The sites were nice and large; believe they were $30 per night (i believe) - omg the restrooms were cleaned very frequently. Please note - i didn't see anywhere on site that sold wood so make sure load up before arriving. Bring your kayak as well - easy access to the dock and also lots of people fish near the early. During this time, we've been stay here at Sharp Park Campground. Diana, Jess and Val have all been extremely welcoming and never once did our family feel that we were camping rather, we felt as if we were "home" and felt like we became part of the family there. I am so blessed to have found Sharp Park as it will also be part of our new chapter of our lives. Thank you so very much for making us feel welcomed and like family. We have since then found a place so as of October 3 we will be moving to our new place .

It's a beautiful property with rolling green hills. It was surprisingly empty - we were among only a handful of campers most days and had plenty of space. Most other campgrounds I've been to this summer have been full or nearly so - if this place added septic it would probably attract more business. The store was rarely open during posted hours - a bit of an annoyance - but if you call the cell posted someone can usually respond within a few minutes. The person I perceived to be the owner was really nice. I'm not sure if this place has a religious affiliation but there seemed to be some sort of religious gatherings that occur there. It didn't bother me, just something to be aware of. We are in this area every couple of years - if this place added sewer we'd absolutely stay here again. If not we will probably consider other places unless we are only staying for a couple nights - it was annoying to have to deal with emptying the tanks on a long stay. Overall a nice quiet campground with a good family friendly vibe.

Dogs have to be tied up on a short leash unless you are a seasonal then your dog can be unleashed and free range, very discriminatory. Management is extremely disrespectful and rude. I will say that the campsite next to it was basically right on top of mine so it would be great for a group site! It was also located right by the bike/hike trail, so that was good for me but could see how it wasn't as private as other sites. Loved the check in process and great location related to Kalamazoo.

My kids had to wear sweatpants and sweatshirts in 75/80 degree weather. We couldn't go anywhere without there being poison ivy within 5 ft of us. Our group (especially my children) were all covered in mosquito bites (we are talking 10+ on each of their faces - even with using bug spray, and multiple other methods of deterring mosquitos!) The staff were rude and unprofessional. The DNR officers were belittling and grumpy toward a large family group (adults with small children). This was our first time camping at this state park... and likely the last time camping at a Michigan state park. I am so disappointed in how Michigan is using their resources to create a "family friendly" campground when the way people are treated are not reflective of that. The campsites are not safe for children. Do better for someone else's sake, Fort Custer.

The pool looked so inviting if it would have been warmer, May 31st. The only thing negative I would say is no trees, hot days would be unbearable and the golf carts speeding around playing loud music till late in the evening. I have a seasonal at another campground and we're not allowed golf carts, I understand why now. Everyone is there to relax not to be entertained. Overall great experience and be sure to grab breakfast in the morning from the store! Thank you manager and staff.

We found a KOA that looked promising. It's an interesting set up, speed limit is 4.93 mph, petting zoo, pool (closed for the season) and all the KOA amenities. We met the owner who told us his story about the Mohawk, if you get a chance ask him about it. Huge sites. Our site was buried in the trees which is great and it's a back in. Let's be honest if you can't back in your trailer into a spot should you really be pulling a trailer, maybe have your wife back it in instead. We are putting this KOA on our fall locations.
