My older brother actually became a Funeral Director, and eventually a Coroner, so I am really critical when I go to a funeral. The building for this FH is modern, as it was recently built. We chose them because they built next to the Cemetary where our family plot is. Our country is still under quarantine, so social gatherings are discouraged, but if your immediate family is more than 20 to start with, who do you tell not to come? Our chosen FD was both honest and concerned. He assured me that anyone who wanted to come would be welcome. We posted in the obituary that the service was private by invitation only, so the true family and friends will be there. We are confident there will not be any confrontations or negative energy tomorrow when we bury my son. Say a prayer for us, please.

When my mother was paying for the services there was definitely added charges to the billing. She paid what they asked anyway. She had continued to also plan and pay for her services for when the time came. When she did pass July 2018, we had her services at Flynn's funeral home. As stated she paid ahead of time and there wasn't much we had to pay for at the time of her services. I can say they were not as attentive to our needs this time around. My sisters and I felt like we didn't have direction during her services. When we had the graveside services a few days later, there was nothing set up. We had to call to have the flowers and funeral directors to come. 6 months later her date is not present on the headstone either. I believe the difference was they were paid ahead of time. They didn't need to try to please us anymore.

I have been blessed to have only been to a few funerals in my life but this was the first person that I really knew and had family ties to. I was actually really impressed with this Funeral home and the professional appearance of the family that ran it. I am pretty sure they knew my Grandparents and went to church with them. I am guessing that the building was a converted house from a long time ago as it felt more like a home than a business and you were there for an event rather than something sad. Everyone was very courteous and helpful even as we carted around our 3 kids. I in my own way have a great respect for this business and what they are able to do.
