Took my bike in to have a near rear wheel fitted asap, after the bearings went bang during a 40mile ride. They said the wheel was rather unique and they would have to order one in. I also requested a full service and a new brake cable to be fitted. One week later i got the bike back, paid far too much on the work I feel, when the following day i had to bring it back. the brake cable hadnt been installed, and the gears had been set up wrong - chain coming off a number of times. They fixed it up and I went on my way. A clear example of a Service that was rushed. Second return trip to the shop - rear wheel has gone wobbly again. Not unrideable, but not safe either. They adjusted the cones for me while I waited and off I went again. After 5 days of riding, the wheel went loose again, wobbling a fair amount - so i took it back a THIRD time. This time they ordered a new wheel altogether, and today is the day I take it back to be replaced. The manageress agreed to put on a full set of new reflectors as slight compensation, which is fine by me. The bike is now fixed up and running pretty well I can still feel its age and the fact that its already thinking about the big bike shop in the sky, but for now all is good, and regardless of the complications with this repair job, STATION CYCLES DID get the job done. read more

Absolutely awful service and workmanship I took my bike in with a rear wheel puncture and asked for a new inner tube and for two new tyres to also be fitted. Within a day the back tyre was flat, and I had to take the bike in again. No apologies from the staff whatsoever. The wheel was fixed again and I was sent on my way. Less than an hour after I had left the store the back wheel was flat again. After the bringing in the bike for the THIRD time for the same issue, it finally appears to be resolved. No apologies, no refund on the labour charges offered, and worst of all no sort of responsibility admitted for the absolute shoddy work that had been done on the bike! Paid almost £90 for this stellar job. Not the first time I've had such issues previously with a different bike, I had also gone in for a puncture repair. This time, I just asked for a new inner tube. Within a couple of hours of leaving the shop, I had a flat tyre again. When I went back I was told the member of staff who did the work had forgotten to remove the piece of glass from the tyre that caused the original puncture unbelievable. I will NEVER use this shop again. I can wholeheartedly say worst service I've received on my bike, anywhere. read more

Used the Histon shop which I believe to be part of the chain! Firstly phoned to check on bike availability, didn't have what I wanted but they couldn't put theirselves out to check other stores in Cambridge. Visited the store and was the only customer with two shop assistants I had to go and ask for help from the assistants who just looked at each other as if it was a nuisance,,, it continues ,, after finally getting some assistance or shall I say someone telling me the bike was the wrong size and I might need a 56 or 54 cm frame which they had both sizes in store but just different models, maybe measure me up on them ? No they just couldn't be arsed! I waisted traveling 40 miles I wonder if their manager knows they potentially lost out on a thousand pound? Also experienced NO help in the store near the grand arcade! Surely in these times of osterity you would make some effort? I will never waste my time in station cycles again and will be advising others to do the same. read more

No wonder the staff are so unhelpful, considering the manager they have to work under. When questioned about why my bike's tyres had got two punctures within a week, he contradicted himself several times, saying that because they were entry level (i.e. paper-thin) tyres they were both more likely and NOT more likely to get punctures. When challenged about this contradiction, he rhetorted, What does it matter what I just said? Seriously?! What does it matter what you just said? Because I asked you a question and expected an honest answer! If you buy something from this shop you can expect it to be overpriced and of bad quality. read more

Absoluetly fantastic service took my race bike in the day before a race after suffering a bottom bracket failure, they had the part in stock and had it fitted for me within half an hour, while the mechanic was fixing my bike a salesman talked me through the newer version of my bike and what improvements they had been making over the years. I can safely say i will be purchasing my next bike from this wonderfull shop read more
