You pay thousands of dollars and they hire young kids who are inexperienced and lazy. My child…read moreended up left alone to change and walk to the lunch tent, fell trying to catch up with her group and someone needed to go find a counselor to help her! SHE WAS 6 YEARS OLD. She needed stitches and when she returned and couldn't go swimming because of the stitches they made her sit on the side of the pool and watch the other kids swim.

Enjoyed attending this camp as a child for many years. Especially when I was around the age of 7,…read morethe camp always kept me entertained. I thought the lunches were great and always looked forward to ice cream at the end of the day. I made friendships to last a lifetime. I didn't need a fancy, super expensive camp to have a great summer, and neither does your child. My favorite years of camp was when I was a counselor in training (C.I.T.). The C.I.T. program at Hidden Pond Day Camp is awesome! Being able to go on weekly field trips and getting proper training by working with actual camp groups was a great experience. However, It is hard for the camp to keep their employees, which is why they are forced to hire candidates who are not the best. After being a full time counselor there for one summer, I understand. The counselors are treated with no respect. Being paid UNDER $4/hr for long camp days it is understandable why no one wants to come back. The work staff that returns every year actually bullies some of the employees. I was screamed at about being "too cautious" with my campers. The division heads play favorites so extremely that some counselors didn't even have to do their job. However, the camp did provide counselor bonding activities outside of our hours which was always a blast. The employees get proper training in what to do if there is a medical emergency, an evacuation It is sad for me to not return to a camp I loved so much. I recommend the day camp, but have definitely seen a significant decrease in returning counselors. I wish the best for Peter Trupia (the manager) and the other workers who put in countless hours to make Hidden Pond Day Camp a great environment.

Follow the signs. Thereis parking to the side of the main house. This visit had a tour of plants . There is a pond, fire pit and picnic tables throughout the area.it is a nature preserve park with many native plants along with some for sale. I suggest wearing a hat and sunscreen. While there are paths, sturdy shoes or work boots are good too along with a bottle of water. I did sera sign for bathrooms as well. They have a compost pile on the side.if you happen to have peelings from vegetables feel free to drop them off on your visit and learn how they make black gold for the soil.

We had a group of about 15 Cub scouts there finishing the ferns and animal related topic badge. The lady who gave a lesson about how to track or discover animals around us during our daily life, but the lesson was in a small room with no AC. The boys were not interested in the discussion at all. The session was informative to the parents, but the lady seemed unable to handle younger kids. We then took a nature walk outside and the boys were very into the hike. The trail was clearly marked and easy to access by foot. Parking lot was relatively small. Overall it was an okay experience.
