A business with a big heart…read more My children started art classes in Jan 2020 in one of Fibo studios, Little Picasso (grade K-1) and Core level (grade 2-4) respectively, because of its convenient location and class availability for each of my children. We liked the studio in our area with friendly staff. They both enjoyed the classes even though I talked my older one into taking the classes so that I could have some alone time while they were both in the classes.LOL. My only concern at that time was how much art knowledge, material techniques and personal attention the classes at Fibo would offer to the children compared to a small art studio with a long waiting list. The Black Friday in March was the last in person class they had before the studio had to close following the closure of the schools state-wide. In a couple of days after the closure of the studio, I was amazed that Fibo rolled out great online art classes, free for all the Facebook fans. Like all other distance learning, I've learned so much about the curriculum, the talents and passion of the Fibo team as well as the struggle of a small business keeping serving the community during the unprecedented difficult time. Curriculum: It was truly an eye opening experience for me to learn about the design of the curriculum of Fibo through the online classes. It can't be done without the belief and vision of the owner, Miss Jasmine, about nurturing the artistic side of each child and showing the children that art (history) is a language of humankind. Through Fibo's art history series (introducing high school art history AP class with art projects to elementary students, alphabeta serie to primary students) and around the world serie, I've especially experienced art as a vehicle of nurturing children's knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the world (natural and social) around them, in addition to the creativity and grit. Through Fibo's reading series, book reading (primary)/discussion (upper graders elementary) accompanied with an art project is such an inspiring model for bringing art and academics together seamlessly. Through Fibo's daily draw and creativity series, basic art knowledge, including color theory, perspectives, rule of 3rd, composition, different material properties and techniques, is introduced in an enjoyable way with a lot of room for creativity. You can get a sense of most of the series by becoming a Fibo village Facebook member or subscribe to Fibo Kids Academy Youtube channel. You can find free class videos or 3-day rental of recordings at $5. Fibo team: I do not know Miss Jasmine personally except of a few message exchanges on Facebook group page and during a few adult online classes Fibo kindly offered to the parents back in July. Miss Jessica and Miss KC were teachers of my children's in-person classes. Irealized how talented they are both in art and as a teacher for various age groups until they taught the online classes. My children also love Miss Ashely and Miss Kiatlin who also teach many online classes. Miss Jasmine values the attention and feedbacks to each student and has specifically provided the platform for Core/Master students in online classes now. As a small business owner in a difficult time, she is also proactive and sincere to work with parents to provide the best possible services to suit all parties' needs. As a mother of two young children, she is a role model not only for the children but also for the adults. It's easy to sign kids up for various activities, but it's not easy to find a team of teachers with big hearts. We are so lucky to be part of the Fibo community and hope you will enjoy it as well!

Those old reviews about not answering the phone, true…read more I have already paid my membership, so I am reviewing the provided service thus far. The advertising on Groupon stated this weekend was a great time to visit Oodles. The website is a mess, if that has been changed, maybe the owner has seen the light. I called, I get a voicemail suggesting I e-mail or text for faster response. People have phone anxiety, no grudges there though I would have preferred to speak to a person. I text asking when we can use our groupon, wondering if we need to book in advance for classes or if they're just on a running basis or something. NO AVAILABILITY UNTIL OCTOBER note: there is nearly a week left in July, we bought the groupon last week I respond to the owner that I feel a bit misled because the Groupon title said "Unlimited classes" but the fine print says "capped at 8 classes" like.... just say 8 classes, don't call that unlimited. But, I am especially upset that we cannot use the tickets at all until October and that there is no indicator of that until you spend time trying to call. (note, it took over an hour to answer the texts during work hours) The response I received is, "You may initiate refund with Groupon. We never advertised this ad with Groupon and already have a ticket open with Groupon as they opened up Unauthorized ad without asking our permission. They have discontinued the ads as of last week." I apologize for my contractors' mistakes, but I don't make the customer work to remedy the mistake; it's poor leadership, bad customer service, and makes me very nervous about what experience my children will have in an environment that is supposed to be safe. It is difficult to find good children's places, so we'll be keeping the groupon and maybe we'll see what it is like and adjust the rating and response if it unsullies the experience thus far.

Oodles-Los Alamitos sets the standard for after-school academic support. Ms. Nadia, the center…read moredirector, is extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond for her students. Not only is their after school program top of the line (especially since they focus on STEAM curriculum), they also host Xbox and art birthday parties which I have attended. In addition, the summer camp program they offer really prepares them for the next grade level. We love Oodles Los Al!

Yikes no. I agree with everything the reviewer said about the counselors teaching the kids…read moreinappropriate things not to mention kids of all ages are mixed together it is chaos. We were signed up for only two weeks of this camp and it can't end soon enough (he's only going to have gone 5 of the 10 days because it's that bad). He started toward the middle of the season, but there was zero help with regards to how things worked or where he would go and I did NOT feel good about leaving my son there so I stayed for at least an hour to get him acquainted with things. The counselors are friendly enough and the director is very responsive and helpful which is why I even gave two stars. YMCA is twice as expensive but 10 times better. I regret signing him up for this camp. Free range for your child to have access to limitless junk food if you load their card. Expect bullying, bad language and bad behavior. Have no idea how these other parents rate this so highly.

I was nervous that he would be too old this year (10) to still want to just play all day, but he comes home excited about the activities and the counselors... and TIRED! From what he tells me, there are always various activities that campers can choose from, from dodge ball to arts and crafts. We haven't signed up for any of the extra add-on activities because he is so engaged with the normal day to day things planned. The counselors are very meticulous in the sign in and sign out process, so safely is a minimal concern. Everyone I have come across has been so friendly and helpful, from Alicia in the main office to every counselor I have encountered! I can not say enough good things about this camp! It was not particularly outstanding archery lessons, but both a male and female instructor were friendly and engaging with the girls. At the end, they even allowed the parents a go at the target. I must say that while the duo tried their best at accommodating the students, their equipment was a bit lacking. The draw weight in the bow I used was next to nada. My try-everything-at-least-a-hundred-times husband agreed. Still, while my hubby and I were a bit disappointed with the private instruction and the equipment, this Sunday afternoon (2/23/20) was a perfect day to try new things. Other Highlights: + restrooms on site + our troop was able to bring snacks and drinks + picnic area right next to archery area + plenty of free parking + clean, safe grounds As long as COVID-19 does not ruin summer camp, there should be plenty of activities and day camps geared toward "developing teamwork skills and strengthening camaraderie." We started out doing group activities that challenge team work, patience, active listening, communication, problem solving, and thinking about others. I loved the creativity and variety in the activities, it kept everyone actively engaged and nobody ever got bored. It might have been because we were all adults and they are used to a much younger clientele, but I hoped our group leaders would be a little more enthusiastic working with us since our group was a little low energy at some points. The second half of the day was more focused on personal goals and achievements, pushing your limits, and trusting in yourself and others. This one should be full of encouragement. Some of us were a lot more game for the ropes course than others but everyone did feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction at the end of the day. If you have never tried a ropes course/team building activities like the ones here at Camp Fire USA, I highly recommend it! It is a great experience and you'll make many fun memories!

Micha also shared his expectations for this team so that all parents could know what we were getting our families into. Back office stuff was smooth. Brittany was on top of payments and merch that we asked for. Calendars, uniforms and group chats were all communicated without prompting by us. Interpersonal dynamics between girls was positive and pleasant. Coaching and goal setting was set from the beginning, as a parent I appreciated this as our goals aligned. During practice and tournaments the coaching staff was always professional and coached the players with development in mind. U14 is almost done.
