Having no previous knowledge of Camille Albane or Dessange, I selected this salon for my first haircut in France for two reasons:
1) It's proximity to my apartment
2) It did not look like a cheapo chain
My stylist, whose name is Pascal, did not speak much English but this did not turn out to be an issue because he knows his trade very well. I was concerned that I might have to somehow convey that I wanted a trim with bangs but that I also wanted texture because I didn't want it to be too poofy or lay too flat, etc etc. I started in with hand motions and lots of "comme ça"s, but he dove right in indicating that he would give it texture and shape and make sure it looked good both loose and in a ponytail.
Then, it was off to the shampooing chair. I had a lovely chair massage while Pascal was shampooing and conditioning and I got to watch some of the latest Camille Albane Prestige Show on the tv, giving me another hint that I picked a good salon.
The cut went over flawlessly. We were even able to have a little conversation and joke around, which was nice. Pascal offered me a coffee, though I declined having just partaken before arriving.
The final cost was 62€, including shampoo, cut, and style. I'm very satisfied with the entire experience and will definitely be returning. read more
