We stayed in area 4, which was in the upper part of the campground away from the amenities. Our site (Q54), was only a short walk to the pool. Overall the sites were spacious and not as packed in with each other as found in other campgrounds.  Everyone we encountered at TG was very friendly and helpful. The amenities range from swimming pools(2 with slides) to an 18 hole disc golf course and everything in between. In the evenings the amusement area has an antique merry go round, inflatable slide/bounce house, train rides and miniature golf.  There is a BBQ restaurant on site and a fully stocked camp store. An ice cream parlor operated in the afternoon/evening serving soft serve, hand dipped, and sundaes. The huge portion for under $4 was very nice. The Swatara state Park is just down the road for hiking and biking. Overall a good place for a relaxing get-away.

We have a 26' camper and the site was so built up and "cliff" type if we backed in where they wanted to our stabilizer jacket was hanging off the site! We had to pull forward three ft!

All I can say is I've been camping my whole life (49yrs) and have never been to a campground this nice. Small stocked pond to fish, very clean and well kept place, clean good tasting water, showers are equally as nice as the MGM penthouse suite or the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, they have a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen where on holidays and events they cook for the campers, laundry area, then there are the upgraded mini deck sites that come with Adirondack chairs, all sites come with water and electric (probably sewer hook up too but we didn't talk about that). If I didn't own land up here to boondock on, I'd stay here in a heartbeat. You should give it a try!

Some of the campsites we came across leave a lot to be desired On being clean and junk piled up everywhere . 2 unsightly trailers right next to the road across from the office, they appear abandoned with trash around. The road noise was horrible and the fence they had put up was falling down and I'm not sure what the old building full of junk is used for but it could use a cleanup! From previous reviews I think they are trying to make it better, oh and the pool could use a good cleaning As well! I stayed during the fall to early winter. I can't speak for the pool, but this place is great. The office staff are nice. We were able to reserve sites ahead of time for a weeks rent. They have a place to refill propane, and electricity is free with your site payment. A lot of the sites have permanent residents. But they are nice and helpful. It's close to Lebanon PA, but off the road enough to enjoy camping. I would stay again.

It's honestly kind of perplexing that I'd never been to Little Buffalo State Park before. I live…read moreonly about 25 minutes away, have spent years exploring Central PA, and somehow this one had completely escaped me. I decided it was time to fix that! On a rainy late-June Sunday morning, I headed to Little Buffalo with a 5.5-mile hiking route I'd found on social media and figured if I was going to get wet anyway, I might as well do it surrounded by nature. One thing that immediately stood out was how much there is to do here. Little Buffalo State Park offers hiking trails, boating, fishing, kayaking, picnic areas, a large swimming pool during the summer, playgrounds, and the beautifully restored Shoaff's Mill, making it a destination that's just as appealing for families as it is for folks looking to spend some time outdoors. It's one of those parks where you could easily spend an entire day exploring. Parking was plentiful throughout the park, and everything I saw was clean, well maintained and easy to navigate. Despite the rainy weather, there were still plenty of people out enjoying the park, which tells you something about how loved this place is. The highlight of my visit was definitely the Middle Ridge Trail. Marked as "Most Difficult," this 2.5-mile section delivered exactly what I was hoping for. The climbs were steep enough to get my heart pumping, and as the rain continued, the trail became even more challenging in all the right ways. I absolutely loved it! It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning unplugging from everything else and simply enjoying the woods. By the end of my hike, I was muddy, damp and grinning. My kind of morning! I didn't have time to explore everything Little Buffalo has to offer on this visit, but I definitely noticed the swimming pool while I was there, and that's already on my list for a future adventure. Little Buffalo State Park has officially earned a spot in my regular outdoor adventure rotation. It's close to home, beautifully maintained, offers something for just about everyone, and if you're looking for a hike that will get your legs working, don't skip the Middle Ridge Trail.
