It's a luxury apparel and accessory shop, that, simple put, has an exquisite inventory. Native American jewelry, a wide variety of turquoise, gold and diamond jewelry, leather goods, men's and women's clothing, etc. Great quality, and reasonable prices. Without question, one of the best shops on the plaza! Jesse is our go-to sales rep there. She knows her stuff, and is such a pleasure to work with. We didn't buy anything this time (a first I think), but it was a great visit and so fun to browse while chatting with Jesse. Mostly friendly staff - however, I don't remember paying in different areas in the same building. Speaking of buildings, there are several... The newest is one for glass blowing where classes are also offered. That sounds neat. In other buildings are the following: rugs, gifts (art, clothing, jewelry, bags, etc.) and home decor, and furniture. There is also a garden nursery in front of the main buiding in addition to pottery, sculptures, and water fountains of all sizes. I've never been to the location in Albuquerque. The difference between the two locations is that Santa Fe has the Mercado merchants from all around the world - South America, South Asia, Thailand, Nepal, Mexico, and beyond. We bought items from both the Andean Village Arts and Martz Imports. The pricing is confusing at times. Some items aren't clearly marked or not at all. Other items I found to be a bit steep. The owner, Karim, agreed to accept the return as an exchange for other items in the store. However, when we shipped the rug back, Karim refused delivery and the rug was returned to us. So we wasted $200 on shipping and still do not have our exchange. Be aware that Santa Kilim does not take phone calls (the published number has a voice mailbox that's full and you can't leave a message) and the owner does not respond to emails. Good luck if you need to return an item. We're still waiting to hear back from them despite numerous emails over many months. In the meantime, we have contacted the Attorney General's Office of New Mexico and are following up with the Santa Fe Better Business Bureau. It appears a lawsuit will be necessary. We would like to warn other customers about doing business with this business. Buyer beware! Note there is another review from someone with a similar experience.
