowl will always remind me of this hotel, my mom and the time I spent in Geneva Switzerland. Should I ever revisit Geneva Switzerland, I will want to stay here at this hotel with my wife. I just got off the phone with one of the employees. There seems to be a very small place to get some souvenirs, but a majority of the souvenirs/gifts will be better spent a shop/mall. Still, I am glad to have owned one of the Tintin Bowls and Plates in French hand writing while this Hotel had its Tintin promotion going. It's been updated on the inside and features everything you'd expect for a hotel in this price range. Checking in and out is easy thanks to good customer service. Staff is friendly and explains everything you need to know. Rooms are clean, new, and comfortable, and the free WiFi is fast. Best of all is the location. You're close to several shops, restaurants, and anything else you're looking for as a tourist. And best of all, you are literally just steps from the closest train station and 10 minutes from the airport. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend anyone else the same.

They gave me some nonsense instructions about using the lift but came to find out that the instructions "press button P"are not present in the lifts from level -3 and all other buttons take one to a level completely separate from the hotel lobby. They made no effort to personally accompany me or otherwise help. The parking is not free. I chose to leave without bothering to see the rooms as my first experience was unacceptable. I would never go back there. Don't waste your money! I hope that the reception staff on the day in question ( May 4 2025 at about 21:00) are fired. That's what you get when you hire dumb idiots

While some may consider it far from the city center, it's conveniently located near several tram/bus lines, and you'll be anywhere in Geneva within 20-30 minutes. While taxis, Uber, and other rideshare are one way to get around, you'll find that the public transportation in Geneva is king, and depending on where you're going, you might even get there without a transfer. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, and have a full kitchen. Some service occurs every day, but full linens and deep clean are only every three or so days for longer stays, or more often upon request, naturally. The breakfast - whether you pay for it or it's included - is WELL worthwhile. Super fresh fruits, delicious breads and pastries, some of which are baked in-house, and your typical European offerings of eggs, yogurt, cheese, and charcuterie. THe hot dishes are also tasty, and as a vegetarian, I focused on the potatoes, which cycled through a few different varieties over my two-week stay. In the afternoons, flavored iced water, and pastries are offered, and coffee/tea (via machine) is available in the lobby 24 hours a day. Next to the front desk, they have a little shop with beer, wine, and other beverages, snacks, and even meal ideas like pasta. You have a full kitchen, remember. The ice creams are delicous, especially in the hot months. Laundry facilities are located in the basement level - two washers and two dryers. You can buy your tokens at the front desk, and I'll recommend getting an early start if you try to do this on the weekend. The staff are all super friendly and helpful, and speak several languages fluently.
