Park amenities include three picnic tables, a small playground made from recycled materials, restroom, and four lighted softball fields. While the park itself is a public facility, it is closely associated with the Lake Charleston community. Lake Charleston Park is an inviting destination for those seeking outdoor recreation in the Lake Worth area. Parking is ample, free and shaded. The first playground is designed for smaller children and is designed as a sailboat. A small rock wall, pretend boat helm and two-tiered design appealed to both of my kids (1 and 3). A tiny 'hill' beyond this is the playground for older kids. There were a couple of cool features on the lower levels. Both playgrounds are connected by a sidewalk that continues on in a few different directions - around a lake and through tennis courts. Across from the sidewalks are large fields that I assume are used for soccer, due to the goals. My kids ran around in the mid-length grass/weeds trying to catch dragonflies. The field is very far from the road so it was nice for them to run around without needing to worry. We spotted different kinds of birds and a family of ducks far away. We did walk through the courts (2 tennis and 1 basketball, at least) to another part of a water body (Lake Charleston? No clue!). I was pretty nervous about alligators being that close to the water. We came to a tiny dock that was so covered in bird poop that it was uninhabitable. I didn't see any signs about alligators, but I don't think I'd walk my kids around that part again without a stroller. I'm not sure if it was just a windy day, but these are kind of 'waterfront' playgrounds and definitely received nice breezes. They were also shady with benches and altogether pleasant. Although not fenced, the far proximity from roads is nice and feels protected. The bathrooms are located outside but on the other side of the rec center (not near the playgrounds). They were remarkably nice and clean. We only encountered one other young child here briefly. Otherwise, when I arrived, the smaller playground was being used by a fitness class (for adults), and the larger one was being used by 3 teenagers.

Next to the entrance are four lighted basketball courts and a small playground structure with baby swings. Around the well marked park you will find 2 lighted baseball fields, 6 lighted multipurpose fields, 2 lighted softball fields and 1 lighted T-ball field. In the center of the park is the Family Aquatic Center where you will find a 50-meter, 8 x 20 lanes heated outdoor swimming pool. There's also a children wading pool, an interactive water playground and a 2 story water tower with 3 slides. There are showers and lockers. Swim classes for children are offered at the aquatic center. To the left of the main entrance are 6 lighted tennis courts and 4 lighted racquetball/handball courts. The park also has a larger playground and a picnic shelter with grills. Near the playground is the Armed Forces memorial. There are 5 flags representing the 5 branches of the armed forces and a monument marker with the names of fallen heroes. Contrary to the name there is no lake view and there are no nature trails which is what I look for in a park. However if you are into athletics this is a wonderful park and the pool is a very nice feature. You can picnic, exercise, and play. This is also a very safe place to teach a child to ride a bike.

I like that there's events held there like 4th of July display, hispanic heritage month celebrations, and many others. I feel pretty safe each time I go, especially because there's a fire station within walking distance. I've never used their public bathrooms but I noticed they have a vending machine which is always a good addition. Overall, there's a lot of space and parking. I will continue to come to this park because it does not disappoint!

I came for the Rock n Roll chili festiva. It was fun. They had a nice car show happening. The event was free. They had many vendors here some giving things away and selling stuff. A few veterans educating the public and many motorcycles. I enjoyed the good live music playing. The fire trucks, a helicopter, and big army vehicles were also here on display. It was a nice, family, and dog-friendly event. I enjoyed my time. The event was well organized. They had staff guiding parking inside. it was a one hot day. It was nice this park had big trees to shade the event.

The park is right north/next to the Riker Athletic Campus -- part of the Palm Beach Atlantic College (not FAU). And I don't think most of the families using this park even question how it was named or care. You can google or go to Wikipedia for this information. When we stopped by everything was so vibrantly green -- including a large grassy "sports" area where two guys were practicing their soccer kicks. The park has many amenities -- both a bike and walking path (paved), a children's playground, toilet facilities and a water fountain. The most appealing area to me was the splash pad. There were some interesting trees with a bit of shade. I especially liked that there were picnic tables and benches throughout so parents could watch their kids. The park is open sunrise to sunset. Glad we stopped to check it out.

This place also has an event hall that I have not seen but I've heard is pretty nice. The indoor Recreation Center houses a gym and has meeting rooms for various programs. And outside are more than a dozen fields for baseball, softball, and multipurpose ones for soccer or la crosse, et al. Almost forgot the volleyball set up with a sand base and the tennis courts. There's a one-mile exercise path with stations; a large picnic pavilion that groups can rent and a few smaller pavilion's too. For the younger kiddies, there's a playground with swings and two "structures" for different age groups. There is supposed to be a skate park and a roller hockey rink, but we didn't see all of parts of the park . As you enter the park, you can see some construction going on. They are building indoor/outdoor tennis and pickleball courts. They are hoping to open either later this year or in 2027.

It's easily accessible and there is a large parking lot. The first thing you see when entering the park are these majestic trees. These huge, tall banyan ficus are grouped together in a grove. Their extending roots and extra trunks appear to be a throw back to another era. Based on the age of the park, itself, we know they are at least 70 something years old. In one of my photos. I stood at the base of one tree so you can get a perspective of how tall these trees are. These trees alone are a reason to visit. Of course, if you are sports minded, there are courts for basketball, soccer, tennis, and pickleball. There's a separate skate boarding park newly revised this year. Plus a playground, exercise/walking trail, pavilions, and picnic areas. And the separate baseball section (see other Yelp listing). In between all the wonderful sports court areas are lovely green swaths of grass. Overall, this is a beautiful park packed with possibilities. I'm so glad I found it and visited here.

After visiting the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach's Pan's Garden I was interested in seeing…read moreall of the parks they manage. I found out online that in 2017 they completed a 2.7 million dollar renovation of Bradley Park. This is one of my favorite kind of parks. It runs at the base of a bridge giving you a fantastic view of the waterway. After visiting the park all I can say is wow! It combines two things I am passionate about, art and history. The 4.4 acre park was the former home of Colonel Bradley as well as the location of his beach club. The Gilded Age buildings were destroyed as were many others during the 1970's. It was why the Preservation Foundation was created, to preserve the historic architecture of the Palm Beaches. All that remains is the Artemis fountain featuring cherubs and the four faces of father time and the historic tea house. Park improvements that were made during refurbishment project include a quarter mile long shell walkway, the restoration of the tea house, and a terrace for the Artemis fountain. Inside the tea house are five informative panels that give the history of Palm Beach. The history begins with the prehistoric legacy of the Native Americans. It then moves to the Palm Beach pioneers, Henry Morrison Flagler, Colonel Bradley, and ends with the Bradley Park Beautification project. The park pathway continues to Lake Trail that was extended to run along the sea wall. Beautiful plants and trees make up the rest of the park. This park had the nicest public bathroom I have ever seen. It was designed to match the tea house. I love how the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach chose to honor their historical legacy in this park. It is beautiful like all of the parks and gardens they manage. It was worth taking the time to take in the beauty of the park while learning about the history in the area.
