Check in was not until 3p and after I told the receptionist I had just flown in from the USA, she immediately arranged for the room to be prepared and within 30 minutes I was in bed. What an awesome, cozy hotel room located in the center of the city. I stayed in the Dream suite, but each is different with varied themes. The owner (Nadja) arrived late afternoon and served a homemade Gin & Tonic from the hotel bar (also quite cozy). The most amazing G&T ever made with specialty local Gin and tonic water and a story to cap off the experience. She offers G&T mixology classes there as well. Not sure if Hotel Bliss is five star rated with Trip Advisor, but the service and experience is a 10 in my book! Worth a trip to Holland and the city of Breda for the "Bliss"!

The Golden Tulip in Oosterhout is a pretty standard hotel. Staying here for the first time there…read morewas little that surprised me. The front desk staff were very friendly and all the other staff I interacted with as well. The hotel itself is a pretty dull building and the rooms are nothing to write home about. Furniture is rather modern but I would have preferred a more modern TV although free Internet is a welcome bonus. The bathroom is nice with a bath tub and everything appears to be rather new. The hotel provides the standard soap, shampoo etc but I really appreciated the shoe shine that was also provided. I did however miss a water kettle (I like to make my own coffee and the fact that there is no iron is minus). The hotel has a decent breakfast buffet but could use more options for hot food. The restaurant serves some pretty good food at night but it is a little bit expensive (as often is the case in hotels frequented by business travelers). Location is difficult to discuss here since it all depends on what you wish to be close to. Oosterhout itself does not really have that many sights but it is pretty central location and it was rather close to my destination. To summarize some good parts but also some parts that are not really up to the expected level which brings down the overall rating.

For my purposes it is handy for business (had meetings very close to it) but the locations is boring since it is some way from the city center (or what you wish to call the central parts of Oosterhout). There is nothing really wrong with the hotel. The rooms are fairly large but there is still the appearance of things not being very modern. The room I stayed in first (I will later get to why I changed rooms) was on the first floor facing the yard (which made it quiet). It was very cold when I checked in since the window was slightly open and it was below zero outside. Not very smart to leave the windows open. The room had a large bed which was ok to sleep in (not at all as comfortable as the 'sister' hotel the Golden Tulip in Oosterhout). There was a good sized desk where I actually could get some work done. Wifi was only included for two hours but from some rooms (for example this one) it is possible to reach McDonalds wifi which is free. The bathroom is probably the nicest thing about the room, it had both a shower and a separate tub. That is something I really think adds something. I had a good first nights sleep but when I woke up to a have a shower in the morning there was no hot water. After a while the reception claimed that the water was back on but possibly it was not freezing anymore but still very cold. It meant a very quick shower. Getting back to the hotel at night I felt it best to have a really nice and long warm shower - to my surprise there was no hot water. A call to the reception and they said that there was no problem with the water. I was offered a change of rooms which I accepted. Collecting all my things and going down I just opened the door to the new room and and had to turn around at once. The new room reeked of smoke - I told the reception they said it was a non-smoking room (after a while someone managed to provide the information that it used to be a smoking room and that it had perhaps not been fully renovated after that). Tried once again with a new room - this time I had about 1 minute of hot water so I had the time to step into to shower at least. Not much they could do - they called someone that would come in the morning to fix it and it worked reasonably well in the morning (still not as hot as it should be). All in all not very pleasant but the staff were truly friendly and did their best to help. I also had breakfast at the hotel and it was actually rather nice. The buffet is pretty standard but the fact that they actually make the eggs and bacon on order is fresh and nice. Summary: Pretty decent but not fantastic. It is also a bit pricey for the standard.

My room was comfortable and spacious, complimentary water and in room Nespresso were bonus. The room also had an iron/board and hair dryer. As a Bonvoy Gold, they had a nice note, small bottle of wine and mixed nuts to welcome me. The complimentary breakfast was great with tons to choose from and all the espresso drinks your heart desires! From lobby has a nice bar and also a fun confessional where you can take pics (but I never got the email with the pics!) Central and within walking distance to Breda downtown.

They finally sent someone to fixed the clog. On the bright side, it's location is the most praiseworthy. You can access restaurants and shops working short walking distance in all directions.

To make things worse when purchasing a coffee I didn't notice they were out of milk and the tall older guy at the front desk proceeds to tell me in English then Spanish that there's no milk ( I'm guessing because I look Hispanic ) which I found unnecessary because I obviously had previous interactions with him and spoke only English. But, also, the hotel is just a bit south of the main city center, so it avoids the loud noises associated with the Grote Markt. My room was basic but clean and comfortable - decent beds, a good TV with plenty of channels, chair, desk, small table, and a fairly large bathroom. I heard no noise from anyone on my floor all week. Breakfast was quite substantial each day, with plenty of hot and cold choices. WiFi was free and fast in my room. The staff is very friendly and was even willing to print and scan some paperwork for me when necessary. Would certainly stay here again for future trips to Breda!

The room and bathroom are very very wide. Cleaning is spotless. Jacuzzi and swimming pool are really nice. Sauna and hammam were not hot enough. Gym is well equiped. Rooms: Now I have to distinguish my room from my colleagues. My rooms tv had a horrible picture quality and only 25 programs, my colleagues perfect DVB-S with crisp HD and several programs. That is no big deal since most people don't use the tv but I think it's worth mentioning. My bathroom was okay, but a totally dirty toilet brush and a stained toilet seat were not exactly what I expected. My colleagues bathroom was all tidy and no unwanted legacy. The water pressure in the shower was a joke, again only in my room. You can imagine the immediate happiness when you want to shower in the morning before having an appointment and realize it will take ages and you will burn yourself every few minutes due to the unforced water temperature changes. Over all, if I had had a room in the quality of the one my colleague had, I would have probably given 4/5 stars but I can only rate my very own experience and since sanitary cleanliness and a minimum of water pressure are scrupulous must-haves for me there is no other possible outcome than 2/5.

I have stayed in several other hotels in Tilburg and have not been very pleased with any of those - these other places (like the City Hotel and the Mercure) often have better locations or just consider themselves better (like the Auberge du Bonheur) but often charge around €85-150 per night. I stayed at the Ibis for around €50 and while it was not a great hotel I felt that I got value for money. It is not in the City Center but for me arriving by car it was convenient. Check-in was quick and efficient. The room was nothing special but it was clean, had a comfortable bed, the bathroom was clean and fulfilled its purpose. They also offer free wifi in the rooms and the TV had a decent selection of channels so basically nothing to complain about. Would I stay again if in Tilburg - yes but it is not memorable or great, merely sufficient.

We had a great day at this hotel on our recent trip to Efteling . We chose to stay at an on-site…read morehotel so that we would get admission to the park both on the day of arrival and the next day. Unfortunately, due to flight delays we did not get to the hotel until 15 minutes before the park closed on the first day. Nonetheless, our room was ready and we didn't even have to stop at the front desk. We were able to proceed immediately to the room with our phone and the Efteling app. We were able to eat in the restaurant that evening and the food was excellent. I had pre-arranged breakfast the next morning at 8:30. The breakfast was also great. We were in the larger room in the main hotel building. There was a separate bedroom area with two single beds pushed together in that room. The other room had two bunkbeds. So overall, our room could have slept six. There were only three of us so everybody got two beds, which was great, especially after a long flight from the US . There was also a picnic table. The room was a little bare bones. There weren't a lot of amenities like there was no refrigerator or microwave or tea kettle but the beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was spacious. There was a shuttle right outside the main building that you could take to the theme park. You could also walk. This was the less expensive option, but we really enjoyed it and would happily stay again. I love that they have so many accommodations that fit families of all sizes. Everyone was very friendly. They also have secure luggage storage for the day if you visit the park the day you check out.
