This is a truly special place. The counselors are incredible, the lake is beautiful - especially at sunset - and the speakers are good. Be mindful that while CWR is interdenominational most speakers tend to be Southern Baptist, and the camp is true to the mission it outlines on the website. My son has gone 2 years in a row now and is scheduled to attend this year as well. He's able to go with 3 other buddies and share the same train car. Great time, still in touch with his counselors from previous years, and has created long-term relationships with his friends. read more

Camp Willow Run is so amazing. My girls have been going for 4 years where someone in my family has been going every year for the last 11 years. My girls look forward to this every year and think it's the best week of their life every year. They love building their relationship with Jesus Christ as well as building life long friendships. It's set on beautiful Lake Gaston and the Staff is amazing. Ms Harris who started this camp is always there to welcome the kids. And love to see her every year. They will go back for as long as they can!!!! I even drive 5 hours to get them there!!!!! read more

Dear parents: DO NOT sent your kids to Camp Willow Springs at Lake Gaston. My child just finished a week there Friday. He was relentlessly bullied the whole time for sticking up for a special needs camper. My son reported this abuse to his cabin counselor which included punches to the back of his head, rocks thrown at his face, a fist fight and tons of verbal abuse. The camp counselor who is 19 year old did nothing about it. He did not report it to his superiors or anyone else. He thought since Jake wasn't crying out loud and showing resilience that was ok. It was not ok. Because he has some bit of strength does not mean his abuse should have been allowed to continue. This camps lack of communication and poor management could have lead to a much more serious situation. Please beware of sending your children here. read more

This camp is wonderful! It has a great message during bible study and has many fun activities. The camp counselors are amazing, and so is the food. Would definitely recommend this camp! read more
