We discovered it during a long, late-night trip, and when we arrived, we were greeted with genuine Southern hospitality. Even that late, they offered us a meal and got us checked in quickly. The rooms were very clean and stocked with all the amenities you could need. The river view is absolutely beautiful, and the whole area is peaceful and relaxing. If you're in the area, I highly recommend going a little out of your way to support this amazing place and the wonderful people who run it! Sorry--photos are from the website. I forgot to take any while visiting, but the pictures accurately show exactly what the establishment looks like.

It faced the Elk River, so we enjoyed beautiful scenery of the river, surrounding mountain, and a bit of morning fog. For breakfast and dinner we ate at Tudor's Biscuit World and Gino's Pizza and Spaghetti House. Service was extremely fast, personnel were very friendly, and food was delicious. The front desk area of the hotel also hosts an antique shop, as well as a fabric and yarn store. The entire area is so quaint - we fell in love with it.

Ok so I sorta panicked after reading some bad reviews on yelp after I had already booked this place…read morebecause of good reviews on trip advisor. Those concerns were completely unwarranted because we ended up having an absolutely lovely time. I wanted to pick a place that was somewhere between Weston and Fayetteville and Sutton was a very good happy medium. I didn't know how small the town would be and that was a little bit of a surprise but I like that kind of shit, that is why I travel to different places, after all, even if they are different from what I am used to (I roll my eyes at myself). The town, like I said, is very small. There is a big foot museum there that we intended to visit but then forgot. There was a restaurant within walking distance THANK GOODNESS that was very good (Braxton Bistro). There is a convenience store within a few minute's drive. We arrived at around 6pm and there was a man there to greet us, contrary to some of the other reviews I read. He provided the key and escorted us to our accommodations. I chose the "glamping" because I don't love staying in a house and because I figured "when in West Virginia.." And wanted to get a taste of nature...on my own terms. Despite it being "glamping" it was very comfortable. 1/3 of the "tent" was transparent so you could look out on the back yard, trees, and a river running through. It was very cool. The bed was comfortable. The AC worked GREAT. Almost too well. The shower was actually very solid as well, no issues there. There was even a TV in the room which was very much appreciated given it was the first night of the NFL draft during our stay. No issues with noise, other than birds chirping and other "camping" sounds. Everything was clean. Our room even included a mini fridge, I think a microwave if memory serves, and a coffee machine. Our stay in the glamping tent definitely exceeded expectations and was a great experience.

Cute little motel nestled in quiet Webster Springs. Spent…read morea night here while I was in the area for a wedding, this place was only 9 minutes from the venue. While it isn't fully updated in decor, it is clean, and the beds are comfortable. My only issue is that upon arrival, we discovered that the table in our room was broken -- one of the legs was cracked and snapped, but you wouldn't notice it unless you tried to place something on it. We notified the staff, but I don't think they were able to do anything about it. Another problem: the faucet wasn't working properly. It only produced really hot water, no matter which direction it was turned, and it also leaked at the knob. I've see a lot of good reviews, so I'm sure this place has seen better maintenance in the past. I can't imagine the pandemic has been helpful for business. Bottom line: it's clean, you get what you pay for. I'm glad I stayed there, though.

This is branded as a New River Gorge location, which is a bit of a stretch. It's about a half hour…read moredrive to the bridge and the visitor center. Having said that, the area around the gorge doesn't have an enormous number of options and prices are high, so a place like this can be a pragmatic pick. The hotel is in a shopping center and at the time of my visit, had a parking area that was in quite poor condition with numerous potholes. I completed an online checkin in advance, but you still have to talk to someone to pick up a keycard, and their one employee was apparently busy. A group of us waited at least fifteen minutes or so before she finally returned and started handling our needs, which I take more as a comment on the staffing decisions than on one individual person as I assume there was some reason for her absence. Having waited so long, I forgot a water bottle in the lobby and returned an hour later to find it still there, untouched by any other guest and not noticed by staff. The room itself was pretty good. Decent curtains, and solid air conditioning. Noise was not zero, but only occasional; I have found other locations in this part of WV that were harder to sleep in due to road noise or trains. I brought my own breakfast as I wasn't expecting much from theirs. Having said that, a lower end hotel in a good location can be a lifesaver, and this one at least met my basic needs.
