I viewed it as something you treated yourself to on vacation lol. I was so wrong! Massage, done by the right person, can help everyday health issues. I have had sinus/ allergy issues since the 4th grade. Fast forward to this week a bad cold and crazy temperature shifts had left me with a headache for 3 days. The dizziness was starting as was the pain down my neck and the back of my skull. The pressure was terrible! I was heading down the path to a sinus infection ugh. I felt like if I could just rub my face enough it would loosen up. Then the light bulb went off. Could a massage help this ? Is there a sinus massage ? YES and YES! I called my friend Rachel at Mindful Moments. She got me in the next morning and over 24 hours later I am still headache free! As I was leaving the house to go to my appointment, I was called by a staff member who informed me that their systems were down and I needed to reschedule. I chose the next day. Upon my arrival I was kindly greeted by Kylie who checked me in. After completing a few pages of paperwork, I was given a brief tour of the facility and directed to my sauna. It was a very relaxing session and I highly recommend to those needing a good detox. After my session, I showered and changed and Kylie informed me that I had another free session due to the unexpected cancelation. Overall, this facility is so clean, calm, and welcoming. Tina asked me if I wanted "light, medium or deep" and I said between light and medium. She got the pressure just right for my liking! When I left her I felt so much lighter and relaxed. She really helped melt away my constant knots of tension in my shoulders. I'm definitely planning to book a monthly massage with her to keep my knots in check. She stretched my arm backward in different directions while massaging and activating different pressure points along my back and shoulder blades. She also activated alot of pressure points in my face, skull, hands etc and that was unlike any other massage I've ever had. The pressure can feel intense for a brief moment but when she releases you just feel stress melting away. At the beginning of the massage she asked if I wanted my face and gluts massaged, two thing which I've never been offered before at any other massage. PS- The pictures I see here don't do it justice. My wife finds massages easily uncomfortable if the therapist applies too much pressure, whereas I enjoy a very deep massage. The masseuses are able to accommodate both of these needs flawlessly. The environment is very calming, with nice music being played, beautiful aromas in the air and very calming and relaxing vibes from the staff from the moment you enter the door to the moment you leave. We had a couples massage scheduled for what we had planned as a relaxing day off together. First our therapists were 10 minutes late to start the hour long session which also ended early. Secondly we were never asked what type of massages we wanted. Both therapists proceeded to manhandle us with extreme deep tissue massages when we were looking for relaxing swedish massages. I have never had a massage where I was in pain and about in tears during and felt more tense afterwards. It was requested twice during the session to go lighter on the pressure and it was ignored. Massage Envy has always been convenient and enjoyable but this made me feel like it was becoming the Great Clips of Massage Parlors.

There's something to be said for when a doctor actually LISTENS to you and works with you to help your pain. He also takes the time to help you understand your body, why things are happening, and how you can fix them. I'm not paying to come in, be adjusted, and be sent on my way.
