I used to love this place and recommended them to so many people -- until a recent experience…read morecompletely changed that. After paying my bill in full, I started receiving daily calls and invoices claiming I never made the payment. Thankfully, I'm one of those people who keeps every receipt. When I showed proof, they realized it was their mistake -- yet not once did I receive an apology for the repeated calls, letters, and inconvenience. To make matters worse, they mentioned they don't release jewelry unless it's fully paid, but because it was the holidays, they "let" me take my rings home -- even though I had already paid. The same employee who accepted my payment and gave me the receipt was the one calling and mailing the bills! This was handled so unprofessionally and without any accountability. I've stopped going there and no longer refer anyone. It's disappointing, especially after years of trust and business.

Skyline Jewelers just showed their true colors--literally. I had an appointment set for Saturday to…read moreget my gemstones (purchased legally at an auction) appraised. Instead of honoring that appointment, they left me a voicemail canceling it out of nowhere. The excuse? "The owner declined doing this job." Translation: they took one look at me, a Black customer, and assumed the gems weren't mine. They didn't even bother to evaluate them--they just canceled my slot and told me to "try elsewhere." The voicemail made it sound polite, but we all know what's really going on. If you're Black, Brown, or just someone who values fairness, don't waste your time here. This isn't just unprofessional--it's discriminatory. A real jeweler with integrity doesn't cancel confirmed appointments because of who's holding the stones. A real jeweler doesn't racially profile and hide behind weak excuses. Do yourself a favor: take your business to a place that respects all customers equally. Skyline Jewelers has proven they can't handle diversity, professionalism, or basic decency.

It did need repair; however, at a fraction of the cost at first place. The workmanship at Miner's Den was excellent. Also, if you need a watch battery, Miner's Den donates the charge to charity. I took a rosary in for a small repair and was told there wasn't a charge. They have gorgeous jewelry both new and estate pieces. Plus, every time I go in I'm greeted by a friendly employee right away and asked what I need.

I have to say I'm shocked. First off, the woman helping us was extremely kind but basically kept telling me in a very beat around the bush type way that it wasn't worth resizing them and that they are fine as is. They quoted us around 220$ PER RING if we wanted them resized adding up to over 400$. I've never heard of such steep pricing for a resizing. I didn't agree with her recommendation considering i can barely get my rings on and off. We went elsewhere and ended up getting them resized for 80$ a piece, and to a more comfortable fit for my liking. Maybe miners den just didn't feel like doing it, I'm not sure but we won't be back based off this experience.
