I googled and found Paolo's old website: http://www.mactechlogic.com/ . I called and he told me that he moved and has a new name. As I wanted to make sure the laptop is fixed the same day, I went there rather than using the free on-site repair. His office is in a not very promising looking building, but it is the insight that matters, or? ;) And there is a lot of knowledge inside. I talked in total about 1 hour to him, and I was very impressed by his knowledge. He is repairing Apple products since they were large bulky machines, and he prefers to repair rather than just replacing some faulty part (which Apple does). It turned out that my suspicion about the RAM was not wrong, both of my modules failed because of corrosion. He replaced the modules, cleaned the interior and I have now a laptop that feels like being new. There is no other place in Cambridge where I would bring my Apple products for maintenance. Paolo is very thorough, detailed, customer and product-oriented. It has been a while since I met someone like this.

This store is open as follows: Monday 09:00 - 17:30 Tuesday: 09:00 - 17:30 Wednesday: 09:00 - 17:30 Thursday: 09:00 - 17:30 Friday: 09:00 - 17:30 Saturday: 09:00 - 17:30 Sunday: 11:00 - 17:00 I had to return a faulty phone last year after nearly a month as it had started to turn itself off but they were really helpful; didn't get bombarded with questions and they just gave me a new one straight away to replace it, no cheap phone whilst they tried to fix it. It is a small store though so doesn't always stock all the latest phones but they can order them for you, and it can also get very busy on weekends so have to queue for a long time or go back later, sometimes you cannot get in the door!

Just wasted an hour and a half taking a computer to be repaired. Although this site said they were…read moreopen when I left home, when i arrived at 9.30 there4 wasn't a soul around. I rang my husband and he found their website which said they were open 10am - 2pm today. At 10am there was no sight of anyone and no reply when I phoned them. We've used them in the past and they did an excellent job which is why I went straight to them, but it's no good doing an excellent job if you're never open and have no customer service. I'm afraid I'll be going elsewhere from now on as I don't have hours and hours to waste.
