Always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I always feel like Dr Hartman truly cares about my pets when I bring them in.

On very short notice Dr. McCarty found room in her schedule to make a farm call to care for one of…read moreour best ewes who had experienced a hard delivery and was not passing the placenta. They were extraordinary in their care of our animal and took the time to discuss all of our concerns with us. When they left we felt we had a very good command of the situation and had a solid protocol to follow for the ewe's recovery. She is improved today and we expect her to be 100% soon. I was very impressed with Dr. McCarty's knowledge, their pen-side manner, their commitment to the animal and to educating us so we can do better by all of our sheep in the future. We are very pleased to be clients of Dr. McCarty and the whole team at MCVS.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Our family farm has used this vet for as long as I can remember. We…read morehave not needed them the past year or so. Which is a good thing right? Call the emergency after hours number when I find my sick goat. Understand the reasoning at the time of them declining to come evaluate my goat. Advised me to take him to new bolten which I learned I can not afford 2k just to walk in the door their. Goat made it through the night awesome call the next morning to get him seen and treated for diarrhea they won't see him. They don't have time. Can I also say it's impossible to get into another large animal vet if you're not already a client of theirs. Needless to say with the pure neglect from this vets office hopefully he makes it through till Monday when we have a new patient appointment with a new large animal vet that took the time to give advice for at home treatment until they can see him on Monday. How are small family owned farms supposed to keep going when their local vet just doesn't care?

Friendly staff and peaceful setting. They made a good effort to schedule me quickly and are…read morereasonably priced. Easily 5 stars initially. However after my cat rapidly lost half her bodyweight and was obviously very boney and barely eating 40cal/d which I communicated, I was told she was a healthy weight with some mild anemia and elevated liver enzymes and to try an IBD diet for 8 weeks. Even at a follow up visit where I said she hadn't eaten in two days and throwing up repeatedly I wasn't advised to go to the ER and was told to be more consistent with the food prescribed despite her not eating it at all. Within two weeks of the initial appointment she passed from large cell lymphoma after not eating for nearly a week and unable to swallow pills to calm her for the final exams. I rushed her to a different vet 10 days following IBD treatment who said her liver enzymes from the original test were very bad and her X-ray from this vet was overexposed and unsuitable for analysis. She had me in the ER after 5 minutes. By the time she was diagnosed she was too far deteriorated to start treatment and was euthanized at home as peacefully as possible after days on an empty stomach. She was sweet and dignified to the end but was suffering immensely when you consider the circumstances. I do not understand how that rapid of weight loss & no appetite did not trigger more urgency from this vet & am frustrated about being misleadingly reassured about her weight loss and "mild" test results while there was still weeks to react. I was told her excessively protruding spine and pelvis was healthy. Had the situation been properly assessed we could have had enough time to start chemo and give her more peaceful final days. If your gut is telling you the diagnosis is outlandish be sure to follow it. This was a 4 year old cat. I was not aware of large cell lymphoma, the deterioration timeline and that all food intake can quickly stop and destroy your options. These are the risks I expect the vet to communicate immediately rather than put her on a fail first treatment plan suitable for mild weight loss. I had a better innate grasp of the urgency and better diagnostic intuition on my own after only several days of research and should have immediately ignored this vet and gone to the ER. Even AI was better at respecting all my observations and lab results. The level of grief I have right now is unbearable.

I don't have enough nice things to say about this office and their team…read more I was slightly hysterical this morning about a cat I had just adopted from the SPCA two days prior. Having not even been an existing client, they got me in right away and couldn't have been nicer. From the front desk, to the vet techs, to the doctor who saw us, everyone was extremely caring and friendly. You have a new client for life!

I called so many locations and yet no one was there except for these people. They coached me on how to pick him up and bring him in. When I did they were ready and waiting despite the fact that they were about to close. They were so kind and helpful and explained to me the situation. This cute little cat all stretched out was actually on his way to heaven and he got there a little faster and with a lot less pain because of them . What a nice group of ladies!!!! They would not let me pay for the service , which was super nice! So I gave a donation in their honor! Thank you for helping out!!!! Stewartstown Vet !!! You are so awesome! Thanks for helping me make a really tough situation better! God Bless you all for your care of little Lee Street Kitty!!!

Everyone at the practice is friendly and helpful. They treat you like family. We lost our beloved Sheldon (cat) earlier this year and Dr. Baker was so involved and engaged with his treatment, even while he was transferred to a specialty hospital. She used every skill and tool in her arsenal to try to get him well and to keep him comfortable until the very end. We could not have asked for a more supportive and compassionate veterinarian and team. They are the best when it comes to how they treat their patients and families. Their prices are reasonable and they give you a discount on your booked appointments. They also have regular walk-in hours, too. We use their boarding services when we go out of town and have been so happy with that service, too. We are clients for life!
