Real talk, we moved here about a year ago and there's a neighbor near Novak Terrace and Woodlake Drive that has multiple cars with loud exhaust and they constantly feel the need to sit in them at all hours even past 10:00 p.m. with it running, and we're not talking about high quality cars, we're talking about old Hondas that sound like they're choking and puking the whole time, like they're trying to be fast and furious on a budget!!.. it's seriously a joke for those who work from home and have to hear this constant annoyance because the windows and walls are fairly thin, you can hear everything from outside!!! I thought this community was supposed to be high quality but it appears that a lot of Section 8 / low-income individuals are pushing their way in, seems like they have a protected status because management has been notified by multiple other tenants about this issue and it still continues!! Like I said previously, we've been dealing with this for over a year now, and it's slowly getting worse I'm pretty sure the township and state have a law on vehicles idling for extended periods of time and I know for a fact we have a local noise ordinance, maybe they will be contacted next in order to get roving patrols out this way!! read more

Luxury my ass. This is what we look at everyday. Garbage everywhere, not enough trash receptacles. Not to mention no parking. Edit: I forgot to mention that you shouldn't have anybody who is handicapped come and visit you if you live here. Residents are constantly parking in the handicap parking spots and I know for a fact they are not handicapped and do not have placard. They have a towing company and "strict" parking rules around here but nobody enforces them. We unfortunately could not move there due to commute issues to and from work. It was a bit of out of our way for work but if circumstances change and they are still seeking tenants. I have been living here for 4 years. From the very beginning I indicated that there was a Wasp nest on the roof of my townhouse. Nothing was done. Throughout the years I just avoided the front area where the Wasp flew. Now I literally have a Wasp nest in my doorway!! I'm having difficulty from maintenance and they're outside services for having this removed. Maintenance of Camelot La Mer says you have to go to the rental office. Then the rental office will say you have to go through the maintenance department. ‍ Everybody blames each other for not doing the job. The reviews I've seen from other people can't be true.... seriously, I've been living here for a little over two years now. I don't know where these other people were living or how things were years back, but I can tell you my experience has been beyond incredible. From the day I took the tour of the apartment with one of the leasing agents to the day I signed to the day I got my keys, the process with the office has been transparent, fast and efficient. Not only did I get a beautiful apartment that has updated cabinetry and countertops and has spacious rooms, my washer and dryer is awesome. I get to hang out at the pool which is clean and very well-kept with some really great neighbors. The complex always does something for the holidays whether for kids with Santa or a Halloween party or cookouts for the summer time to get to know your neighbors. I have never been in any other complex that has been as engaged with their residents as Camelot has been. I have met the property manager, Tracy and her assistant manager Melissa, Wes, Sabrina and Bob in the leasing office plus with all the maintenance guys- Christian, Rich, Anthony. I see them every morning at 8 with the trash cans picking up after residents. We even have a community mayor that plans events and she's what embodies community at Camelot. No other place in Sayreville (except their other property Town Lake) is as nice in my opinion. read more

The complex is horrible when it comes to plowing snow!!!! The roads are good in the front of the development as you continue to get deeper in the complex it gets worse and worse. I called over to the office and they said their working on it. I see no one working on it!! I even took pictures to show. This will be my last year living in this dump! read more

Run far and run fast. I moved here in 2009 into a rental home when the complex was very nice, and well maintained, well lots have changed. Not sure if tenants for the rental apartments are screened but this place is a mess. There is drag racing any given night thus the reason that "speed humps"(not bumps) were installed. There are groups of MEN (not boys) riding 4 wheeled vehicles and dirt bikes around the complex as if they are on a dirt road constantly disturbing everyone with the revving of the engines, and its only April, imagine when summer rolls around. Instead of the children riding bikes and playing in the designated playground areas, the parents allow them to play behind the apartments where the garages are. So not only must I be on the look out for cars, and 4 wheelers but now I have to keep in mind that toddlers and kids are playing where they shouldn't be. This place has gone to shit...find a more peaceful place to reside because this isnt it. read more

Never in my life have I ever reviewed anything online but I feel compelled to share the experience we had with Camelot at La Mer! We apartment searched in April. We loved Camelot at La Mer when we first visited, put down a deposit day of. We picked an apartment we loved due to having both garage and outdoor space. They were dog friendly. We were lucky enough that we were able to be flexible with our move in date, and we were told that move in could be scheduled for sometime between June 15-July 5, depending on when the current resident scheduled his move-out, but that it would be July 5th at the latest. We went to sign our lease about a week before our move in date which got pushed out to July 5th. We left them all of the money orders for our move in, and had signed the lease, but the leasing office called us about an hour after and told us that the current resident was "refusing to move out" ! This was a week before we were supposed to move in, and 6 weeks since we had first put down the deposit on the apartment. Movers were booked, u-haul was booked, we had taken off work, utilities were connected per the requirements to sign the lease... Absolutely ridiculous, but they're a big apartment community, so we thought they could just transfer us to another apartment... Wrong! They refused to grant a request to put us in an apartment the same size or bigger for the trouble and we were left without an apartment we had already signed a lease for going into a holiday weekend. They even told us at one point that it would "cost more" if we wanted to be transferred to a bigger apartment. What!? If you are considering Camelot at La Mer I implore you to reconsider!!! Would not trust this company to deliver on any promise-even one bound by a signed lease! read more

So if I could give this place one star I would. My boyfriend and I have been living here for almost a year now. If anyone wants to move in please take this seriously. The apartment is beautiful besides that our fridge does this awful squeaking every hour for 5 minutes. I have sent maintenance and shown a video, they didn't know what was wrong with it so here we are every hour with a horrendous noise. Do you wanna park here? Ha think again. There is not enough parking for residents here; there are over 50 apartment units by Gawron court and there are only 25 spaces, I am a server who gets home at night very late so I never have a chance at a parking spot I either have to park by the pool where I run the risk of being towed or 3 miles away from my apartment and have to walk that far where there are no lights. I'd also like to add a man was murdered here in April but I never heard anything else on the case? Sooo I feel very unsafe when I have to walk far to my apartment, even living here freaks me out now. If I could give 0 stars I would. I've lived here with my father for over 4 years and just came to visit him for one night after driving 6 hours from college. There has never been enough parking on the street for visitors and I went to move my car from its spot and it was gone. I called the property manager ALLEN who acted completely oblivious and when I called the towing company they said Allen ordered the tow. It is TWO DAYS before Christmas and we are amidst a global pandemic, I have no work right now and he's towing cars. He says they've been doing this for 3 months.... why would you begin towing during the coronavirus and holiday season when everyone is struggling? Now we are expected to pay $170 cash only two days before Christmas. When we called to simply voice our complaints he said, "you knew what you signed up for when you decided to rent here". My wife and I moved in august of 2014.Moved out July 2017 It was a 2 bedroom flat on Gawron court. The apartment was fairly new only one tenant before us and they were only there one year. All the appliances are new and nice. The apartment was on the small side but it had a garage and dishwasher. But the horror of living here was about to begin. The apartment 1.The walls are paper thin. You hear everything, and I mean everything. 1a. You are packed in like sardines. Two on each side and two above. Because of the layout you have two apartments above you. 2. The garage has no hose spigot. 2a. The entrance to the carport/garage is just big enough. Lots of cars/trucks end up with damage because of Kaplans desire to make money over quality. 3. There is only one window in the front of the apartment. No cross breeze. 4. There is no parking. Fire lanes everywhere on tight streets. It is obvious they had 'maximum capacity' on their mind when building this place. 4a. Maintenance will put giant stickers on windows for parking legally and call it visitor parking. It took me an hour to get all the glue off. And I was parked legally. 4b. The only parking is on a back street far from your front door step. 4c. When it snows it's even worse.No paths cut between buildings forces you to walk a mile around the complex unless your up to walk through a foot of snow. 4d. Many people leave cars parked in front of building for moths on end. 4e. Many people with motorcycles leave them in front to hold spots. 4f. Parking here turns you into a sociopath. 4g. The parking sucks. This is a design flaw. Nothing you can do about it. 4h. Expect to have any guests park a mile away. 5. There are no paths between buildings. 5a. When it rains you walk through mud, when it snows your screwed because the will not cut a path between buildings. 6. The speed limit is 15mph inside the complex. With only two signs that are barely visible when entering the complex. 6a. Many people exceed the speed limit well beyond the normal "10 mph over" rule. 6b. Traffic police routinely post up in the complex and write tickets for speeding. 6c. Police also ticket vehicles parked in the fire lanes that are in front of the buildings. 7. The garbage is out of control. 7a. The dumpsters are routinely over flowing with garbage. 7b. The garbage is running down the hill behind the dumpsters into a protected wetland. But Kaplan don't care. They don't live there. 7c. The garbage men stole my charcoal grill. Kind of my fault for leaving it out behind my carport but who throws out a brand new grill? Not me. 8. The maintenance crew is the worst. They are light bulb changers at best. 8a. The sprinkler in my car port exploded the first winter we were there. It took a year for maintenance to fix this. 8b. My A/C stopped working last summer during a heat wave last year on a holiday weekend. When I called maintenance a young man maybe 20 arrived at my door in board shorts and a wife beater. No ID no uniform. He told me the freon was low and left me with a wall unit. I later saw this young man at the pool just hanging out. Maintenance workers are not allowed at the pool especially when they are supposed to be on call. As some one who knows A/C very well I knew it was not low freon. A week later a technician came and said it was a loose circuit breaker. 8c. They will lie to you.Expect it. 8d. My front window began leaking whenever it rained 6 months prior to this posting. The water was coming from somewhere above. It was in the front wall(an obvious breeding ground for mold) and also in the ceiling near a light fixture(an obvious fire hazard). It was never fixed. 6 months and still leaking. I called them every time it rained. This was the straw that broke the camels back and we decided not to renew our lease. 8e. I'm not one to judge but none of these guys look like they belong in someone's 1900$ a month apartment. Unkept and unsavory types that whisper jokes and obscenities below their breath. 8f. I never had a good experience with maintenance. 8g.They come every 6 months to change filters and fire alarm batteries. In three years they never changed the batteries. I checked. I changed them every daylight savings anyway but it's the principal. 8h. They blocked half the parking lot with mulch this year for a week. In a place where parking is already non-existent. 9. The management is terrible. I will not mention her by name but if you lived here you know who I'm talking about. This woman was never a help to me. Constant lies and swindling. I wish I could give this place zero stars. The worst renting experience of my life. DO NOT RENT HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT. read more

If your thinking about renting here please do yourself a favor and do not. Please take my advice: you will regret ever moving in. I rented here in 2013 and had nothing but unresolved issues. Here are some of the things you will encounter if you rent here: the maintenance staff stole personal property or mine, management is unprofessional, walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors talking at a normal pitch, as a result of inefficient construction work flooding happens regularly, mold took 8 months to resolve, etc. I could go on believe me, but I think that puts it into perspective. In addition, you have to give 90 days notice to notify that you won't renew the lease. And don't expect your deposit back. Lastly, don't expect to reach anyone in the corporate office -- they don't get back to you. I hope I have been helpful... Good luck in your search for your next rental! read more

I have lived here for over 9 years and I love living here. I have always had great experiences with the maintenance staff, no matter how big or small the request, they always respond quickly and get the job done really well. The grounds are well kept and attractive, and I love the size of my apartment (I live in one of the townhome types, the Baltic). The owners have always been responsive to my requests. I don't know why the other people who have left reviews have had such bad experiences, but I've been happy here. My only issue is that my rent is a little high, but I'm ok with paying a little bit more to be happy and not have any issues with bugs or pests.
