The two of them make a great team. It's obvious from their introduction that they love sharing their passion of sailing with others. Before we even got to the dock I was in contact with Josh on the phone and email. He responded quickly and was happy to offer some amenities. Josh offered me a few pick up locations and offered to drop us at our hotel marina. Once on the boat we covered a quick but thorough safety brief. We toured the river before entering the bay. Carmelita and Josh made suggestions for restaurants and other activities on Solomons and pointed them out as we passed them. Our tour took us around Solomons Island and under the bridge at sunset. Carmelita took pictures of us the whole time and shared them with us after the tour. It was great talking with them about how they got into sailing and how they learned their craft. The boat was clean and appeared to be sound. On the way back lighting storms were surrounding us. The light show was really cool to watch. The storm was about 30 miles so there was no danger and we felt safe the Josh and Carmelita were keeping an eye on the weather. I would definitely recommend their tour or charter service. The boat…read moredeparts from a bar/restaurant on the water so there's plenty of parking and you can grab a drink or a bite (and use the bathrooms--there's none on the boat) before or after. The boat itself is literally a round, floating tiki bar on the water. It holds up to 6 people plus the captain. You can bring your own drinks (recommend taking a page out of our book and bringing a pitcher of pre-made painkillers with you for the ride!) and snacks, and they provide water and drinking ice. You can also connect to bluetooth speakers to play your own music. Our captain was great, he chatted with us throughout the ride, pointing out wildlife and sharing little tidbits about the landmarks and history of the area as we cruised around. As you'd expect this thing doesn't move very quickly, but it made for a really relaxing ride with plenty of time to check out the views, enjoy a few drinks, and gawk at all the houses and boats along the shore. We went around 6:30pm and it was perfect for beating the heat and catching some sunset. Would totally do this again for a special occasion or with out of town visitors!

It was a gorgeous afternoon as well and I loved being on board. The captain was very engaging and eager to answer any of our questions. He displayed much patience from making sure everyone was catching and even when I had tried from catching so much, he fished with my rod. His love for what he does really showed through. He gave us a tip for catching them and every time we did it, we hooked up. The mates were awesome and as soon as you had a fish they were there taking it off your hook and putting in your cooler. One even sampled some fresh bunker lol ;-) The captain was even helping out and I don't remember too many if any captains on my previous trips with other vessels helping out like that. A lady on board caught 80 fish! If you are a lover of spot, definitely go with Bunky's. Another boat anchored next to us and was catching as well but they charge more, almost 50% more and I have no clue why. . . . Glad I went with Bunky's. I'm more of a game fisher myself so when there is an opportunity for them I'll be back.

The class started over 30 minutes late and ran long, which caused me to be late for my next commitment. More importantly, it wasn't truly a cooking class; it was a demonstration. Most of us simply watched, while a few lucky participants were invited to roll and seal one dumpling each. There was no hands-on learning, no guidance, and no opportunity to build skills. To make matters worse, I was seated near the back, where I couldn't see the main table well. The viewing monitor wasn't zoomed in enough to be helpful, and loud conversations around me made it hard to hear the instructor. Reserved seating was allowed, so although I arrived early, I was unable to sit in several empty front-row seats because they were being held for friends who arrived much later. The food itself was underwhelming and bland, lacking in authentic flavor, and not worth the wait. Two of the dumpling varieties used store-bought wrappers, and portions were small. The sauces were forgettable, and the pace of serving was slow, leaving us with lots of waiting and very little to enjoy. We weren't even given recipes to take home, which, after tasting the food, I wasn't too disappointed about. At $100 per ticket, I expected an interactive, educational experience with quality food and better organization. Unfortunately, I left without learning any new skills, still hungry, and feeling like I wasted both time and money. I would not recommend this class. On a good note the staff were very friendly and accommodating, but I won't be back.

All summer I had to run my own longer cable to various other pedestals which sometimes worked and sometimes did not. All that time my cables were run over by dock traffic. Management response to other issues was similarly bad as well. I won't go into it all. The season's experience was frustrating. Requested services were promised and not performed. Lower-level workers were very helpful. I expect to see these guys write some sort of rebuttal in the form of another self-assigned 5-star rating to offset this one. All I can say is "reader beware".
