Check in was not until 3p and after I told the receptionist I had just flown in from the USA, she immediately arranged for the room to be prepared and within 30 minutes I was in bed. What an awesome, cozy hotel room located in the center of the city. I stayed in the Dream suite, but each is different with varied themes. The owner (Nadja) arrived late afternoon and served a homemade Gin & Tonic from the hotel bar (also quite cozy). The most amazing G&T ever made with specialty local Gin and tonic water and a story to cap off the experience. She offers G&T mixology classes there as well. Not sure if Hotel Bliss is five star rated with Trip Advisor, but the service and experience is a 10 in my book! Worth a trip to Holland and the city of Breda for the "Bliss"!

My room was comfortable and spacious, complimentary water and in room Nespresso were bonus. The room also had an iron/board and hair dryer. As a Bonvoy Gold, they had a nice note, small bottle of wine and mixed nuts to welcome me. The complimentary breakfast was great with tons to choose from and all the espresso drinks your heart desires! From lobby has a nice bar and also a fun confessional where you can take pics (but I never got the email with the pics!) Central and within walking distance to Breda downtown.

They finally sent someone to fixed the clog. On the bright side, it's location is the most praiseworthy. You can access restaurants and shops working short walking distance in all directions.

Food-wise, a broad if entirely standard menu, offers steaks, burgers, prawns and ribs amongst a scattering of salads and Dutch staples. What it lacks in adventure it more than makes up for in execution. My standout star is the choose your own size steak, which goes all the way up to 450g in size. Ambience is quite quiet, gentle music and soft lights mean that you don't have the problem of feeling like you're eating in a bar, but not a high-class restaurant either. There is a great desert card too, with a pretty tasty strudel. The offerings behind the bar are good, lots of Dutch and Belgian beers for you to try.

But, also, the hotel is just a bit south of the main city center, so it avoids the loud noises associated with the Grote Markt. My room was basic but clean and comfortable - decent beds, a good TV with plenty of channels, chair, desk, small table, and a fairly large bathroom. I heard no noise from anyone on my floor all week. Breakfast was quite substantial each day, with plenty of hot and cold choices. WiFi was free and fast in my room. The staff is very friendly and was even willing to print and scan some paperwork for me when necessary. Would certainly stay here again for future trips to Breda!

You check in at the other hotel which staff was friendly. There is no desk at the hotel we stayed at. The first room we got was not made up. The receptionist apologized and gave us a new room. The room is extremely small with nowhere to open luggage except in bed. There are very few power plugs. None by the bed to place items on small table. There are no shampoos or conditioners. I believe the price is too much for what you are getting. The breakfast is in the other hotel and it was good.

You can change: -Room lighting (even the color) -Temperature -Control the TV You use a barcode to open your door. Room, linens, bathroom, shower, clean and tidy. Soft bed. Restaurant is pretty decent with vegan options. SERVICE: There was a bit of a mix up with the site we booked on. The young lady at the front was very helpful in finding us rooms. Good Value for the room. VERDICT: Great hotel for its class (not luxury, more standard). But DAMNnnn, there ain't nothing to do in the area! We ended up playing Uno in the dine-in area and drinking beers outta the vending machine. Staff was very nice.

The hotel is rather…read moresmall (do not know the exact number of rooms) and it does not appear to be very well-known either. It is located within a few minutes walk from the central station and just around the corner of the 'Grothe Markt'. The hotel is owned by the guy who owns the Irish pub (O'mearas) across the street. I thought the hotel was great considering it only costs €75 per night. The rooms are modern and everything is clean. Beware that the stairs up to the rooms are rather narrow and steep. Not a problem for me but could be an issue for some people. The rooms had all the standard amenities such as flat screen TV (with a large number of channels), wifi Internet. There was a desk that was big enough to work at and there was also sufficient storage space for clothes. The bathroom also had a bath tub. The beds appeared to be new. Nothing wrong with the beds but perhaps a bit to hard for my liking. The room faced the street so it could at times perhaps by noisy but it was nothing that bothered me. There are however a few simple changes that would improve the stay significantly. The first one thing is that it would be great to have a possibility to plug in the laptop at the desk without moving the wardrobe next to the desk. Just putting a small extension cord there would solve that issue. The other thing that is a little bit disturbing is the fact that it was necessary to inform them the day before at what time I wish to have breakfast. There is no one there for breakfast before the time specified so if one wakes up early the restaurant and reception is closed and there is no chance of getting breakfast. They do make the breakfast for you but for me it would be worth more to be able to just pop down when I feel like it. The same thing goes for the reception which is unmanned at most times. Not really a problem since there is phone number in the room that one can call or it is possible to go down to the pub and ask them. It would however be an improvement if it was at least manned in the morning (say between 06.00-09.00).

This was my second stay at the Apollo and I have now tried both the 'deluxe' rooms and 'classic'…read morerooms. The location is good, right by the railway station. This time I had room facing the tracks but I was still not disturbed by any passing trains (it should however be noted that I am heavy sleeper so may be different for others). It is about a10 minute walk away from the main part of the city center but it is still a good location. Just as last time I was here the service was a bit slow. Only one person at the front desk (this appears to be the case irrespective of whether there are many people waiting or no one at all). Once one is actually being helped the service is however pleasant and friendly. The 'classic' rooms are to be honest not very nice. The term classic just means that it has not been renovated in the past 15-20 years. The furniture is worn and old (and not in the charming way). The TV barely worked (not really good enough to watch). The room lacked everything except for the basics (so no iron, ironing board, an empty minibar (can be filled with your own things - could be good for people staying longer but it was not plugged in so will take some time to get it cold). The lighting was insufficient (not possible to get good light when working. There were no electrical outlets available to charge the phone (may have been hidden somewhere but nothing found around desk or by the beds). In general things were however clean but the overall experience was still that it is really overdue for a remake. The bathroom did also not have any shampoo which should be natural to offer (only soap and body wash was available). They now also charge €12,5 per day for the wifi (in the room). It is still free in the lobby and restaurant but extremely expensive to charge that much for access in the room. I did once again not have breakfast so cannot really comment on it. To summarize the classic rooms are not really pleasant to stay in and even if the rate is decent I would stay elsewhere. The 'deluxe' rooms are nice but not even close to being good value for money.
