As a Bonvoy Gold, they had a nice note, small bottle of wine and mixed nuts to welcome me. From lobby has a nice bar and also a fun confessional where you can take pics (but I never got the email with the pics!) Central and within walking distance to Breda downtown.

The hotel is very easy to locate, it is pretty close to the highway coming from Rotterdam or Amsterdam. The hotel looks nice from outside, a very vanguard architecture as many buildings in this country. The lobby is pretty big and spacious. Service is friendly and fast. I was in my room in 5 minutes from arrival. The rooms are big for European standards (With a King size bed), I don't know if is like that because of being a Spa. Very well lighted with a ceiling light or 5 lamps if you want. The bathroom is pretty cool and modern as you can see in the photo (love the shower... ) The restaurant is open late and the food is a little bit in the pricey side. If it happens that you are in this city or Breda, it is worth to try. My only wish... that the pool is bigger. PS. No air conditioner :(

What it lacks in adventure it more than makes up for in execution. My standout star is the choose your own size steak, which goes all the way up to 450g in size. Ambience is quite quiet, gentle music and soft lights mean that you don't have the problem of feeling like you're eating in a bar, but not a high-class restaurant either. There is a great desert card too, with a pretty tasty strudel. The offerings behind the bar are good, lots of Dutch and Belgian beers for you to try.

But, also, the hotel is just a bit south of the main city center, so it avoids the loud noises associated with the Grote Markt. My room was basic but clean and comfortable - decent beds, a good TV with plenty of channels, chair, desk, small table, and a fairly large bathroom. I heard no noise from anyone on my floor all week. Breakfast was quite substantial each day, with plenty of hot and cold choices. WiFi was free and fast in my room. The staff is very friendly and was even willing to print and scan some paperwork for me when necessary. Would certainly stay here again for future trips to Breda!

Check in was not until 3p and after I told the receptionist I had just flown in from the USA, she immediately arranged for the room to be prepared and within 30 minutes I was in bed. What an awesome, cozy hotel room located in the center of the city. I stayed in the Dream suite, but each is different with varied themes. The owner (Nadja) arrived late afternoon and served a homemade Gin & Tonic from the hotel bar (also quite cozy). The most amazing G&T ever made with specialty local Gin and tonic water and a story to cap off the experience. She offers G&T mixology classes there as well. Not sure if Hotel Bliss is five star rated with Trip Advisor, but the service and experience is a 10 in my book! Worth a trip to Holland and the city of Breda for the "Bliss"!

The Tulip Inn is located right by the A27 freeway so if you are travel ling through and just need a…read moreplace to stay it has an excellent location. For my purposes it is handy for business (had meetings very close to it) but the locations is boring since it is some way from the city center (or what you wish to call the central parts of Oosterhout). There is nothing really wrong with the hotel. The rooms are fairly large but there is still the appearance of things not being very modern. The room I stayed in first (I will later get to why I changed rooms) was on the first floor facing the yard (which made it quiet). It was very cold when I checked in since the window was slightly open and it was below zero outside. Not very smart to leave the windows open. The room had a large bed which was ok to sleep in (not at all as comfortable as the 'sister' hotel the Golden Tulip in Oosterhout). There was a good sized desk where I actually could get some work done. Wifi was only included for two hours but from some rooms (for example this one) it is possible to reach McDonalds wifi which is free. The bathroom is probably the nicest thing about the room, it had both a shower and a separate tub. That is something I really think adds something. I had a good first nights sleep but when I woke up to a have a shower in the morning there was no hot water. After a while the reception claimed that the water was back on but possibly it was not freezing anymore but still very cold. It meant a very quick shower. Getting back to the hotel at night I felt it best to have a really nice and long warm shower - to my surprise there was no hot water. A call to the reception and they said that there was no problem with the water. I was offered a change of rooms which I accepted. Collecting all my things and going down I just opened the door to the new room and and had to turn around at once. The new room reeked of smoke - I told the reception they said it was a non-smoking room (after a while someone managed to provide the information that it used to be a smoking room and that it had perhaps not been fully renovated after that). Tried once again with a new room - this time I had about 1 minute of hot water so I had the time to step into to shower at least. Not much they could do - they called someone that would come in the morning to fix it and it worked reasonably well in the morning (still not as hot as it should be). All in all not very pleasant but the staff were truly friendly and did their best to help. I also had breakfast at the hotel and it was actually rather nice. The buffet is pretty standard but the fact that they actually make the eggs and bacon on order is fresh and nice. Summary: Pretty decent but not fantastic. It is also a bit pricey for the standard.

It is located within a few minutes walk from the central station and just around the corner of the 'Grothe Markt'. The hotel is owned by the guy who owns the Irish pub (O'mearas) across the street. I thought the hotel was great considering it only costs €75 per night. The rooms are modern and everything is clean. Beware that the stairs up to the rooms are rather narrow and steep. Not a problem for me but could be an issue for some people. The rooms had all the standard amenities such as flat screen TV (with a large number of channels), wifi Internet. There was a desk that was big enough to work at and there was also sufficient storage space for clothes. The bathroom also had a bath tub. The beds appeared to be new. Nothing wrong with the beds but perhaps a bit to hard for my liking. The room faced the street so it could at times perhaps by noisy but it was nothing that bothered me. There are however a few simple changes that would improve the stay significantly. The first one thing is that it would be great to have a possibility to plug in the laptop at the desk without moving the wardrobe next to the desk. Just putting a small extension cord there would solve that issue. The other thing that is a little bit disturbing is the fact that it was necessary to inform them the day before at what time I wish to have breakfast. There is no one there for breakfast before the time specified so if one wakes up early the restaurant and reception is closed and there is no chance of getting breakfast. They do make the breakfast for you but for me it would be worth more to be able to just pop down when I feel like it. The same thing goes for the reception which is unmanned at most times. Not really a problem since there is phone number in the room that one can call or it is possible to go down to the pub and ask them. It would however be an improvement if it was at least manned in the morning (say between 06.00-09.00).

It is not very far from the train station either so for Tilburg this as good as it gets with regards to location. From the outside the hotel looks dull and boring. The feeling is the same in the lobby that has definitely seen better days.The rooms do however have a slightly more modern feel with fairly sleek furniture in dark wood. There is also a flat screen TV and the bathroom is also very fresh and appears new. There are however a few things which still has a budget feel to it. One such thing is the lack of a/c in the rooms. In winter time it was ok but in summer the small fan in the room is probably not sufficient. The soap and shampoo provided felt very cheap and poor quality so suggest bringing your own. Very positive was however the fact that it was possible to get really hot water with good water pressure. A very annoying thing was the fact that they charge €16 for use of the Internet for one day. It is outrageously expensive for something that nowadays should be included without cost. The breakfast at the hotel was fairly simple and not a great selection but still better than expected at such a small hotel. There was a range of some bread,yogurt and egg and bacon as well as coffee/tea and some juice.
