There are metered spots all around the perimeter, but they were all taken. I ended up driving a block away and parking in front of an elementary school at a curb that's for pick up and drop off only during the school week. The park is about medium size. There's a tennis court, basketball court, a playground, tables and benches, and open grassy areas scattered with trees for shade. For the festival there were a few food trucks on the street, but you really didn't need to buy anything as long as you were willing to wait in a long line for a free pretzel, ice cream, and bottle of water. Just make sure to check in at one of the tables first where they'll ask you for your name and email and then give you tickets for the pretzel and ice cream and then you can get in line. One person is allowed to ask for multiple tickets for their family. The festival is kid centric, like the entertainment on stage were kids dancing and the live music was also aimed at kids. One song had lyrics that sounded like "Simon Says". There were also several tents that had a bunch of freebies like stickers and potato bag clips and even a booklet of the U.S. Constitution, which makes sense since a lot of the booths were promoting various local politicians. There's an onsite bathroom by the basketball courts, but beware that it's not the cleanest, but it's a public bathroom, so of course it isn't. If you have kids, this festival was made for you. If you don't, you can still enjoy the freebies, but it's not really something you'd want to stay around long for.

People still fishing which they didn't let the weather stop them. Every now and then the rain did start but didn't linger. It's so nice to see that the grass if in full force of green. As spring is fastly approaching, the new sprouts of wisterias blossoms are starting to come out and slowly cover the canopy of benches. Whatever is left of the cherry blossoms trees are blossoming as well. Even with the grey dark could and sky, it didn't keep people inside. There's never a weekend we come and it isn't packed with people. There's lots of trees for shade but it can be hard to get a good spot near the water. It's also located right next to the golf course, so just a lot of people coming in and out everyday. The bathrooms can also be a bit questionable. I'd recommend checking it out in a weekday, it may be less packed. It's a pretty safe park to walk as well if you stay in the designated walking path near the water.

In fact, I bought extra paint just to make sure there was enough paint. We got there, checked in, and were walked into our room. We picked up the bottles and they were just filled with water, so I stepped out and asked the staff if this is how it's supposed to be. Their response? "Sorry, we're out of paint. We need to conserve." No, what you need to do is buy more paint. How are you out of paint? It's a paint room. And why are you charging me for bottles of water? Whatever. He said he could bring us a palette with paint. He came back 5 minutes later and brought a palette with 5 drops of paint. This paint experience turned into a (limited) color me mine experience - which would have been great if we were at a color me mine and could take something home. But we weren't. Also, color me mine doesn't run out of paint. We asked if they could at least reset the timer for the 5 minutes that it took them to bring out the paint palette. "No, we can't do that." Which ended up being fine, since we had no paint. Anyways - go if you're in the mood for an expensive water fight.

The space where the athletes have to play, the bathrooms are ATROCIOUS and there is very limited seating. The audacity to charge $15 for no seats, filth as soon as you walk through the door and hot Cheetos is laughable. And like many other youth sports complexes, you pay to enter BUT you don't even have anywhere to sit, the floors are dangerous (not swept OR mopped) so the kids fall and the restrooms are unsanitary. There's not a cleaning person or team in sight. Not even the owner attempts to clean. And the safety and cleanliness is solely on the owner but the sports organizations that rents out these facilities because they don't hold the venue/owner responsible but they'll take your money!
