They were extraordinary in their care of our animal and took the time to discuss all of our concerns with us. When they left we felt we had a very good command of the situation and had a solid protocol to follow for the ewe's recovery. She is improved today and we expect her to be 100% soon. I was very impressed with Dr. McCarty's knowledge, their pen-side manner, their commitment to the animal and to educating us so we can do better by all of our sheep in the future. Can I also say it's impossible to get into another large animal vet if you're not already a client of theirs. I dropped my dog off at Stewartstown Vet Services for boarding around 9:00 a.m. on August 12, 2024…read more Their own record describes him as "anxious but otherwise healthy." About an hour later, I was called and told he wasn't adjusting to boarding and needed to be picked up and taken home. What I wasn't told was how serious his condition had become. Their records document respiratory distress, a cyanotic tongue, oxygen, multiple medications, X-rays and intubation. I was never contacted for consent for these treatments or his transfer to the emergency hospital, and the records provided to me contained no documented vital signs during this emergency. Their record states his breathing tube was removed during transport after he began retching/vomiting. The emergency hospital documented him as "profoundly cyanotic" upon arrival. I ultimately had to make the devastating decision to euthanize my dog that same day. I would never trust this practice with another animal.

I called so many locations and yet no one was there except for these people. They coached me on how to pick him up and bring him in. When I did they were ready and waiting despite the fact that they were about to close. They were so kind and helpful and explained to me the situation.
