Her self esteem was already taking a hit at such a young age, I knew we needed a change. At the Tidewater school everyone was so great to meet with not only me but my daughter to ensure that she was a good fit for the school. Everyone is welcoming and it is truly a community of support. Because of Tidewater we have been able to isolate the learning problems and actually do something about them. They truly want to help and want your child to be happy, healthy and thrive. I encourage anyone who has a desire for a different learning environment for their child or who has a child who is an atypical learner to do yourselves and your child a favor and reach out to The Tidewater School.

Tidewater's model is skills-based and instruction is individualized, so children become used to being autonomous and they truly do fall in love with learning. Class sizes are small, and teachers are highly skilled, dedicated, and caring. There are elements of magic in the outdoor learning spaces and the imaginative activities. I wish all schools could get it this right.

This is a wonderful down-to-earth place to send your toddlers and school agers. They balance love,…read morestructure, and fun, and will always be open and honest with you about your child, rather than just telling you what you want to hear about their day. My daughter has been here for a year, and after going to a "top of the line" daycare, where she was boxed in and miserable, she has grown into a happy and talkative little girl who loves her school, her friends, and her teacher!!!!
