If I could give this funeral home no stars I would!!! They buried my son naked, not that it matters…read moremuch now, I guess but it did at that time and when ur paying a place 7k to handle things properly this should NOT have happened. I was also threatened with pictures of my brutally murdered son when I 6 months later (I was in shock at the time and just accepted I had to have a closed casket) later went in to see why I couldnt have had a open casket. My son was shot in the head and but had a his full face so Im sure they could have put a hat on him or something. I mean the reconstruct faces at some funeral homes and my sons face was fine. My mom and brother seen pics of him from the corner and they both said his face looked fine it only had a small scratch under his left eye that makeup could have hid easliy. When I asked the funeral director he said, "that kid had no back of his head!!", "you want me to show you??!" As he was looking through his folder to show me this horrendous picture of my son!!! I also wanted to see what suit they buried my son in since it was I couldnt see my son and didnt know the suit was never delivered until after my son was buried. The funeral director lied right to my mom and my face and had the nerve to say my mom brought his suit, but she did not and was not the one suppose to even bring it. Also it was made very clear this was a young man's funeral and there would be a lot of ppl attending and the funeral director was either running around yelling about the amount if ppl there or he was hitting on ppl and not only was he a easy 20yrs older then the ppl he was chasing around but he is a married man, and suppose to be a religious one too... It was so bad at one point he was literally stocking ppl and relentless hitting on them even on facebook. He is truly a sick man and I can not believe I trusted him in my weakest moments with my sons finally hours on this earth. Please I beg of you to not make the same mistake!!! I tried contacting the funeral home and its owners countless times, not that they could even fix anything, but I wanted them to know what kind of service my son had and for them to make sure it doesnt happen to somebody else, but I never even got 1 reply back, nothing. Im telling you please do no waste your $, or emotional well being and go with a funeral home that has respect for your loved ones weither they are alive or dead because Greens does not.

When I spotted Saint John's Cathedral Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, on my recent visit to…read morePittsburgh, I knew I had to explore it, and it was amazing. I have extensively walked through many cemeteries across New England, the south, and abroad due to my years of photography obsession and for many years being active with the Find-A-Grave program. From St Louis Cemetery in New Orleans to the crypts of Cathedral of Roda in Spain, and everywhere in between I have not seen a sprawling layout quite like like this one anywhere in my travels. The cemetery is located on Main Street in Munhall, PA and is a hallowed burial ground closely connected to the Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church. This cemetery holds a special place in the hearts of the local Byzantine Catholic community, serving as a final resting place for many of its faithful members. The history of Saint John's Cathedral Byzantine Catholic Cemetery can be traced back to the early 20th century, when the need for a dedicated burial ground for the growing Ruthenian Greek Catholic congregation became apparent. The cemetery was established to provide a sacred space where members of the Byzantine Catholic community could be laid to rest in accordance with their faith and traditions. Spread across a gently sloping terrain, Saint John's Cathedral Byzantine Catholic Cemetery features rows of graves marked by a variety of headstones, ranging from simple markers to more elaborate monuments. The cemetery's well-maintained grounds provide a peaceful setting for visitors to pay their respects and remember the loved ones memorials here. The exact number of graves here isn't readily available, it is known that the burial ground has served the community for over a century, accommodating multiple generations of Byzantine Catholics. The cemetery continues to be an important part of the spiritual life of the local community, with funerals and memorial services held regularly in accordance with Byzantine Catholic traditions. Bottom line: Saint John's Cathedral Byzantine Catholic Cemetery is a sacred and historic site that holds great significance for the Byzantine Catholic community in Munhall and the surrounding area. Its serene atmosphere, rich history, and connection to the spiritual life of the community make it a cherished place of remembrance and reflection. We just held my beloved grandfather's funeral at Maloy-Schleifer and had a wonderfully positive…read moreexperience. My grandfather passed away relatively quickly, and we hadn't put much thought into a funeral before meeting with Bill after my grandfather passed. Bill and his son Billy are kind, thoughtful, organized, transparent, patient, and prepared -- all of which came in handy as our family was just trying to keep our heads on straight and sort out how to proceed. As genuine, kind, and caring people, the Schleifers are perfect for the line of work that they're in. Their memory for details is impeccable, and they took all the time we needed to chat about whatever topic was at hand. Although they deal with death all the time, they aren't hardened to it - they poured out an incredible amount of care and compassion to our family and friends, and were unfailingly giving, kind, and helpful. The fact that they can do this time and again for each family, for decades, speaks to theIr skill and the strength of the family's character. I was impressed by how modern their operations are. Their reputation in the community is strong, and rightfully so. Given that, they could certainly just deliver the same kinds of services that they have for decades, without changing much, and be perfectly fine. Instead, it's clear that Bill and Billy invest a lot of time and energy to be sure what they offer is competitive, modern, and the best of the best. They aren't content to just coast along on the strength of their good reputation; they earn that reputation again with each service they provide. Their website has beautifully modern personalized obituaries, tribute options, and integrations with florists so that friends and family were able to easily send arrangements to the funeral home. Bill also told us about things he'd learned from others and read in his trade association's newsletter around coronavirus (more on that below). They've won awards and distinctions for their work, and it was clear to me that they have their finger on the pulse of good new innovations in the industry. The team runs a flawless operation. Their turnaround time for everything was amazingly fast, yet we never felt rushed through anything. And although I'm sure their core processes are the same for each funeral, they were able to incorporate an exceptional amount of personalization so that we could have the service and experience we desired. The Schleifers quickly and capably organized an amazing, perfect funeral that made our hearts feel full. Since we had a funeral in mid-2020 and hadn't been to any services since coronavirus, we had some questions about how that would affect our plans. We're extremely conservative with our approach to the virus, but felt we should leave our "bubble" for the first time to have a small gathering. We didn't know what to expect before we met with the Schleifers, but once we did, we were instantly reassured by all the thought they've put into their coronavirus response: - The funeral home was spotlessly clean (as always) - The guest book table and other areas were all thoughtfully stocked with sanitizer, clean pens (and a spot for used pens), single-use materials, etc. Everything was frequently cleaned. - The visitation rooms had HEPA air purifiers and great overall HVAC ventilation - Local rules around capacity and mask-wearing were enforced - The services were live-streamed for those unable to attend in person I have high standards and can be a stickler for details. I plan, research, and notice a lot, and when it came to my grandfather's care these past several months, I've stopped at nothing to ensure he had the best of everything. I was absolutely blown away by how much the Maloy-Schleifer team did, all within 3 short days of planning. Not only did they do an amazing job with all we expected, they thought of countless other things we hadn't, and not a single thing was wrong or overlooked. I learned just how much goes into a good funeral, and they executed each piece amazingly. Bill also provided helpful, independently-written materials on what comes next in grieving and winding down an estate, as well as personalized materials that recapped our day at the funeral home and remembered my grandfather. They really thought of everything. Bill's personal, thoughtful, independent, concierge-style services go above and beyond what I would expect, and are truly unparalleled. If you're in need of a funeral home, stop reading and go give the Schleifers a call. You'll be glad that you and your loved one are in such good hands. I trust them fully and can't imagine going anywhere else in the future. Their prices seem very competitive, and feel like a bargain when I look at how much they did for us. Most of all, the Schleifers' skill and compassion brought us peace and provided a perfect send-off for my grandfather, and for that, we can't thank them enough.
