Visited Calypso Waterpark for the 1st time! Wait times are extremely long on the weekends, waited 2 hours to get onto the lazy river. Food was average but pretty expensive, paid $66 for 4 beers & nacho's. The wait times are honestly worse than Canada's Wonderland in GTA, not well organized for efficiency. What's the point of buying tickets online if they overpack the park anyways? Lined up for the Boomerang ride with tons of others in line at 4:50pm, 2 people out of our group of 7 needed to go to the washroom & stepped out for a few minutes while 5 were waiting in line. When they came back, security walked into the line to remove them because they got notice from one lifeguard. Right before this, we witnessed another lifeguard telling another family that if they had others waiting in the line, they could re-join the line. Wasn't happy with this unfair treatment at all. Descent variety of rides & we still had fun as a group (thus the 3-star and not 1). read more

If you're looking to beat the summer time heat this year I would highly suggest calypso to keep you nice and cool. It's about 1.45 hour drive from Montreal, don't drive to quick all you eager beavers because once you get in to Ontario the speed limit changes. You're charged 10$ for parking and 10$ to rent a locker ( yes they take cards ) You are not allowed to bring in booze so keep that in mind when you're packing you're cooler. (They do have a few bars on site but don't know the prices) Bathrooms are hidden behind the locker room shack FYI AQUALOOPS .... Do you have nerves of steel? Ready to take on G-force speeds? The cabin door shuts and you feel a rush of excitement. 3, 2, 1...The trap door suddenly swings open and gravity pulls you down at over 60 km/h! In less than 2 seconds, you go from 0 to 2.5Gs. How's that for fast? You won't even have time to scream and the next second you're laying down at the bottom of the slide confused as ever. Amazing ! KONGO EXPEDITION .... An old legend has it that there is a mystery at the end of this wave river. What could it be? Jump on a giant inner tube and let the waves transport you through an unexplored world. Deserted islands, flooded caves and raging waterfalls await during this thrilling adventure! Watch out for the exotic animals, reptiles and sneaky primates along the way! Best 15 minutes i spent on a ride all day. TURBO LAB .... i went down the acid test which was a tube for two people that spins and spins around once you get to the middle you go down a little slide and in to a pool. CALYPSO PALCE ..... Canada's largest wave pool ! Waves reach up to 1.8 meters high when you go all the way to the front. You will hear a sound go off and people will start screaming meaning the waves are about to start. There is smoking sections on site and yes you can now go topless for those of you who have been following the news and no I did not see anyone topless lol. The park had some really good slides and the lazy river was also really good. The problem with this park is it is very overcrowded. One major safety concern about the park is the waves are too high in the wave pool and that could lead to some problems due to it being dangerous. The restaurant had some good food but it was quite dirty and unclean. Another problem I had at this park is that it is not smoke-free. My experience at this park was ok, but not great. read more

I'll be direct; cups with lids. The known wasp issue needs attention. My party of 6 people were inundated with 2 dozen or more wasps while eating in the sit in restaurant. We asked to switch tables and were told "yeah, the wasps are bad all over the park." We don't mind the occasional wasp. We're outdoors. We get it. ...but a swarm and no visible attempts on the park's behalf to mitigate the issue is problematic. Disgusting unclean bathrooms, rude checked out staff, overall a depressing place

Calypso seems to be enjoyable for child and youth patrons, BUT if you want to look after your child when they patronize this park, you as a parent or grandparent must pay full fare, almost $60.00 for the priveledge of entry. This is VERY unfair especially to grandparents, who just want to keep their children safe and provide parental supervision in a potentially dangerous situation. The park's excuse for this charge, is that they cannot control if the grandparent uses the facilities therefore they must charge full fare for a grandparent that is just sitting in a chair for a few hours! I would never go back to this park and I would advise all parents or grandparents who want to care for their children, never to go there either! read more

Customer service disaster!!! We visited Calypso Water Park yesterday, where we experienced one of the worst customer service episodes in recent memory. I'm still upset about how we were treated. This wasn't just by the kids working there for a summer job (I realize they don't really care, lol) but by an adult member of the management staff, who exhibited truly deplorable behaviour, and provided us a throughly unpleasant customer service experience. Imagine nails on chalkboard. We booked online, a group of nine, for my daughter's end of the school party. We anticipated an enjoyable time, as we have all patronized this park in the past, on several occasions. (Those visits were ok) I realize all amusement parks have their challenges, from a service and product delivery standpoint - these are large and complex businesses and are difficult to manage. What I don't understand is how staff, including management staff, can think it's ok to be uncommunicative about delaying entry into the park, and making a person feel like a criminal in the process. And they followed it up with a completely disrespectful attitude with some added invective language. I guess because being rude to customers and making them feel uncomfortable is ok to do at this business. And that's after we have already paid. We took the abuse as we knew the next step would a non-refunded barring by the park. What happened was that we pre-paid online, using a Visa. In error I forgot my Visa at home. Because I didn't have my Visa with me, the staff essentially accused me of fraud and made me feel that way. I actually had to ask several times what the problem was. Severe lack of communication on their part. In a rather mean way they asked for a picture of the card, which luckily, I managed to get. (Do they call the police otherwise?) The staff were pretty rude about it and my girlfriend was called a "bitch" by a member of the management staff. I'm still shaking my head. I understand that there are instances of online fraud with credit card purchases. Any business with online sales will have that. What I can't accept is that this business is making their problem, my problem. And treating me poorly doing it. Try some tact, it works! I'm the paying customer, without happy customers, your business closes. I did notice the park was relatively quiet for a Saturday on a long weekend, with nice weather. Maybe they've being treating other customers poorly too. I could definitely see this business closing down in the near future if they continue treating customers this way. And I didn't even mention the leering security guards (creepy actually) or horrific, over-priced food, or the horrible rash I got from the heavily chemically treated water... read more

I am writing this as Calypso is celebrating their second summer of operation. I've been looking so forward to coming out here, based partly on what I've heard! It was so nice to finally make it out here. Generally, our group of 7 did have a good time here, but in my mind this wasn't over a 3 1/2 star event (which I would have given it). First off, although I do find this place both a little expensive and a little bit far for my preference, you can get discount tickets at the CAA if you're a member. Also, you could go there after 3:00pm to get in cheaper (but note: the latest they are ever open is only until 7:00pm) On the other hand, it was a nice drive to Embrun and, and it didn't take an hour to get there like I thought it would when we set out. However, having said that, there are a few reasons that I didn't love it as much as I expected to: for example, although there are several ways in which to get wet here, there were not as many "rides" as I had anticipated, given all the hooplah and advertising. I am not much one for going down a million slides. And waiting in line for an hour or so does not add to the attraction. Keep in mind though that they are expanding the park. It'll be a different experience in a few years. On the upsite on other hand, there are several things here that I really do like: It's all salt water. Get that in your average city (I dare you!) I really did like the wave pool, which created bigger, higher, and more waves thant the wave pool in Kanata (ok - memory may fail me here as it's been a long time since I was there). But my favourite here has to be the Jungle Run, which is a loop of running warm salt water, that (go figure!) resembles a jungle river - complete with wild jungle bird and other wild animal sounds - and I don't mean the people in the water, which is a whole other issue! :-) We went on this ride countless times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also good were the many many picnic tables under the trees for some relief from the sun. We found everything was safe to store here, but to be sure, we also took advantage of a small locker for temporary storage of personal items of personal value. There are a few restaurants and fast food choices inside the park. One sells ice cream - no surprise! - and so many restaurants I passed emanated the inviting, appetizing aroma of fried food. Not your best choice for healthy food lovers, so bring your cooler and park it under a picnic table. Bring enough for lunch an dinner. Or, have your lunch here, then go to to an Embrun restaurant :-) if you're up to it. Just as long as you go, at least once, and have a good time. read more

Really fun waterpark, you can buy the tickets and parking tickets online in advance to save time waiting! Rides are very fun overall, but I wish they had more intense rides. My favourite is the purple ride (that also has the exact same ride in blue), where you stand in a capsule and the bottom floor disappears, so you drop down! Waiting in line can get REALLY long though, so make sure to reapply sunscreen - you WILL get tanned! read more

Waterparks! I have tried my darndest to avoid these over the years - mostly due to bad childhood experiences - but Don twisted my arm into visiting Calypso whilst we were in Ontario. Pros: - No chlorine - at least in the rides that we went on. This is a huge plus for me. - Well-supervised rides. - A reasonable array of slides and attractions, with plenty for visitors of every age. - Wait times, for the most part, were quite reasonable - the only exception to this was the purple loop-de-loop slide (I forget its name), which we waited about an hour to get onto. - Lots of good paired and group rides if you're visiting with friends/family. These rides generally have shorter wait times. - A surprisingly broad array of food choices in the cafeteria, and decent food quality. Cons: - Parking and locker fees suck. - Like any other amusement park, tickets are outrageously expensive. Apparently they're cheaper after 3 pm, but the park closes around 7. - Food is also extremely expensive. If you're going to make the trip to Calypso, I'd recommend planning your entire day around it - even if the wait times aren't bad, you'll still need several hours to enjoy everything that the park has to offer. read more

A few friends and I decided to go to Calypso Waterpark for the day last week. It was a bit of a gloomy Wednesday in August but we weren't going to let that spoil our good time. The parking fee of $8 wasn't too bad but it would have been nice if the lot was at least paved. A fairly trivial matter though. The gate price was about $35 per person which I found to be reasonable considering I was staying for the entire day. A very useful feature Calypso has is the ability to pre-load cash onto your fingertip in the amounts $20,$50, or $100. Very helpful so you can lock your wallet in the locker and not have to worry about constantly running back for cash. Luckily I knew about this feature though as the gate cashier did not tell me about it. Calypso has about a dozen different styles of water slides that come in all different shapes and sizes to suit all thrill levels. There are also 2 "lazy rivers" including the new Kongo which is more intense and almost has a "Disney-esque" feel. There are also several eateries at Calypso. We chose to eat at the Main Street restaurant. I had a poutine which was actually pretty tasty and not terribly overpriced at about $6. The overall cleanliness of the park was quite good but it was a low traffic day. I should also mention that due to the low crowd, only about half of the slides were open at a time. For example, they would run Boomerango for an hour, then run Canyon Rafting for an hour. Another important note is that all of the water in the park is heated and is salt water. Overall we had a great day at Calypso and will definitely be heading back for another visit. read more

If you like your waterparks to have slides that last longer than 10 seconds, this is not your place. This factor is so important for me I can't be bothered to write more. If you are a family with young children looking for a fun and safe day out, I think this probably ranks 4 or 5 stars. Or if you are going with your SO. As my brother said, I can't believe they spent all this money and couldn't have a couple of good rides that kids can't go on. We tried four or five different rides and couldn't be bothered to try anymore given the 15, 20, 25 minute waits. I'm pretty disappointed in this place and likely would not be back. Mont Saint Sauveur is much better for me (although a lot farther for us, that's why we gave Calypso a try in the first place). I have been going there for several years now, my family and I always have fun. This year though, I have mixed feelings about our experience. To start with the good: Yes it's a little pricey, but worth it. There is something for everyone to enjoy. The thing i like most is that there is space for everyone, plenty of picnic tables in the shade or a lounge chair near the wave pool. But this year i left feeling disappointed and here is why: Maintenance is clearly lacking. My favourite thing to do is let myself float around the lazy river. Well the the styrofoam bords we hang on too were all moldy and gross. Half the streaming water jet were not working. employees are clearly bored with there job and don't pay attention to anything. A group of rowdy teenagers were terrorizing everyone and nobody even tried to enforce the rules. And don't get me started about the condition of the bathrooms in the afternoon. So please Calypso, invest in maintenance of equipment and staff, and we will be coming back next season. read more

If you're planning on driving, here are some pro-tips: - As you enter the Calipso driveway, use the left lane. It goes much faster than the right. We waited for about 30-45mins in the right lane before we got in. - Pay your entrance fee with cash if you didn't buy tickets online. On the weekend they had a tent set up for cash payments only, which only had a few people waiting. Otherwise, prepare to wait out in the sun for 30 minutes! Otherwise, the park is big and a lot of fun. Get there early if you want to avoid the massive lines that occur on the weekend too. Learn from our mistakes and have a great time! read more

I took my 13-year old son to Calypso yesterday along with 3 friends. The attractions are quite nice, the boys had fun. I think the entrance fees are too high. I compared the prices with Parc Safari which is a much bigger attraction park, for instance: $49,95 for children from 52" and over for Calypso $24,95 for children from 6-15 yrs old for Parc Safari There's a huge difference on entrance fees. It was also indicated on the Calypso website a 10% rebate for CAA members, false publicity. If you want to try to have the rebate, you have to deal with Tourism Ontario, this is ridiculous. read more

Great place to spend a hot summer day! So many rides, and restaurants! The salt water feature is really fantastic. Lifeguards were on their game. Love the afternoon pricing, and the fact that kids are more or less gone by 4! Yes the park does serve booze and poutine, what more could you ask for after a long day in the sun?! Most fun we had as a family in the longest while. Best water park by far we've been to. Park is perfect for kids and adults. You gotta try the jungle run. Heated water, salt water and very little chlorine smell. A big bonus is they allow you to bring your "picnic basket" and eat inside the park, so you can save some money and eat quality food. read more

Worst water park I have ever been to. We were here on vacation with my 2 kids. My 3 year old wasn't allowed on any slides and they charged me an admission fee for her. I went to complain to customer service and they said "no managers are available because they are busy." This place ruined my day. I do not recommend this park to any families. Amazing fun! Went on Saturday day and a weekday. Lines weren't terrible -but that may have been due to the rainy weather on Saturday and going on a weekday. I was able to go on all rides I wanted to. Calypso has many fun rides for all ages and lawn chairs for you to bask in the sun while jamming to Caribbean party music which makes you feel like you're on vacation :) Pools are also well heated which is great! I usually felt safe, though there were a few times I was concerned about getting hurt (I was aware that Calypso was sued multiple times previously). They also have a bar where you can grab drinks and play beach volleyball if you choose. Food was okay (the served the regular theme park meals like burgers, fries, pizza, etc). read more

I guess you are as good as your managers and frankly they all need training... we traveled from the states, my kids were excited to visit the park but unfortunately the so called supervisor ruined the moment. My phone was downloading the remaining tickets. She was acting like we are trying to sneak in... In the middle due to money problem Hi, my family and I visited your waterpark on Friday August 9th from 11:30-3:00. It was great experience until I returned back home last night (we live near Toronto) and realized that my locker rental refund was actually withdrawn from my bank account. I initially paid 20.00 for rental fee and deposit and upon returning the key, received notification that I was getting 10.00 put back into my account by debit but instead had two withdrawals made by the company. I spoke to a girl in the office tonight who told me nothing can be done. When I said I would call again tomorrow, I was told by her that nothing would still be done. She then went to speak to a manager who also apparently told her that nothing could be done, so I asked to speak to the manager who was immediately "busy". I had a total of 30.00 taken out of my account which should have only been 10.00. This is not good business practice and especially not a promising experience for an out of town tourist who has never been to this waterpark. read more

My Name is Sara Murphy and I was at Calypso Water Park yesterday July 4th, 2016 to celebrate my sons 4th Birthday. My family and I run a very busy seasonal business and we work 7 days a week from March to November. We find it extremely difficult to get away or find any time off during our open season. Because it was my sons 4th birthday we made arrangements to get away despite how busy we are and celebrate the day with him and do something "special". We had a 1 1/2 hour drive so we left the night before and stayed at a nearby Motel so in the morning we could get to the park and start enjoying our day. I have 3 children, 2, 4 & 12 and what was supposed to be an enjoyable family birthday celebration turned out to be a horrific experience. I was not aware that the kids would not be allowed to ride on any of the "raft rides". The only part of the park that Calypso would even let them do was the pirates aqua play and zoo lagoon and the water there was so cold it was freezing. It was even a beautiful hot day, but the water was so cold the children's lips were purple and they were shivering uncontrollably. My Husband and I tried to hold onto them to give them our body heat but they were so cold they couldn't get down to play. Cooper just wanted to go home he said, because it was no fun in such cold water. It broke my heart. We are never able to do anything like this with our family because of our business. This was a once in a blue moon vacation that we were splurging on. Everyone in the family was looking froward to this day and we all needed the break and time together. Within 20 minutes of being there and feeling how cold the water was I quickly went to Information right away to see what options I had if we wanted to leave. The Two Very Young Managers that I spoke with would not compensate us with a refund, a rain check, Anything! Unwilling to offer any sort of compassion at all. I was very clear that if there was no refunds that I was fine with that but at least give us a rain check so I can try another time when the water is warmer or just come back with my older child. They just kept ignoring my pleas for help and repeating themselves over and over "The water is heated to 82 degrees every morning" they would say. I practically begged them to please walk down to pirates play with me and feel the water and look at all the children shivering. They refused. They would not come down, and just kept calling me a liar more or less. I was so upset and my children were so disappointed that we decided to leave. It cost us over $280.00 dollars to give my son the WORST birthday EVER! Not being able to afford to take him somewhere else we had to go home, unsatisfied, unhappy and completely exhausted with disappointment and frustration. We went yesterday (Aug 5th,2014). It was a fantastic experience! The parking lot was only 1/4 full so it was not too busy, which was the best thing ever!!!! The rides were fantastic!! Some rides scary! The wave pool was fun. We stayed behind the black line in the wave pool. People were getting in distress many times in the deep end but the lifeguards were fantastic and jumped in and rescued them!!! They were great!!! Lots of nice places to grab a bite or you can bring your own cooler ( ones with wheels are the best)! The park is super clean. Nice music played all day! Staff were really nice. If its busy and you have long wait times to ride, its not so fun. My family and friends really loved it and felt like it was a small vacation for the day!! The service was wreckless and even after a point of concern by me and telling the servers to slow down, they persisted. I used to be a bartender and have never seen such negligence, even at clubs. I will be contacting the two liquor inspectors that I know cover the area. - parchment paper melted in with the nachos, not enough cheese on the nachos, nachos generally not made properly. No layering and the dish just wasn't balanced considering that the prices we were paying would come with quality. - my friend asked for no sauce on her wings and guess what she got? SAUCE. I found the communication with their servers was generally very difficult since it's a francophone area of the province. And the French always being opposite, of course when you say no sauce to them they bring you the opposite. - when we raised concerns about the food, the server practically shrugged her shoulders and said she doesn't know what to say to us. We then asked for the manager, the manager came to us and argued with us and then it wasn't until I took a photo of the aweful food that she snapped out of her rudeness and brought us some more nachos. But the thing is that she refused to bring out the proper order of chicken wings. But isn't that what you do when you screw up? You fix it? WE DID NOT ORDER SAUCE ON THE WINGS. Plain and simple. The manager basically spit in our face and didn't seem to care because they already had our money. That's embarrassing to the industry. - when my friend sustained a severe, traumatic injury, the life guards didn't know first aid (is that really a properly trianed life guard? Hmm interesting). They kept telling her to calm down as though they were more worried about their reputation and who might be watching. They KNEW they were guilty for safety violation. They were trying to hush her. While they were busy NOT HELPING and trying to hush her, I actually had to administer fist aid myself until first aid arrived. Luckily I used to be in law enforcement and keep all my training up to date. Once first aid arrived, they took over. They weren't following procedure and didn't know which resources to make use of. I then had to take over AGAIN and tell them what to fetch out of the first aid bag. They LACKED in KNOWLEDGE, SUPPLIES, and RESOURCEFULNESS. I was absolutely mind blown. THE RIDES ARE SPECTACULAR. However, if you go, make sure you bring your own first aid kit, drink your own food and bring your own non-alcoholic beverages. Be sure not to order food there if you want to avoid disappointment and if you drink then make sure YOU moderate. They WILL keep pushing drinks on you and try to make as much money as possible to bring their tips up. Be CAREFUL and do not allow them to pressure you into buying drinks. Just simply order the drink and say "and that will be my only drink. Thank you." I will go to the park again because I do like the rides, but that's basically the only thing. I will have very low expectations otherwise. Now I understand why people bring basically a wagon load of stuff (it's basically camping without the tents, from what I've seen). Because they don't want to deal with the food & staff. It all makes sense now. RIDES: highly recommended EVERYTHING ELSE: avoid. Try not to eat the food or interact with the staff. Impressive water park! Going on Tuesday at 9:30am was definitely ideal. The water park opens at 10am so we got there in time for a good parking spot near the entrance and there was minimal line up to get in (went with my sis and nephews who hold a season pass and I purchased an online ticket - if living in Ottawa, you'll receive coupons in the mail for a discount on an adult admission; $17). A great all day event for children and adults; went with a 22 month old and a 5 year old). The best thing is that you may bring your own food! Saw a family walk in with a huge watermelon! (although uncertain if they allowed a kitchen knife in to cut the watermelon, or must resort to using plastic knives....) I am impressed with the cleanliness - reminds me of Disney with the impeccable manicured lawn and no evidence of litter anywhere. At arrival make sure you beeline to a picnic table so that becomes your space for the day. Leave your cooler and towels and you'll be fine...if needed, lockers available for rent with a fee. Otherwise, didn't see anyone lurking through our personal belongings :0. There's speakers hidden in the bushes between the picnic tables that add to the vacationing vibe: reggae and pop music plays. Plenty of food options throughout the park from cafeteria-style (pizza/hot-dog/fries), to a bar for adults, to an all you-can-eat buffet, and a VIP section for older crowds (private cabanas). With the 2 children, we went to the lazy river and the family Kongo wave pool. They were the faves besides the typical designated children water slides. The Kongo exit area is definitely suitable for those who don't like being IN the water but still want to get wet and be part of the fun as it was very interactive. There's a Splash Zone area that have bongos, levers to control water splashing out towards the people exiting the Kongo ride :), and there are ropes that people on the ride can pull on to splash back at you! Just sit back and relax: I think going on a weekday is best (if you can) as the lines for food and rides are very short. read more

Excellent park for families. They have a large range of slides for all ages. The season pass is a great deal if you're planning on going more than 2 or 3 times over the course of the summer. I'd recommend arriving for the opening time, as there are virtually no lines until around noon. Our tactic was to do the busier slides between 10am and noon, when the park is empty, and then stick to the kiddie area and the jungle run (a lazy river style with zero line) or the wave pool, later in the day. Lots of picnic areas throughout the park, where patrons leave their things throughout the day. Although these areas are not monitored, I spend nearly every day there last summer and never once heard of any thefts. My only complaint about the park is the food. They have a cafeteria-style restaurant, a sit-down restaurant, and a couple of bars, along with kiosks for icecream/snacks. They are WAY overpriced for the quality. For a $15-$20 meal, I'd expect quality food at the sit-down restaurant. Instead, we were served a cold meal that makes McDonalds look gourmet. If they improved the quality of their food (or lowered the price) I'd give them five stars. read more

Well I write this rating has a a staff of Calpyso. I find it it is okay depending what department you're dealing with. Like any jobs we get special reward (won't said it what, got to apply to know what). I'm dealing with the aquatic department. Some employees said it can be hard during July because of the over populate in the park (school out). The paid its around not to far from minimum rage (so if you don't live at home, go get another job with it). Other then that, I still get to enjoy the rides :) read more

The water is clean, nice and has great slides. However the life guards seem to not care. In the wave pool my boyfriend, who can't swim, was in the wave pool, at about rib cage deep he got swept under and was drowning. His older brother and I were out of the pool and noticed his head was not coming up, we ran in and found him, still struggling and pulled him out. No life guard helped. Later that same day on the Kongo tube river- young girl about 2-4 was on the tube, struggling to stay on the tube, and was being drowned by the heavy falling water, she went right past a life guard and I put her back in her tube and made sure her family got her back. - on top of all the slides, the life guards were not checking the heights of children going on certain rides. Ontop the acid test slide the two life guards there were actually reclining and eating snacks, talking to each other while people got backed up and went down the slide without checking to see if the other participants have come out safely yet. read more

What a great day! We arrived at 10am on a summer Friday. Knew innadvance parking was cash only and its $8 (this is a con - who brings cash to a water park!) Lots of cashiers open and didn't take long to get tickets at all. Preloaded my finger with some $$ for later (funny process as you have to press the screen a half dozen times), young teenage girl, very friendly and helpfu. Gate check was a breeze, coolers must be submitted to make sure you have no glass coming in. Quiet young man but lovely girl (Crystal) taking our tickets, friendly and for another have a great day comment. Off to get lifejackets (4 & 5 year olds with us). Left my id and got two jackets - no line up and friendly you girl who talked to the boys about what they were looking forward to at the park. Time to find a picnic table - we wanted something by the kids area and had no trouble at all. Picnic table with an umbrella right next to the pirate ship. No problems leaving our things around, lots of people do, and there seems to be a mutual respect. We had no problems at all. Will comment about the no smoking thing others mention - there were a few people smoking around the picnic tables but we were rarely there. If someone had been smoking when we were eating I would have asked them to move. We spent most of our time on the pirate ship, zoo area, lazy river and wave pool. We had 1 trip on the zoomerange - kids loved it. The pirate ship was great for the kids and folks who are not fans of big slides. It's only one at a time down the slide but controlled by a red light/green light system - talk to your kids about how it works if you are letting them explore alone. Kids zoo area slides still great for the kids. They had a blast racing each other on the yellow and green ones. Great area for parents to grab a bench and watch them play. My only comment here is that it would be nice to have some shade sails over this area for both the parents sitting to watch and the little kids playing. Lazy river was great, we went 4 times. The kids had their life jackets so they floated along. When it's busy you do have to watch for arms and feet but it's not bad. One caution, catch up with the kids before the exit! There is a sting jet there and because they can't touch it just shoots them back into the start. My son missed the metal rail but the other little guy got stopped there but it was because his head got stuck between the rail and water. Last stop on round 1 was wave pool. Life jackets are a must if they are not strong swimmers. Our kids loved the wave pool. They were bounced around a bit but overall we stayed well back from the black line and even here the waves were plenty for us. Not much under tow that far back. It was busy but we had no problem finding our own little spot. Then we snacked and repeated the cycle. Pros - salt water system, clean, lots of picnic tables, things for younger kids, life jacket rental, friendly cashiers. Smoking areas are separate. Cons - bathrooms too far apart, food selection (getting better), male attendants on slides for little kids not engaged or paying attention, finger pay system finicky. No enforcement (that I could see) of any rules. Hints and tips: - bring food and drinks. Having snacks were a great idea, purchased hamburgers and hot dogs for hot lunch. - get a lockers for valuables - picnic tables to the right of the entrance under the pines are super shady and great for hot days, turn left towards the pirate ship for lots of other tables. - hit the rides you want to do the most first. - sun block, sun block, sun block! - use common sense in the wave pool: not a strong swimmer then stay behind the line. Suggestions for the park owners: - more shade in the area for the little kids. Some Sail shade would work great over the area and over the benches for parents. They are hot hot hot. - more washrooms. Not sure how easily accomplished this would be however try getting a child off the top of the pirate ship all the way to the nearest bathroom when he really really has to go is quite a challenge. - sand - logistically and mechanically I know it is probably not possible but it would be great to have some sand at the wave pool or in the kids area, nothing says summer like a sand castle. - parking - you must be so sick of hearing about parking. It's a little steep. My hopes is that you are trying to fund the paving of said lot and will reduce or eliminate the cost down the road. Also need at least 1 line with a wireless pay pad for visa and interact. Not like the closest bank is right next door and it would be a crappy start to a vacationif you had to turn someone away to go get cash. Way too expensive, way too packed and rides way too short for the wait. Mont Cascades is a way better deal.
