Went for a meet and greet and pretty much drove right by the place as it does not look like their photos. When we got there they wouldn't allow us to go inside the barn and look where my dog would be going. They took my dog inside to "meet other dogs" without allowing me to come inside. When they brought my dog back they decided to tell us we weren't allow to see inside which was super suspicious. We looked through a window where we saw 5 dogs in each stall, lying in wood chips and metal bars on the windows like jail. When asking who supervises the dogs at night we were told nobody stays in the barn and the dogs pee and poop in the wood chips they sleep in. How could you just leave dogs overnight with no supervision and just hope everything is fine. To top it all off they don't have dog beds, or toys or even blankets. Literally dogs lying on concrete floors with wood chips and pee all night. I couldn't get out of there quick enough and I am disgusted with this place. I would never bring my dog there EVER! read more

My dog went for the 15 minute "meet and greet" prior to a booking we had made for the Christmas holidays (we had planned on leaving our dog, Max, here for 2 weeks). We found out they didn't ask for proof of vaccinations - they just take people's word for it. Well a week later and our dog had kennel cough! He's five years old and never once been sick before. Hadn't come in contact with any other dogs except at Camp Cookstown. We spent $150 at the vet and she said that given the incubation period of the cough and the fact he hadn't been with any other dogs there was no doubt that this camp gave him kennel cough. Read their Facebook reviews - not only do dogs get kennel cough but they also let dogs get attacked at their establishment (open wound, needed stitches) and not inform the owner or take the dog to the vet. Two days go by and when the owner went back to get their dog they found out the dog had an open wound on its back, had been in pain, was bleeding, and the wound was infected. This is animal abuse and neglect, don't bring your dogs here!! read more

I race nl had my two dogs Taj and Fenway stay for 3 nights. The meet a great a week prior made me feel very safe and confident letting my boys stay there. The new all the dogs really well. While away I had no worries. When I got home I could tell they had great time because of all the great photos. Best camp by far for you furry friend. read more

My dog has come home from Camp Cookstown twice with Kennel Cough, despite being vaccinated against it. He has a great time and comes home tired, but the rates are high and then I've had to take him to the vet after and pay for an office visit & antibiotics. read more

Just picking up my poor dog Harley at Camp Cookstown. She was attacked on Saturday by another dog, they are telling me it was completely unprovoked. These dogs are supposed to be vetted for bad social behaviour. How does a dog suddenly attack another dog for no reason? This is the forth incident she's had there. Two bouts of kennel cough, a broken tooth and now this. To add insult to injury no call, no vet visit, they leave her to suffer for 2 days! Then they leave a poor young girl to "explain" this all to me on pick up, and suggest I take her to the vet because she believes the wound is infected. All this and they have never offered a discount, or to pay any of our vet bills! This time the owners of the other dog will be paying our vet bill, not them, nope they will make them pay, even if they allowed an unfriendly dog to mix with other dogs. I've forgiven way too much and now I'm paying for it. We won't ever go back and I strongly suggest you don't either. I hope they enjoy their money, while we deal with a skittish dog and a very upset 10 year old! After I made a public post on Facebook, suddenly the owner called me. Then I threatened to expose this on social media I got a refund and they paid my vet bill. read more

I absolutely love Camp Cookstown, we have a little pug and she absolutely loves it here. She has been to day and overnight camp and always comes home exhausted. Keep up the great work!! read more

I booked on-line at the Camp Cookstown website. I had a few questions after booking but, no one ever answered the phone or responded to my email inquiry. After 2.5 days of waiting for a response, I cancelled my booking. read more
