History
Established in 1962.
Camp St. Nicholas was founded in 1948 to provide a special place for the children of families from St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Cathedral in Los Angeles. In 1962, we found our permanent home, nestled in the peaceful beauty of Mount Pinos, just 85 miles north of L.A. Since officially opening in 1964, our camp has welcomed generations of campers and can host up to 210 guests at a time.
Over the years, our doors have opened to non-profit organizations, schools, universities, and various community groups, offering a space to connect, reflect, and enjoy the great outdoors. Today, we continue to provide a welcoming environment for groups looking to create lasting memories in this beautiful setting.
Meet the Manager: Agape S.
I am so thankful to have joined Camp St. Nicholas as the resident manager in January 2024. My journey with service began at a young age, helping my great-grandmother serve warm meals to people from all walks of life from the basement of her church in St. Paul, Minnesota. That experience instilled in me a deep love for serving others, which I've carried into every aspect of my life. Having grown up attending camp, I know firsthand how special this environment is, and my hope is to create that same sense of community and love for everyone who visits.
With a background in school nutrition, I’ve seen how important it is to meet the basic needs of others, allowing them to thrive and focus on the bigger things in life. Here at Camp St. Nicholas, I’m honored to serve our campers and guests, fostering a welcoming atmosphere with love and care. I look forward to meeting you and making your time here a memorable, nourishing experience!
